  1. Wait a tick... I was sure I read on the forums (from a developer) that Obsidian had made some intention of wanting to release a content patch, but wasn't sure if LucasArts would go for it. Has a new development occurred? Last I checked, the list of fixes won't be released until the patch is actually released.
  2. Well stated Jebus. I was previously unaware of the GameSpy article until I read it. I'm not quite halfway done with the game yet, but it is so engrossing, I'm getting a little nervous about how the ending is going to play out. I'm purposely avoiding the spoiler forum just in case I read anything that gives it away. In regards to the developers, I don't know how large Obsidian Entertainment is, but I think the overall product is still pretty impressive (save all the minor and semi-minor bugs). I really look forward to the patch from Obsidian and hope they are beginning to work on one. As a fellow software developer myself, I think it would be a bit arrogant to believe that the developers could fix all the major bugs in such a short span, but hopefully they can fix some of the major issues first (e.g. the Swoop Biker issue, the Video Card issues, etc.) to allow for better gameplay, and leave some of the minor problems (e.g. spelling, typos) a little lower on the priority list (or give those to an intern! :D ).
  3. I also had a problem with the Telos swoop racing (haven't tried any of the other planets yet). I forfeited one practice run, and the program apparently went into an inescapable logic error, where I am told I had a nasty spill, regardless of how I performed (finished, made best time, etc.). I'm not one to complain about people I don't know, especially when I don't know the whole story, but somebody is getting an earful for either pushing the release date or foregoing extensive testing on this product. Whoever was responsible for testing should have spent more time on it, or management should have allocated more development time for it, because this is going to come back and bite them in the @$$. Iterative development, people! Iterative development! (if you're not a software developer yourself, you might not get this...)
  4. Let's try to keep this topic constructive, shall we? You aren't really listing any specific bugs that the developers can work on for the patch.
  5. I have not yet reached Onderon, but I had the same sort of problem with the Telos Swoop Race. I believe it's a logic error in the program. I missed a jump and ended up stuck on the track, so I forfeited during a practice run. From then on, no matter what time I get or whether or not I finish (practice or real), the desk guy tells me I had a nasty spill. Also, another logic error in the same spot. When I have a spill, I do not have the option of taking a practice lap. I have to stop talking to him and then then return. However, neither this, nor saving / loading fixes the problem stated above. ---------------------------------- Other problems I've noticed so far. Utility droid dialogue sometimes skips completely. I believe that the dialogue transitions at the end of the soundbyte (speculation) and the application is not finding the sound file, therefore is skipping. Some dialogue frames on Paragus were putting an extra nose on my character's cheek. Maybe it wasn't a nose, but there was a nose-like bulge coming out of the side of my cheek. That's a big no-no... I had to application crashes on Paragus, but have not had any since.
