Liking the game and saying its the best ARPG ever are two different things. Im cool with people thinking this is the best hack n slah ever as long as they cool with me saying they are wrong.
Saying "I think this is the best hack n slash ever" is not wrong. The key words, "I think," are important. Obviously there is something about these words that confuses you, whether it is because you are ignorant, not very good at English, or both. You are at best a very persistent crusader against things other people like but you don't and at worst a very sly troll.
Why don't you do us all a favour and push the "log out" button right next to your user name towards the top of the page?

Oh, sorry, my bad. What you just said that no man with a sane mind (or unthreatened) would actually say they liked the game.
Still doesn't change the fact that people have opinions, and, believe it or not, they differ from yours. Obviously there's no fun allowed in your home when it comes to Dungeon Siege III.

There is no difference between the multiplayer on PC and consoles. It is "working as intended." Not a lot of people are happy with the way it works, but let me ask, have you even tried? Did you just rage quit the moment you saw the game had a shared camera?
It says on the back of the box that it requires an internet connection and a free Steam account. If you missed it it's your fault.
You can change the way voice chat works from within Steam. Just go to "Settings" and "Voice" and choose "Use a push-to-talk key to transmit voice." If you choose not to select a key then no matter what key you push the voice chat won't work.
Are you sure the patches you're forced to download have bugs that make it unplayable? I mean, are you really, really sure?
Because next patch will bring in customizable controls for the PC.

Amen brother! Unfortunately I posted a thread very similar to this and apparently most of the foks here like the water down lame ass chocolate covered crap that is dungeon siege 3.
I'm sorry if you feel that way, but the truth is people don't necessarily share the same opinion.

It may have the name Dungeon Siege in the title, but that does not make it a Dungeon Siege game. I can't believe you put out this **** and try to pass it off as a Dungeon Siege game. There is nothing in this game that is specific to Dungeon Siege. Sure it has all the elements that EVERY other action RPG has like looting, the third person isometric view, etc... But that does not make the game. Dungeon Siege did things that no other action RPG did. The levelling system for one was completely original, what ever you used (i.e. melee, combat magic, nature magic, ranged) was what you levelled up in. There was no earning points and putting them where ever you wanted, it was a simple, effective RPG levelling system that made sense and worked very well! You could also have pack animals, DS2 even added pets that could fight by your side, and also added special abilities that allowed for a devistating attack every now and again. I understand that it has been a few years since the last DS game, but to take everything out of the game that made it Dungeon Siege is going to far. Chris Taylor should be ashamed of himself for allowing this to happen, and obsidian should get sued for destroying a good franchize! I hate this game, it sucks, and I want my money back!

Right, I'm royally pissed right now. Bought the game hoping to be able to play it on the 17/18th thanks to my Icelandic address linked to my Steam account (which also confines me to games available in the Icelandic region, not other regions). Boy was I wrong. Turns out they geotrack my IP which leaves me without the game I pre-purchased for another 1.5 months. This is ridiculous. I can see how they would like to keep the game off the streets until the localized Japanese version is ready to go, but this makes it even impossible to play the imported PC version of game (in case of boxed retail version) until it's officially released in Japan, even though I have no intention on playing it in Japanese.
So, dear Obsidian staff members, is there any possibility to have the game unlock for Japanese IPs when it is released in the United States on Tuesday? Because I see no reason for you to keep it locked. I have already put down money for it, it's preloaded on my computer, it's practically ready to play RIGHT NOW. Since those who import the US/EU versions for Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 to Japan can play it the moment they get into their hands, I don't see the rationale in giving PC users the short end of the stick.
In fact, this is the perfect example of where pirates have the superior position, because not only can they play the game (even if it's just confined to single player), but they don't have to put down money like I did when I pre-purchased it.

After buying Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood on impulse I've felt obligated to finish Assassin's Creed and Assassin's Creed 2, which I had on the PlayStation 3 before. Playing through the first one seems to be more a chore than fun, but thankfully I don't find the impulse to do things like killing the templars or finding all the flags. I only have two targets left, so it should be over very soon.
With Dungeon Siege III released I'm not sure whether I'll jump straight into AC2, but I guess I will be playing it along with DS3 in the coming weeks.

Yes, you are completely correct. Dungeon Siege III is nothing like Torchlight, Titan Quest, or Diablo as far as gameplay goes. Did you figure it out all by yourself?
Seriously, they've said in interviews that Dungeon Siege III is not trying to be Diablo. If you played the game expecting a Diablo clone that's a mistake you made on your own.

8.8 was honestly a little high for a game you'd basically imply as "just a fun, solid title", in my opinion, but then again, score inflation and all. Still.
Although he didn't pull it to revise it, he pulled it because review embargo is still underway...

Fallout 3 changed gameplay, but at least moved the setting to the East Coast.
Dungeon Siege 3 takes place in exactly the same setting as the first game (Kingdom of Ehb) and even re-uses some locations, along with changing gameplay. I can imagine the butthurt is even greater this time.
I don't see a lot of difference between moving the physical location or moving the backstory forwards 150 years. You're fighting with strawmen here.

I expected a mindless hack and slash bro-op game, but I got so much more. I'm even more excited than before I played the demo. I do realise it's not what Dungeon Siege fans wanted, but I cannot say no to a good game, and it sure does seem to have lots of merits on its own.

I left town for a week so I've been playing Final Fantasy VIII on my PSP for my regular video game fix. I'm about 44 hours into the game, close to the end of disc 3 and just about getting my ability to roam around with the Ragnarok. Playing it in Japanese is confusing, though, because the name of the monsters and items differs quite a lot (obviously) so when looking through FAQs I get slightly confused as to what they are on about... it makes crafting the Lion Heart a bit tricky.

I've been quite busy with job hunting these past two months, so I haven't been able to play any of the heavy duty games. Instead, I've been playing BEAT.TRIP RUNNER, and I can confirm it is awesome.
The game only has three levels, and each level is broken into 12 parts, 11 rhythm platforming parts and a boss battle. The tunes are catchy and it's extremely challenging, because if you fail one part you have to start it all over again, so there is no forgiveness. Each part has a set number of gold bars to collect, and if you collect them all you can play a Pitfall! style bonus round for extra points. Trying to get a perfect score on each part is really challenging, but I've put more than 17 hours into the game and I cannot say I'm disappointed with the $10 I put into it. Totally worth the money.
However, now that I've completed my job hunting I can finally start playing some of the big games. I've got Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Killzone 3 sealed, and I also have a fresh copy of Dragon Age II which I'll have to play through, although I'll think I'll start by finishing Dragon Age: Origins on the PC. Since school has been delayed for a month due to the March 11th earthquake I guess now would be the best time to play games!

I checked out The King's Speech last Friday and really enjoyed it. The best bromance I've seen for years. Colin Firth was wonderful in his role as King George VI, and Geoffrey Rush did his part extremely well despite looking like a badass villain as he always does. There's just something about him that makes him so villain-y all the time.

Looks like someone knows nothing about what he's talking about. CRPGs originated in the West and Japanese RPGs were inspired by games such as Ultima and Wizardry. Specifically, Final Fantasy was inspired by Dragon Quest, which was inspired by Ultima/Wizardry.
And of course, before that we had tabletop games, the biggest and most influential one being Dungeons & Dragons.
