  1. So using the in-game history editor does spawn Vela for me (for both the choices available) but upon repairing the ship she does not appear in the crew member list nor appears inside the ship at all. I imagine it's going to be the same for those who spawned her with the command console?

    Oh, for crying out loud.

Remember to make a new bug report about it.

  2.

This saddens me. I can't be without my orlan child, so it looks like I can't play the game for a whole week. :(

Vela is mandatory. If I ever decide to import my characters that didn't keep her I'll actually make up a new story, just to include Vela.

A workaround if you don't care about achievements: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/97425-vela-not-spawning/?do=findComment&comment=2008937

  3. Hey guys,

If you want Vela to spawn on the beach for your saves you can use the commands:

    iroll20s

    SetGlobalValue n_Vela_State 7

Make sure you do this before you ever set foot on the beach, otherwise it won't work!

Also the "n_Vela_State" is case sensitive.

Also also this will disable achievements, if those matter to you.

Let me know if you have any problems =)

You are a god among men, and not the soul-sucking home-wrecker kind.

It's fair to assume she'll probably interact normally throughout the game with this?

  4. So in order to avoid the bugs regarding Vela and Eder I created a history rather than importing (After first starting with an import) however Eder now mentions going home to see his family rather than becoming mayor. Just wondering if this is in fact intended or also a bug (since its not mentioned that it can be fixed with creating a history, unlike Vela) as want to get to playing as soon as possible but also worried about potential outcomes caused by this seemingly changed history.

Thing is, if they missed the decisions that obviously affected even the earliest game, I'm not sure I trust the savegame importer *or* creator to get anything right in the mid or late game. It's a little disheartening.

  5. Won't wait. Like some others, my first play through is for the story, so I'd play on normal and not be fussed about balance. As long as it arrives in the same state as Pillars did, I'll be happy. If I enjoy it as much as Pillars I'll play through on harder levels, and then I'd want balance and bugs to be worked on.

Having said that, with my internet access being as slow as it is, it's going to take a couple of days of downloading anyway, so hopefully anything completely broken will have been fixed by then!

There are bugs with the story too. Already, importing a save has a tendency to mess with Edér and/or Vela - the latter doesn't record if you abduct save her.

It's kind of demotivating in the first couple of hours that an imported save is already likely to not be correctly recorded.

  6.

She's supposed to be in Vilario's rest, yes?

She isn't in my game, despite me keeping her in my imported save. Anyone else?

She's bugged. It was stated in known issues, a fix won't come until next patch which will happen only next week.

The only way to make her appear is to create a manual legacy, but there are other more severe bugs there, like incorrect Eder ending, for example. So it's your choice.

    Dammit.

Is his Night Market ending bugged, I've only seen the note about the mayor. Since he led the night market in my game anyway, that's fine with me.

I just find it frustrating that all the little flags will get removed but gotta save Vela and I'm not waiting a week to play. Don't suppose there's a command that'll safely restore her?

Does anyone actually read these "professional" game reviews any more? Speaking for myself, I haven't taken these paid shills seriously for years, I look at user reviews and nothing else.

You think major corporations don't disrupt those?

It's far more worthwhile to see that:

1: There's a general consensus among the professional reviews.

    and

2: Fan and professional reviews match up.

A good example of the latter being remarkable is Dragon Age Inquisition, likely due to the reviewers focusing on the core game and players expecting more from the side content.

In other area, why rely on "professional" media when random blogs and my cousin's facebook page are so much more trustworthy?

Well normaly atleast when i read player commnets/reviews i read atleast 15+ and read the comments. When you read a "professional" review theres ALOT more filler lines and with the same time you can maby read 2 reviews and they are prob from similar sites. But best way i think is find smaller review sites/youtube channels that try to be professional but don´t got thet backing from the industry and therfor prob got a more health view on the game.

The smaller youtubers can often be bought more cheaply and some are actually just extensions of companies. Far from all, mind you, but your point doesn't really convince me.

  9. I cannot decide yet between singleclass Wizard bec. i love wizards or SC Monk ;)

Im not a huge fan of multiclasses, bec. i want to get the most out of my chosen class, but i can see the benefits of a MC too ofc.

    So...deciding deciding...:>

Rly powerful spell-thrower of a rly powerful melee....

Why not both. Why not... Muscle Wizard.

Seriously, the amount of ass kicked surpassed my expectations, seemed even better than a battlemage or arcane knight. The swift self-bugging made the core monk powers really powerful, there's not so much danger associated with close range abilities like jolting tough, and you can still melt fools with noxious burst, as a hellwalker, boosted by your insane stat boosts..

I originally thought SC wizard. Probably still will... but if I were to multiclass, it'd be to a Sage.

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is a sequel that surpasses the original in nearly every way, and is an RPG that should not be missed.

Gellarde! well done. A formidable RPG in the old style. They don't build them like this anymore, you know. Not by the mainstream. Too niche for the publishers.
    Pallegina best companion/waifu

Yeah, the way she inspires her companions with aura and song and summoning creatures to do her bidding and... Saves everyone with paladin powers... And...

    Guys, is Pallegina the leader?

Dex of 4, you're so uncoordinated you can barely walk on a slightly uneven surface without faceplanting let alone wield a weapon but you have godly strength and endurance that's nice.

This isn't D&D. This game's system borrowed the 3-18 numerical range out of tradition, but it was not designed to encompass such a wide range of outcomes. 3 is the lowest you can go and still be a heroic (or villainous) adventurer who can reliably jog across a dungeon level (etc.) without incident. The least dextrous person on the planet probably has a DEX of -15 or something.

A lion has an intelligence of 5. At 4, you're basically a spider, and not the intelligent, floating kind.

  12. Like an idiot, I didn't save the game before letting Xoti join, and as I picked single-class Monk I can't tell you much about her Priest sub-class. I do know from watching Cohh play she has at least one unique spell she starts with.

However, here is what her unique Monk Sub-class does.

Copying the link only, rather than inline-image, so those that want to be surprised can.

Same with this. It's an item she starts with and it's very powerful and may sway how you build her. I know it would have me, had I known.

The latter would ruin her casting fist on the faces of her enemies though, right?

The former sounds very useful for a priest/monk, since it means that casting a damaging priest spell that kills the target would work as well as well as a melee weapon... Wait, imagine that class coupled with a wizard. Damn.

  13. I'm actually considering Xoti as Priest/Monk. My current 'alpha team' (Working team name: "What is a tank?"):

    - Watcher (Wizard singleclass)

    - Edér (Swashbuckler)

    - Pallegina (Herald)

    - Maia Rua (Scout)

    - Xoti (Priest)

It seems like the team could use a decent 3rd front liner. Do you want a priest casting constantly or is throwing 1-2 buffs, then smacking fools and casting once in a while worthwhile? Anyone who've played a Contemplative who can comment?

  14.

I just don't believe they would refuse to payback their workforce. That would just lead to massive loss of workforce and no one would ever want to work for them after a stunt like that. It might have been a off-hand comment or meant as a joke. But as serious comment, just seems out of this world and would leave them open to getting sued by their employees.

The question is, why would MCA make up a story like this, which can be so easily refuted by anyone in the company? He is either believing that nobody will testify against him and makes a bluff like this, or ...you know... it is the truth. And this is true for everything he said. He made soooo many harsh claims in the last few days, and he knows that he has to prove these if he is getting sued for defamation. Now he is either an idiot, or knows that this is the truth.

I guess Chris' friends at Obsidian have multiplied, he claimed earlier he only has 1 friend left at Obsidian.

He might have only 1 friend, but several people he is in good terms with.

He doesn't have to prove them true, the ones suing him would have to prove that he's intentionally lying (not simply misunderstanding or accidentally misrepresenting) with intent to harm the company.

Damn yeah, I confused them with the Frermàs mes Canc Suolias. To be fair, they seem to share the same general Italian city-state temperament.

For a long time I didn't realise Old Vailia and the Vailian Republics were different things. As I understand it Old Vailia is the crumbling remains of Grand Vailia, which seems to be the Roman Empire of Eora (thus perhaps Old Vailia is akin to the Byzantine Empire?); whereas the Vailian Republics are, as you mention, basically Italian city states.
More western Roman i think. We don't have much of a comprehensive map of Eora that I know of, but it seems (to me) that the large nations are seperated by seas. Old Vailia seems to have simply lost central authority in a 'one of many divisions of China' sort of way.

The geography is interesting to me. Are the large factions other than the Eastern Reach basically Australia-sized continents, each dominated by one faction?

Is Eora smaller than Earth or does it have even greater proportion of sea (80-90%?).

Old Vailia could be an interesting setting for a sequel, with various factions trying to unite the country their own way. I'd also like to see Aedyr.
