  1. By the looks of it, I don't think world building tools will become available. It looks like each of the levels will be hand-made in a 3d modeling package (3ds max, maya, blender), rendered out as a flat image and have some sort of 2D walkmesh overlay on top. I could be wrong though - I'm anxious to see what a functioning area looks like.
  2. If they're going for the infinity engine look and feel, then tactical pausing is definitely the way to go. But as someone else has stated, ToEE had a great turn-based system. And I know this is a small thing, but having the creatures and the environment actively animating while making your decisions is pretty cool (trees swaying, creatures fidgeting, heroes in a looped battle stance), something that the freezing pause takes away. Who knows how they'll do it though...
  3. I pre-ordered the game on Steam and I'm actually glad I did after playing some of the demo last night. Nice graphics, smooth combat, and good music. It feels like a positive evolution in the Dungeon Siege series. The only thing I'm a bit iffy on is the inventory screen. With how much loot you obtain, it would be nice to have snap access to the equipment menu. Unless there's a shortcut I'm unaware of, I had to click through a couple of things to get there. Not a huge deal, but could become cumbersome if the loot rate is that constant. Overall, it's a thumbs up from me - great work, Obsidian!
  4. Dig those sewer SS - thanks for the update, much appreciated!
