bad bad bad publicity Obsidian, your're negleting your bakers, the guys that saved "your asses".... so come on, give as a 1day headstart... ;(

Bad publicity? They announced the game will be out by the 26th and it will be, so far as I know. Deal with it dude, this has been known for months.

They also said the keys would be out 'probably Monday or Tuesday' so they have one more day (PST of course) to get us our keys.

They also said we will get the phyiscal rewards on release day, which they still can make ... hopefully.

This is funny. Evryone can buy this game on Steam and pre-load it, but me - who give them money like 1 year ago - can't. Seems fine to me. Im not gonna buy any **** from them in the near future.

FFS, game will be released in two days. They still have time. One day or another won't make a difference if you can't play game before 26th anyway. Some of you act like children (Mommy! I want that new toy NOW!!!) or women with PMS.

You backed this game because you wanted it to make real, or because you wanted to brag that you get the steam-key before anyone?

That depends on your download speed, maybe someone will actually take days to download a game?

Then that person must be very silly in considering/ordering DIGITAL copy. At KS campaign there weren't any information that backers will get keys before release anyway. So it's not that Obsidian cheated anyone.

They might have ordered the physical edition like i did too, but since that will take weeks for us in europe to get here and even more weeks after for the DVDs they have no choice if they want to play this week.

You are aware that all the physical stuff has already been shipped, yes? It's all in transit, and scheduled to be delivered on the 26th. If it isn't, that'll be due to local postal services.

They said that is not the case for european customers though. They will get their stuff weeks later for a hefty 30 $ shipping cost even.

You will be able to play, the second the game is released. So what does it matter? Don't be "that" guy.

    Oh, come on now.

Well i will download it with 60 Mbit/s but even here in Germany there are areas where you have to live with speeds below 1 MBit/sec

Yeah not only that, but we will also not get the physical goods this week in Europe which would have influenced the vote about when to ship it.

Still i am very glad that pillars even happened and i do not mind having paid 290$ for it even though with that amount i seem to be second class, because it was paid upfront.

Hopefully Pillars gets so huge that they can make a Baldurs Gate 3 or Iceind Dale 3 within the D&D Rules.

  7. I don't think Obsidian or Paradox wants to deal with the torrent of angry e-mails carefully constructed and worded carefully by loyal fans frothing at the mouth while waiting for their 14GB download to finish while the non-backer peons are already chest-deep into the character creation screen.

    Cause you know, priorities.

Honestly though as long as I get my key by Thursday I'll be content, though earlier would be cool too... *hint hint*

Yeah and they should also start shipping our boxes now.

Steam needs to die now, or at least see some real competition to stop them from engaging in this anti-consumerist behavior.

The massive amount of sales Steam does is anti-consumerist? There's not much anti-consumerist about Steam beyond its terrible customer support.

I'd say the indefensible difference in regional pricing is just about as anti-consumerist as it gets.

GoG does that particular one so much better, by offering you a coupon worth whatever you pay in excess, that you can redeem on your next purchase.

Just think about it, some people cannot pay as much for games as most of us can. Now steam could sell them the games for the same price as to everyone else, but in those countries games would be for the elite only. So its not that we pay more, its they pay less. In my book thats very much pro consumer. Anti consumer would be abusing that and getting the games for the cheaper price and hurting the guys making the games with that.

The real problem is that we cannot buy some games in germany even though we are mature and they do block the activation of those games here.

Yes they are considered media indeed, that is why I said I think Im getting old. It is nice you can be so positive about it but seriously, people would get inspired a few days later just the same. Its kind of the same feeling when you would get the game a day or two later than the release date (later than others). Its actually pretty much exactly the same thing.

Agreed. But I'd bet I'm older than you :p. This is just one way the world is changing. The younger generation (generally speaking) wants things right NAOW, and they're focused on social media so that's what companies are catering to with the streaming youtubers.

Biggest problem for you, me, and others like us is not getting hit with a truckload of spoilers before we get to play it. Here's to having a spoiler-free experience! *lifts glass*

Well i don't think age has anything to do with really wishing for the day to finally arrive. I am 40 myself and really wish i could already play for example :p

  10. Apparently our European friends need a tutorial on the mysteries of geography.....

The funny thing is that i ordered many physical collectors editions of games which were shipped from the united states and arrived on release day or before here in Germany.

Ask SoE how they do ship Everquest 2 or Vanguard that fast (hint they use UPS Express delivery which takes 1 to 2 days from the us to germany).

Yes that is more expensive, but i would pay that extra money after i already paid 290 $ for the Box already too.
