Personally I'm sitting on a certain amount for my pledge but I'd really like to up it to the 65 dollars one for a physical copy especially with player houses in but.. truth be told the only thing that would give me that 'umph' is if they add romance options. I'd personally be upset if they announce them after the fact that pledging is over which makes me think that it's hard for people to fully pledge unless they know what's going to be in it. I know that games do hide certain elements until the release but usually it's like who's going to be a companion and such other things not game play elements. So, all in all, is anyone in the same boat as me? Just waiting for a certain news so you can up your pledge?

Honestly I'd love to see some of the darker sides of romance. For instance Cullen from Dragon Age: Origins. There was a joke going around how he stalked and was obsessive over the female mage origin. People thought it was creepy and it's frowned upon while I, love it. I love creepy/twisted/dark romances. Bring on the jealousy, possessiveness and all. A form of that in japanese term is yandere (http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/yandere). Thinking about my romance option obsessing over me and killing what they believe is a romantic rival and being possessive just lights my fire! Mmm, yea~ Aside from that, I think possibly along the lines of sacrifice your companion for say like the health of a child or such. That also reminds me of a good decision in Fable 2 is where: All of those are morally grey in some way and end up with a sacrifice in some form. Your either lonely, selfish or greedy. I personally liked the decisions and chose B myself.

Pretty much this. Aside from me missing Torment actually having romance options they ignored my list and post apparently. I find it funny how they automatically equate romance options to 'soft-core porn' and such. How old are you to think romance equals sex? Give me a few "facts" and I swear I'll pay them attention and respond. If you may look back on the last page, you did respond to my post by saying Torment actually had romance (which I sadly can't edit that post anymore) but you nay gave a respond aside from that.

What I find funny is people saying 'going back to roots' and all. Well what does RPG stand for Role Playing Game, that doesn't translate into Role Playing Game With No Romance What-so-ever. If I want to ROLE PLAY with a romance option, that's my perogitive, if you don't then that's yours. I shouldn't be, along with the fans that WANT it, punished because of fans that don't when it will be, again, OPTIONAL! Lets also see about the games that they have listed under their credentials: Baldur's Gate series (2 had romance options) Icewind Dale series (none) Planescape: Torment (none) Fallout and Fallout 2 (had romance options) Fallout: New Vegas (had romance options) Arcanum (had romance options) Alpha Protocol (had romance options) KoTOR2 (had romance options) V:tM-B (had romance option) Neverwinter Nights 2 (had romance options) Dungeon Seige III (did not have romance options) Temple of Elemental Evil (had romance options) I dunno about you but majority of those HAD options. I may be missing some but still a good portion did.

The hell do console TBS games (and whatever Harvest Moon is, I never could tell) have to do with PE? And if anything is massively ego stroking in modern games it's the romances and all the player sexual characters who see you as the centre of their otherwise pathetic worlds. Coincidentally I do not remember this "dark side of relationships" ever explored in wRPGs. Do tell. And THAT is my point. PE could do that if they wanted to since this is going to be a 'emotional writing and mature thematic exploration' as they put it. Are you saying love and the products of it are not an emotion? And with that I'm done feeding you. Can't believe you're the only one that posted that so far. Most of the options makes too many assumptions and gives little leeway. This poll is awful. I mean think about it as well, wouldn't a nice loving companion be welcomed in your group? Most games are adding romance options now since it seems to be such a welcome addition which draws a lot of customers despite the naysers. The thing is what kind of costumers? I am sure adding gritty over the shoulder camera and cover shooting mechanics might draw CoD fans too. Let's do this, it will make trillions! SLAMDUNK! The nonsense you mentioned is not. You are right, most games are adding romance options now (please disregard they are all bellow bodice ripper level, everyone is doing it) so we should dedicate resources better spent elsewhere so we could have some in PE. How could I have been so blind? Okay, so your saying that games like Fire Emblem for the 3DS and Harvest Moon and all that are 'boddice rippers' as you so eloquintly put it should take out the romance options despite being a big factor in it? Fire Emblem has as well for the 3DS since the inclusion of My Unit and the generations with romance options been the highest selling one to date. What? You want a game where it will stroke your ego and your the hero and everyone sings your praises and everyone idolizes you and no 'true' love? Awww, does someone have attention issues? Romance is everywhere, romance inspires, romance ALSO has a dark side; ie, jealousy, obsession and all that which could add a whole LOT to a game.

I put my two cents in for the intellectual kind. I WANT romance in it. Just because 'you' don't doesn't mean the millions that do should suffer. Get this, it's OPTIONAL! You DON'T have to romance anyone. Anyway, to make it fair I think there should be the steamy and intellectual for both kinds for both genders. IE' Morringan in DA:O was the hot, Liliana was the intellectual and for females Alistar was the intellectual and Zevran was the hot. That way everyone wins. Romance add depth to a game, makes you feel closer to the characters and world. I am often influenced by my romance option in games for decisions based on it.
