  1. "Sith Cave on Korriban"

Yes, I agree. That was nice. Same with the Mandolarians.

"Kreia and the Exile are kindred spirits."

You on crack? I was no kindred spirit of hers. I had absolutely nothing but a forced plot device connecting me to her.

She was a good character; but nowhere near as enviable as some claim. Great voice, however. And, only the most corrupt could eat the garbage she was shovelling out espicially at the end. She is very much Dark Side. She oozes Hate for Everything. When she said she loved me, I wanted to puke.

    That is all.

How is it that only the corrupt would listen to her? Most of what she said was true and as far as morals go, she was always very logical about it all.

  2. Nar Shada: I caused traouble as much as i could, but the exchange did not contact me yet.

what have i to do to get them to contact me? if it is a bug, what do i do?

i already tried two times beginning with another planet!

If you do every sidequest and explore everywhere and make sure to always stick it to the exchange, they should contact you. The list of things to do is long, so check a walkthrough.

You can also talk to this one guy in the Cantina and pay him to get them to contact you.

  3. Yea, most people who complain that the ending doesn't resolve most things simply didn't find the explanations in game or aren't willing to think things through themselves. I can only think of one thing that wasn't explained or had a logical conclusion that didn't need to be explained, because it was logical (and this is Mira following you, and somehow getting back to the ship? That part doesn't make sense, though maybe she ran from those jedi who bowed and let you enter. But that's hoaky)

My complaints were never about that. My complaints were that the ending we found vestigial traces of was much more powerful and I found it immensly more interesting. I so love tragic endings and suffering.

  4. I thought to focus only on getting Wisdom very high, but I think Charisma is just as important so I will focus items, bonus points, (etc.) on Cha/Wis equally.

Here are the starting stats I thought to try:

    12 Strength

    10 Dexterity

    10 Constitution

    10 Intelligence

    16 Wisdom

    16 Charisma

I plan to simply alternate bonus points between Cha and Wis as I level (which by level 20 would give me a 19 Wisdom and 18 Charisma.

Also, how poor will my lightsaber ability be with such a focused character? I planned to go prestige Jedi Master, but would Weaponmaster be a better option?

Are there plenty of items to get a high charisma and wisdom or are most items focused mainly on wisdom for the consular? Remember, very few skills and low con so no great implants and item creation.

Which skills should I focus on with my meager skill points? (Class Skills: Awareness, Repair, Treat Injury, Persuade). Just evenly divide them between all 4? What bonsues will I lose out on with poor skills? (I think you get a WIS bonus from T3 with high repair).

And finally, is there an area that has a steady spawn of creatures so I can level my character (maybe as high as 50)? Apparently the bad guys scale with your level, so I would like to ultimately max out the character.

Not bad, but you might want to put the 12 in Int instead, to up your skills. Frankly, you will be using your powers to the extent so that the +1 melee is minute. I did it with Jedi Master and had no problems other than the tournament style sidequest fights, but I even beat those after a few tries. You find a lot of items to increase both. However, my wisdom was higher than my Charisma at the end, and I was focusing on charisma, but most items that increase charisma do the same for wisdom, except have a higher raise for wisdom. For skills, Treat Injury, Persuade and Repair. This allows you to make some u seful items, increase droid capibilities, and it increases the power of your healing. Persuade is critical for a consular, as well, since that is the way (I believe) the class is meant to be played.

There are some areas with repeating spawns, but I don't remember them.

Dark side powers SHOULD work well with a high charisma, since that's what it says, but I've never tested this. You can still fight very well with a lightsaber, but the idea of a Jedi Consular/Master with dark side powers is frightening. I could cast all of my buffs and heals and my mana would barely be touched before it recovered because of light saber styles. I was powerful, and I had more mana than a dozen jedi's combined. I could stasis even Nihilus and Sion.

  5. However, if it is true that the holocrons and Nihilius were just speaking backwards English, and that that is supposed to be the Sith tongue, I'm more than heavily disappointed.

Why? It certainly sounds good enough. The fact that you can get actual words by playing it backwards is just a nice bonus for those who felt like doing a little extra work.

    Too high expectations.

I've always been a big fan of the Sith and their beliefs. So, naturally I expected the True Sith to be something out of this world in terms of power, appereance, and knowledge. I guess I just find the whole "speaking backwards in English language" idea pretty dumb. However, I'll just hope there's some really good reason for it.

Gotcha. I'd never really thought much about the True Sith, so my thought process more or less stopped at, "Hey, that sounds damn cool."

I thought it was sort of a nifty allusion to all the claims of 'play the beatles/chicago/etc. backwards and hear praises to Satan!'

Not that I ever saw the big deal. There are lots of bands you can play foward to hear praises to Satan! Much easier, if you ask me.

  6. Talking to Gren is necessary but won't do it alone.  You can't have agreed to assist the Ithorians when you see the criminals in the Czerka office.  If you start working with the Iths before going to Czerka and seeing them, they never show up.  It's a bugged quest if you do things out of order unfortunately.

I had finished all the Ithorian quest before I went to the office. I saw these people there.

  7. Without using buffs or cheating, what is the highest wisdom possible and what equipment/prestige class/upgrades, specifically, gets it there?

I wanted to try a Consular with a ridiculously high DC for fun.

    Thank you

You can put in 18 at start, and just pump points into it. By the end of the game, you should have a natural of 22-24. You can increase it by about 8 if you focus on it with items. Another six with light mastery in Jedi Consular and Jedi Master (or just +3 if you only master one)

I personally had 36 wisdom at the end, with all my items and Jedi Consuloar/Master light mastery. I also had about 30 charisma. I could use stasis field on Sion and Nihilus. However, the monster attacking hte gate in Onderon and hte last boss seem to be immune.

  8. I found that most people forget to tell the TSF guy once they see him. You need to talk to that guy for them to actually appear down there. So, go to Czerka officies, see them, talk to the guy who gave you the quest and tell him they are heading for the restoration zone, and when you get there they should bhe the second mercenary group you see.

  9. I prefer that Revan was a guy.. I mean, Carth already has a son, and you dont wanna get mixed up with that :p

Being with Bastila is better, just imagine, your son would be even stronger than you when he's older, your son would someday save the galaxy :D or maybe try and bring it to an end. and it would be funny if they threw in something like "Revan... I am your Son!" :D

I first did K2 as a male, theres lots of relationships for a male :) I like that.. but I think when K3 comes, I'll choose female for the exile. lol.

ooh yeah, the pc version kinda sucks for the faces.. we should have these new faces, and the old faces :o.. the new faces at least have 1 male and 1 female face who's not being used as NPCs throughout the game, the last guy I had, I saw him 3 times.

If Bastilla became pregnant, she'd be expelled by the Jedi Council.

  10. "doesn't it SCREAM OMG EVERYTHING IS FINE WITH THE UNIVERSE AND IT'S ALL BECAUSE OF YOU?"

No. Afterall, look at all the destruction caused.. lots of it in the player's name. How many people died because the UBG was trying to get to the PC? Lots. Not happy, happy.

You don't know the definition of Happy, Happy ity seems. Last i checked, Happy Happy doens't = thousands dying.

Keep spinning your fanboyish tales. It won't change anything.

You mean there were people who were actually surprised at being Revan?

  11. If someone converts Atton's death to an MP3 file I will give you my first born child. As a mac user, for me it just shows as a bunch of funny symbols. I know, I know.. it's my fault for having a stupid mac. But please, have mercy on me!

Unfortunately, I can't put up the mp3 because my host doesn't allow mp3 files... that's why I converted them to windows media. If you download the mac version of the windows media player, I'm guessing it should play fine.

Winamp can also play WMP files. You should have winamp.

  12. They are letting you say all this stuff about them and the game..........  this must be the most unmoderated forum site I've ever visited.

I mean, even if it isn't perfect (i've only just got it) WHAT THE FRIGGIN HELL ELSE ARE YOU GONNA PLAY ON YOUR XBOX!  Are there any other good games on xbox outside of KOTOR1 and 2?  (GTA vice city port aside) That's what I thought.

I'm having fu nat the moment, and all I ahve to say is thank you Obsidian and Bioware for making a good game for xbox.

Oh, blow it out your ass! Just because you can't seem to find anything else to play on the XBox, doesn't justify the above rant. Don't preach to me about how I should be overjoyed that Obsidian released K2 on the XBox. Personally, I have a library of XBox titles I would rather play than this unfinished excuse for a game. Look, if you want to get down on your bleeding knees and worship Obsidian that?s fine with me, just do it without rubbing my, and everyone else?s noses in it, you silly little git.

As for the topic at hand, I really don't care what the the dev ment to say, the fact remains there will be no patch for the PC and no DLC for the Xbox. Basicly we are all screwed.

    Cheers!

A library of Xbox games? Sad. I have Shenmue, Morrowind, KOTOR 1 +2 ...and that's it. Xbox is full of kiddie action games.......sooooooo boring. The only reason I got one was for KOTOR. I'm not some kid you friggin loser. Some of the poeple whinging here have really lost perspective. I'd rather play a good but buggy game like this than some boring chore like Halo 2, or a nicew looking but go nowhere RPG like Fable.

You make RPG fans sound suck. You should cease to exist.

  13. In my mind Revan will always be a LS female. The SW needed a strong female Jedi to me. And to me a LS Revan is the perfect character. She showed she could make sacrifices for the good of the republic and become a seemingly ruthless Sith Lord to strengthen the republic. Unfortunatly Malak got in the way... and she forgot all that. With no memory of her reasons for becoming a Sith lord she resumes her compassionate path... but dun dun dun.. starts remembering again and must leave poor Carthy-poo to finally rid the galaxy of this threat she initially wanted to protect the republic from. At least that's what I got out of the first two games ^^;;;

I actually like the idea of a female Revan better than male, however, I originally played as male, so Revan will always be 'he' in my eyes.

  14. Wow.  You know the *exact* same thing has happened in my game?

I decided to side with Vaklu because I thought he had a stronger vision for moving

the planet forward. Also,  even though there are hints that Vaklu is not totally "light", the game leads you to belleive that choosing a new leader for Onderon is a choice that will not affect Light Side/Dark Side paths.

If this were not true, they should have given you DS points as soon as you started siding with Vaklu or expressed support for his followers.  But instead the game did nothing, so I figured it was "okay".

So imagine my surprise when I get into the throne room and I am expected to fight Master <forgot name>.  What??? I thought the goal was just *getting into the palace*.  How you did it and which leader you chose were *up to you*.  I did not want to fight him and later have no choice about killing the other Jedi.

I understand that I will still get the light side ending, but now my choices are not exactly what I wanted.  Don't really feel like going back  so I  guess I am stuck.

This is because that Jedi Master is supporting the Queen. When you spearpoint a Sith/Vaklu invasion, he attacks you. You don't get dark points because you don't know you are doing evil til its done.

  15. Level 15 is the minimum level, I believe, before a prestige class.  Stop there if you really want.  Trust me though, it won't make a blind bit of difference, because the game will be unbelievebly easy no matter how you level up, except possibly something like guardian/Lord or consular/Weaponmaster.

I've found Jedi Consular/Jedi Knight is one of the strongest combos, even though I went with Jedi Master. This gives you all the powers you've earned as a consular, as well as hte weapon skills of a warrior. Nice stuff.

  16. They are letting you say all this stuff about them and the game..........  this must be the most unmoderated forum site I've ever visited.

Dude, X Box has a few good games. Almost a whole handful! I mean, there's Steel Battalion. And KotOR (though the PC versions are better of each, of course). Gunvalkyrie, Crimson Sea, Chronicles of Riddick (again, better on PC) and the first Buffy game are all good. Sure, outside of action games, there's not much.

However, for those without gaming PCs (heathens), its the only way to play KotOR, Morrowind, and Arx Fatalis, some of the best RPGs ever. Deffinitely the best ever on consoles.

  17. Let's look at this, shall we?

    1) a personal comment

    2) in a non-KOTOR2 forum

    3) on a site other than Obsidians

    4) from an engineer working on a different product (i don't know if he was working with KOTOR2, i'm at work and don't have the information handy.)

As to the comment itself, since you are a poster on a game forum you are a minority. Deal with it. As a forum board member you are in the smallest percentage of consumer gamers out there.

Now you can read into this comment all you want and get yourself whipped into a frenzy, but it's not obsidians official position on KOTOR2 in any way, shape, or form.

    Yes, I agree.

Still, he was arrogant and should be slapped for unsettling the Tan. Maybe even twice!

  18. Actually you CAN swap weapons in the EH. Go to your inventory screen and click on the little arrows to the left and right of the character's portrait underneath his equipment setup. You can thus equip Atton with his l337 blasters within the comfortable interior of your ship!

AH WHAT?! I didn't even know! Thanks for the info!

Your story would have been a good explanation if you couldn't do that, though

  19. Even if the majority of the posters (including myself) agree that the game is in need of some revising, it is still entirely possible that we are the vocal minority. People rarely come to these boards unless they have a problem with the game in the first place, so the demographic is skewed. On the other hand, there are some people who come to these boards simply because they love the game a lot.

Either way, I agree with you. The OE developers have been curiously inactive on their own boards, and what they have to say is about the only thing that will lay many of the questions in the minds of the readers to rest.

Regardless, I found that programmer's post to be incredibly arrogant. Of course initial sales of their game were tremendous, because nobody knows anything's wrong with it really until they get to the end and feel like they've been punched in the face...

What irks me are the reviewers and the people who gave it RPG of the year and so forth. It would be amusing to see the people behind those awards try to explain the entire plotline. Indeed, it wasn't until I was trying to explain the storyline to someone else that I realized I had no idea what was going on by the end of it. A most embarassing moment, I assure you.

Am I the only one who understood virtually all of it the first time through? I agree it would have been a hundred times better if they had more time to put that stuff in (if they still intended to), but I never really felt lost. The only thing that I didn't see an explanation for is Mira. She's behind you, but she is supposedly looking foward to a good future, despite the fact that the last time you see her she is entering the academy? The ship was already gone by then, so that confuses me a bit.

EDIT: Oh, and rather his statement was true or false, I find it arrogant.

I do think it is far better than the first though, but arrogance still annoys me.
