Good idea I think with buffs and debuffs being on opposite sides. It would be a lot clearer. Closer zoom would be handy and also outlines for character models when they're behind walls.

Try turning off v-sync in the options. I had the same issue and I haven't had it since. Disabling v-sync doesn't seem to make a lot of difference anyway.
