  1. If you have two characters named the same, quicksaves and autosaves will be overwritten.  The game doesn't seem to keep track of individual profiles like the first game.  So, POE. Bob and Bob - each character has separated saves including autosaves in their character profile.  In POE2, Bob and Bob the game will automatically overwrite any quicksave/autosave in both profiles at the same time.

  2. I don't know if it's doable with GoG Connect, I think they can't access your licences list (I already checked and the DLCs are there even for me that I redeemed on GoG), just the public game list on your profile (and the DLCs unfortunately are not in that list).

It is.  GoG connect allows them to directly "tie" any DLC items that exist on your steam account to your DRM-free gog version.  Topico 5 is a good example of this, until I had all the DLC it only gave me the DLC that I already had.  My guess it's more that the backend doesn't have a list of the items yet, and they just need to hammer it out with GoG.  GoG to Steam on the other hand?  Yeah doesn't exist, but it sure would be nice if it did.

Anyway, OP, other who's compiled the codes.  Deepest thanks, I like the idea of the scavenger hunt but have zero time to actually dig through stuff to find it.

If those are not interesting mechanics and they bog down experience, instead of enhancing it, then yes. It’s like saying more writing in game is better.

The underlying issue with PoE loot is not that there is a lot of it, but that 90% of it is a junk you have no use for, except destabilising local economy by flooding market with hundred spears at a time.

The big problem in CRPG's has always been money to buy things, it really hasn't changed all that much since the days of Fallout.  That kinda leaves you with two options, changing the way currency/trade is handled in the game or simply allowing lots of junk loot and letting people decide just how much they want to haul around.  I take the second option.  The upside is in most newer CRPG's the weight system is far more forgiving either not existing at all or allowing a "magical stash" to simply ship items off to.

The best option is to allow a "junk/misc" option like in Divinity OS:2 and let people throw stuff into there then dump it all at a trader.  That is unless the dev decides to be sneaky or there's a design change and use one of those junk/misc items for crafting and you didn't know about it.

This is effectively making side content a requirement to avoid being under-leveled for the end-game, though.

That's pretty much it right there.  Not everyone is going to do all of the side content, I'd hazard a guess that they figured the average player would complete 25-35% of the side quests and balanced it around that.  Remember those of us who are posting on the forums, are the minority in this case and past experience(by app reporting and so on -- see the stories on ME2/3 on this for example) is most people only do some of the quests.

  5. I love how you think anyone will take you guys professed motives seriously when your posts lecture about how misgendering is ok.

Like, credibility went all the way out the window there.

I find it hilarious that people get so bound up in gender, and have to scream from the rooftops about how important it is to them.  And it's so important, that they'll continue to scream because they misconstrue a limerick into something else.  That credibility?  It went out the window when you pinned everything on your sleeve and screamed "muh feelings."  Meritocracy and egalitarianism seem to be foreign concepts to some people.

That's not a man, and that IS a joke. As certain people are so fond of saying grow a thicker skin.

Oh, and to the idea that she's not actually a fan? Nope. Rather loves the game. So, y'know. It'd be nice if you'd stop attacking her with that kind of BS.

Joking about genocide or gendercide is a joke?  Well, I guess that means that the original was just fine too right?  You can't have it both ways.

  7. Yes, how dare the devs cave to the demands of their fans after committing to serve the interests of... their... fans...

    Waitaminute...

At the end of the day, their job is to take backer/fan feedback and do what they think is best to make the best game they can. That's all they did here. I, for one, am glad they made the right decision, because making their backers/fans feel welcomed is important, and I'm sorry to all of you who disagree with it. But this? This isn't what censorship looks like, and calling it censorship is an insult to everyone who actually has to live with censorship.

I'll drop $20 that the people who whined and cried on twitter over it are not fans.  They don't own the game either, rather they live for the perpetual outrage cycle that they love so much.  They whine, cry, and get upset because it generates epeen points for themselves and their friends while giving them "warm fuzzies" because they think they're actually doing something to help the world.  Of course, they'd never get their hands dirty with something that's an actual issue.  It seems that going by the forums(including steam) the vast majority didn't want a change, though from what BAdler has said, the original is still in the game.

Removing something because others whine and complain over it, is a form of self-cenorship and falls under what's called chilling effects.

I'd pull up some quotes, but apparently her tweets are protected now and not open for public view. Which, if she was getting harrassed on facebook and stuff, doesn't surprise me. I'll be honest though, some of the things I've read (on both sides, although the hate for trans is especially cruel and surprising) have been terrible. For the most part, I think the mods have done a good job of keeping that out of these discussions, but I think in another thread someone mentioned some rather hateful messages on steam or something. I can't support that by any means - so good job mod for keeping that stuff out (as far as I can tell).

To be honest, many of the people who get all uppity to complain something and love to spout the genocide line start claiming harassment the second that a spotlight is actually shown on their ideology and agenda.  They'll also run screaming around flapping their arms claiming that a public forum is private, and whining about how people are invading their 'safe space' and all that.  The reality is, they want people to do what they tell them to do.  But if you dare question how much of a racist, bigot, sexist that they actually are for their own statements they get all upset.

  9.

Very much so. At least from what I can tell.

People insinuating that Obsidian should change it is bad enough by itself, not to mention those that are blaming Obsidian for being transphobic. Not everyone have been polite about their critiscm and politeness (This thread being a clear if limited example) has nothing to do with bandwagoning. Do not even try to make one "side" of this innocent. Do not even try making this into something akin to the gamergate "war" where both sides profess innocence.

Pretty easy to figure out which side of the issue you can be on with this, and which side is innocent.  One side wants the original to remain because it has to do with freedom of expression and speech.  The other doesn't and believes that their self-invented version is transphobic, and in turn they want it censored because feelings.  Personally I have a problem with anyone that wants something censored because it hurts their feelings, in turn I believe that even if something is highly distasteful it should be available for the public to see and each person can decide on their own if they want to look at it or not.

The same applies here.  This is not 'part of the story' you do not have to look at it, you don't have to invent flimsy reasons why it hurts your feelings either.  I will say that if someone like George Carlin was alive, it'd be shaking his head in disgust at the number of people who get their panties in a twist over something that offends them.

  10. Cities: Skylines currently has several mods available for it, created by users, while Pillars of Eternity will receive an expansion in the coming months along with a sequel in the future.

What? Is a sequal officially stated? I didn't know that.

There was something on bluesnews a week or two back that an expansion is coming/in the works already.

  11.

I'm not sure I can handle another "its the fault of SJW that Obsidian did this or did that"

Those that know me know that I am absolutely committed to SJ causes and I can promise you following

    • we are not responsible for the death of JFK
    • we are not responsible for the financial crisis of 2008
    • we do not influence Obsidian on gaming design decisions

Guys don't believe what GG told you about us, its just not true

You know I don't think mentioned that.  Then again, there are plenty of sjw's who are 'absolutely committed' and go out of their way to ruin peoples lives for holding the wrong opinions in their view.  They also go out of their way to make mountains out of mole hills, there are also plenty who will lie through their teeth and use the playbook of  alinksky, to turn something that isn't an issue into said mountain.  You may or may not have noticed this, but while you don't fall into that mould, plenty of others do.  Much like they'll go out of their way to disrupt public events, push companies to fire someone because of the private actions, and so on.  There is no justice in any of those actions, those are the actions of a mob of people who are perpetually offended because of their own petty reasons.

What you think "GG tells people about you" isn't the thing.  It's the actions of sjw's themselves that's causing the pushback because they've had enough.

  12. I got news for you both if you think companies like Obsidian and Double Fine only care about equality when it literally infects them like a virus...

I need to laugh every time someone talks about this or that company "submitting" to "SJWs".

Except it's not equality, that's the problem.  Tell me something, if a bigot comes up to you and tells you that you're a bigot, do you do what they say?  See the backer memorial bit, look into the person and people in question and their actual statements then come back and tell me that it's "for equality."

I'll save you some time and whatnot, it's not.  Rather it's all about them, their epeens and how much they think they're "making a difference" by attacking something innocuous and creating their own narrative on it.

  13. I would hate to see another company submit to the whines of SJWs.

SJW's aren't the market, so a company submitting to them makes no sense.  The only value that they provide is the amount of whining, and their threats to the company in question.  I'd actually say they're no different than al sharpton or the mob.  "Nice company you've got here, it'd be a shame if someone called you guys sexist/misogynists/racists/etc."

  14. please god yes

and to all the defenders: imagine browsing a webpage and seeing ads all over the top and sides of the page. you can't choose not to see them since they are everywhere around what you are looking at. having to play wheres waldo to find the normal npcs to talk to is really annoying. i can't even make out the name tag color difference most of the time.

if it were a $10 game its easy to forgive this nonsense but for $45+ they shouldn't shove these amateur fanfics down our throats.

I have to ask, are you colour blind?  I could see that if it was the case, otherwise it's very easy to tell the difference between the two.

  15. It must be the selection of games I play, because this is definitely NOT one of the most bug-free games I have played. I certainly weigh major bugs a lot more than minor ones, of which this game has too many. This is one of the more buggy games I have played on release, at the very least in terms of major bugs.

The only bug I've run across so far in nearly 33 hours of play is the one relating to double-clicking on items to equip them.  I'd be interested in the list of bugs you've found that are major, since going by your post history you haven't posted a thread in the tech forum listing them, and how to reproduce them so they can squashed.

  16. From my experience the hirelings are paid when you return to the stronghold. I saw the notice and assumed I had to talk to the "Steward" or the hireling themselves to pay them. After I traveled to the stronghold; I got a green notifier that they were paid on screen transition.

Seems to be every x days after you hire them.  They always list "not paid" until their payday comes up, it goes away for 24hrs or 48hrs then goes back to not paid.  I haven't really paid too much attention to it as my hirilings always get paid directly out of my on-hand money.  I think the big problem is the lack of an explanation of "how" they're paid and when.

This is what I see when they're paid.

  17. I'm not sure that the old games were any more suitable for children. The one I remember best is Baldur's Gate 2. It literally starts with the protagonist and company being tortured for no apparent reason. In the same starting dungeon, you find the clone of a woman who was created to be the stand-in for the torturer's former lover (and you have no choice except to kill her) as well as nearly dead people trapped in glass jars (again, the best thing you can do for them is kill them). At the very first inn after escaping from the dungeon, you can encounter infidelity, drug addiction, cruelty to animals, slavery, gladiatorial combat and, naturally, several flavors of murder -- and this is not the darkest material in the game by far.

You're right, they weren't.  I bought the games for myself, but I was always more mature than my age, I could also strongly distinguish fiction and non-fiction easily.  I used to watch horror movies with all the gore, killing and everything else because at the tender age of 4, when my parents asked me what I thought of them I responded "they're cartoons for adults."   That probably has to do with the fact my parents taught and instilled the differences to me.  This is going back oh 31 years now, kids these days(I live in an area where it's becoming gentrified as the old folks move out and new parents move in), don't seem to grasp this at all.  Their parents are also not as strict, or explain things to them so it makes sense.

The world be a changin' but it sure doesn't seem like the best in some cases.

  18. Pure craziness.  If you're letting your kids play this, and you're afraid of the swear words but not the serious dark plot actions within the game you have more serious problems.  And I'll put up $20 if they don't already swear like my grandfather did when he got out of the navy.

The entire, "swearing bad" but "rape, murder, torture, sending people off to be eaten" a-okay thing doesn't compute.

  19. During the KS the devs explicitly said they where designing it this way to give people more options then "slaughter everything just so you can get the most XP out of the world".

They have balanced it nicely doing that.  Now when I manage to finish a quest by deceiving or out smarting someone I still get the same XP as I would have had I ran in guns blazing and a fireball launching.  It is a great option to have compared to other games where I am forced to take no prisoners just to make sure I get to level up enough.

This was one of the things I liked the most, and there are several other games that do that option just as well via stealth mechanics.  i.e. skipping enemies and finding secret paths and all that.
