So, I run potd and the difficulty mod but there's still so many ways to break the game, so I made everyone a duelist. IE avoided getting too much aoe dmg, alot is a fighter/mage using the martial grimoire (this made a huge difference) Eder is a swashbuckler whose more dming that tank so he needs to be healed, I'm a ranger/priest with no heals and only using the buffs Xoti doesnt have, she has some heals but mostly melees with her special weapons, and I allow one companion to have "some" aoe. Right now its fishboy as his Theurge and hes mostly buffing . Fights are long but fun.

Long story short, no aoe wizard makes the fights last longer.

Realizing how "no duh" that statement is.

I mean I just avoid the clearly broken things like never ending procs etc =).

Question about the difficulty mod since I haven't had to much time to play it yet are spells actually useable? I was just concerned since there aren't to many ways to increase accuracy and with the level difference I wasn't sure if all my spells would miss and drive me crazy

I also play on PotD with the difficulty mod. Spells are definitely viable, there are however certain enemies like bosses which will be extremely hard to hit unless they have 1 lower defense. That said I'm doing fine with 2 spell casters in my party (Geomancer Maia and Druid Tekehu) with no Devotions, only Zealous Focus for party acc buff.

I just killed my first 'big boss' on the critical path and it was pretty challenging since I didnt know its attacks, even had some characters die but ultimately pulled through. I avoid the proc chains as mentioned and also don't empower spells, only use empower to replenish resources if needed. I also try not to rest too often, usually only if I get an injury, which is rare. I don't rely on per rest mechanics.
