Christians should emulate Jesus, not use the old testament as justification for killing people.
You're suggesting Jesus was a man of peace?

I'm not looking forward to the next Dog Soldiers movie, Dog Soldiers: Fresh Meat (groan).
I agree with some of the sentiments from some people at IMDB in how to screw up this movie:
- Have the yank troops shout "hoo ya" constantly before, and after each werewolf battle in that yankee 'macho' marine style.
- Have close-ups of marines "gearing up." You know the sort of thing - clips being slammed into rifles, grenade-belts being strapped on, knives shoved into sheaths, camoflage make-up being applied...
- the new wolves are "smarter, faster and more deadly" but yet the "small US forces unit" is gonna whoop the wolves arses right after the british army struggled with the normal werewolves?
But then it is the trend in sequels made by Hollywood to throw in a load of American soliders, so I suppose it's to be expected. The co-writer/director Rob Greens plot summary states that the events of this movie take place at the same time as the original movie. WTF? There was no mention of American soldiers in the war games. Also, Captain Ryan is in this movie? That would mean, this movie apparently starts before the werewolves attack coopers team. So pretty much this movie will be taking place during the attack of the original crew from the first movie, right? meaning they are supposedly happening at the same time? Who knows.

For the last week, I've been watching a few B grade movies that have come out in the last 6 months or so. Such as Komodo vs Cobra, Sabretooth, Wilderness, Broken, Stay Alive, UKM: Ultimate Killing Machine and Altered. Some were quite good which really impressed me, whilst Sabretooth was just plain woeful.

I just download the music videos and convert them to mp3. That way I have both the music video and audio files. yeah youtube is bad.

Sounds like a squirrel on crack.

BS or not, I just can't stop smiling and chuckling visualizing this event. Driving down the highway, glancing over at some guy strapped to the front of a semi... not to mention all the awkward phone calls the police station must have recieved.
It just cracks me up thinking of how many people must have rubbed their eyes and said 'what the...?'
LMAO.
Probably couldn't get on any rollercoaster rides so this was his next best thing. And he still has his sunglasses on.

My first thought when seeing this pic was "Cesar Romero".
After seeing a young Cesar Romero in the Joker role, my expectation for this movie just went down to zero.

Finally caught up to Alien vs. Predator on cable the other day. With great shame I must admit I enjoyed it. I even learned a few things, like I didnt know that the Aliens look the way they look because of them hibernating in humans. I always assumed they naturally looked that way and used humans as a living incubator but the movie clearly shows they incorporate parts of their hosts physiology.
I didn't know what to think when I saw Aliens vs Predator in the cinemas the first time. I thought it was appalling at first, but then when I got the DVD out, it was so bad, it then passed the bottom of the curve and started being good again. Certainly, you don't look for any logic here, lets not bother too much about the script or direction. This film defines what cheesy & corny dialogues should be, "the enemy of an enemy..is a friend" (...OH LORD). It sucked when they put pred's in this movie the way they did with being too wimpy... they shamed their race of truly badass motherf@$%kers. I don't care if they were young pred's, they should have been a bit more badass. The funniest bit was when I mistakenly thought the protagonist was going to kiss a predator.
But it worked for me as a Romantic Comedy. I mean that scene with the Pred and human running side by side with the explosion behind them, i have not laughed so loud in a long time. And the ending, A better ending would have been if the girl fell in love with the "good" predator and then the spurned mother alien turned up. Has anyone besides me ever wondered how she's gonna get back to civilization? all the people that can sail the ship are dead aren't they?? Paul WS Anderson is a nearly coming second in a two horse race with Uwe Boll.

They should export that pig to a third world country. I'm sure that would last a village for a month.

Anybody know what the civilian casualties were, compared to military casualties?
If Wikipedia is any guide to go by...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falklands_War#Casualties
In total 907 were killed during the 74 days of the conflict, Argentina - 649 and United Kingdom - 258. There were also 1,188 Argentine and 777 British casualties in addition to the war dead

I like old anime the best. Macross, Lupin, Outlanders, Lodoss War, Fist of the North Star, Battle Angel, Heroic Legend of Arislan, Bubblegum Crisis, Ninja Scroll, Blood - the Last Vampire, Vampire Hunter D, all of Miyazaki movies and movies based on Shirow's work. Most of these are pre 2000. :|

^^ My thoughts were exactly the same with Deja Vu.
Last three movies I've seen recently are 28 Weeks Later which was good but I felt the original was better. Shooter with Mark Wahlberg was a good popcorn flick which I enjoyed. Pan's Labyrinth I really liked.

I don't expect customer service when I go into a shop so I'm never disappointed. If anything, I dislike employees coming up to me asking if they can help me. I know it's their job, so I try to go in and get what I need and get out as fast as I can.

Didn't notice any allegories when watching BSG. But then I'm just watching it for the entertainment value and not looking for meanings.

To prove his case Thompson intends to present neurobiological research that shows how children's maturing brains are organically conditioned to respond in certain ways to specific types of stimuli. Over time, studies suggest that learned responses become hard-wired into the brain. Video games can be particuliarly effective tools for that wiring because they are interactive.
I'm going to have to sue the Church concerning the Bible as it's arguably the most violent book on earth. Who's looking after the kids that have to go to scripture? Our children are being hardwired with all this violence.

Well...why the displeasure that it hasn't been mentioned?
Didn't you just mention it?
No displeasure on my part. It was merely an observation. If there's any displeasure, it seems to be coming from people like yourself that I did mention the show.

Already moving up my list of favourite people.....
Regardless, you made a comment indicating the lack of Dr. Who, and he gave an explanation.
I'm glad I'm one of your favourite people. Thank you. I simply wanted to correct a misunderstanding that I wasn't asking a question.

Dr Who is NOT an 80's early 90's show.. I would classify it as a 70's show if anything
Dr. Who is an 80's show as well as being a 70's and 60's show. Unless you discount all the episodes done by Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy during the eighties.
-
Well the thread is about 80's and early 90's shows, with the first part covering tropical shows. I am pretty sure that remit was fullfilled (unless anyone can think of another show) so it is perfectly acceptable to widen the remit to other 80's and early 90's shows. Mr Barlast has kindly amended the thread title to reflect this fact.
I'm not sure Dr Who fits because it is a brtish sci fi show spanning five decades and it is still running.
It stopped in 1989 and has been revived after a decade. I don't see a problem with it being British or sci-fi and not mentioning it, since the thread title covers all genres.

Despite the fact that he contradicts himself by saying he isn't?
"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household." - Matthew 10:34/35
"Then said he unto them, . . . he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one." - Luke 22:36
There's a lot of contradictions in the Bible. Here's just a few of a lot of contradictions. Should we kill? Has anyone seen God? Does God live in light? Is God peaceable? Is God omnipotent? Does God tempt people? Does God change his mind? Should we steal? Should we tell lies? Was Jesus trustworthy? The answer to these questions is both Yes and No. You can find both Yes answers and No answers.
Also, is God good or evil? According to the Bible, different parts of the bible says he is evil and other parts say he is good.
