Nothing you've posted is a solution, not even on linux. Randomly posting multi-monitor setups does not help at all. The issue is in game. It's a sadly common issue in many recent games that always gets addressed after launch.

Just got this issue as well with my first attempt to load a quick save. I've loaded probably a dozen regular saves, but the first attempt at loading the quick save results in the black screen of doom. This required a force quit. I tried loading the quick save again and got the black screen. Another force quit. I loaded the prior (regular) save to make sure it wasn't broken entirely and that worked. One last try at the quick save and it loaded...really odd.

This bug is frequent for me as well, but as another user pointed out the fastest fix (at least on a fast PC) is a quick double alt-tab.

Finally signed up and was just about to add a few copies to my pledge when I saw here that co-op is out (thanks for the links Ieo). My wife just started gaming with me and she likes paced rpgs. This woulda been perfect! Oh well
