i am useing the 82865G onboard video and the game runs okay. At first i thought it didn't because it always crashed after the intro, but i loaded a saved file that was 15 hours into the game and it worked so..... 82865 should work using the onboard vid

boba, i have the same problem as you, and my system is only a little better, P4 2.8 ghz 512 ram 96mb intel grphics controler i was half-convinced it was a hardware problem, but wanted to test out wether it was bug. so i went upstairs to my families computer (it runs kotor2 fine) and copied my brother saved game files (he was 15 hours into the game) i placed the files in my savedgame folder and loaded them, the game ran fine. So i figured i would just skip over the bug by starting a game on the other computer then transfering it onto this one, i tried it just a few minutes into the game, and 2 hours into the game, neither of them worked, so i dont know, it must be a bug that somehow only aplies when you're on the paragus or on the ebon hawk at the very start...

i have this same problem, though i dont have an ati card, i have an intel onboard card (82865G) the game works fine on my families computer upstairs. i took one of my brother's saved game files and transfered it to my computer then loaded it. it worked fine. so i tried creating a character skipping the prologue at the begining then saving when you're on the paragus. then bringing that file to my computer. but it didn't work. my brothers saved game was 15 hours into the game. so i dont know, maybe there is a problem with just the first "chapter" of the game?? maybe its just the paragus? i dont know...
