    That +4 bonus was from your intelligence modifier. Or dexterity. I forget which one affects security.

    I gave my character a security skill of 1, and then bashed the first container I couldn't unlock. It didn't work and I got a broken item.

    I found it quite useful, since as a weapon master I used master speed before every fight anyway, so it was a nice bonus.
