  1. How about Perfectionist, has anybody gotten that trophy? I've played through the game twice now, and I don't get what I'm missing. There isn't really any hidden quests that I'm aware of. Just go around and make sure not to skip any areas of the towns. Crap, I think the one where you talk to Mudgutter AFTER the big vote is the one I've never gotten. Video scene must play and take you elsewhere automatically.
  2. So I opened up my game so I could get some help with the 3rd JK fight. Well, afterwards, we went down the stairs and I quickly saved before they could screw anything up. Well, while saving, they must have been in the spec screen or something, and now the game is glitched and I can't choose anybody except Lucas as my companion. Anjali and Reinhart were the players they chose, so it's no coincidence I can only choose Lucas. And I have absolutely no gear for him. Also, after the save, the 2 people in my game proceeded to spend all $80,000 of my money and sell my stuff, so I had to boot them and restart. Wonderful "multiplayer" you guys got here! Just smash up job! I'm shocked that anybody opens up their games to the co-op for anything more than help with a boss, because it's almost guaranteed that they will screw up your game. I'm just curious how any of you play this so-called "multiplayer"? Whether you join or host, how do you do it? For instance, when you join, do you buy things? Do you sell? How do you spec? I feel like a mic is needed, and they should ask permission for all of this. It's seriously a cringing nightmare hosting a game. And I don't want to screw up somebody else's game either, so how do you guys do it?
  3. Like I said, point blank range I take out ice crystals in 1 hit, every time. Go to the edge of the guns' range, and it takes 3-4 shots. Try it out. What this means is that these guns have an even shorter distance that previously thought. Or it's a bug with the ice crystals, which I doubt, since it doesn't affect the rifle.
  4. I just got Enduring Champion, well after the Deed popped up, like 4 hours of play after, and I'm playing on Hardcore, so I take damage. I also am having trouble with he Merchant Of Ehb as well. If you notice how much you're selling when you come back from a hard days plundering, you'll see that this trophy should be quite easy to get, and you should have it by the halfway point in the game. I'm at the end, and still don't have it.
  5. 245/137 with dual guns and 248/114 with the dual guns. I use Warding Ritual a lot, and dodge out and use rifle. Standing there in their face with dual guns is a bad idea later in the game, so I use rifle just for surviving.
  6. You do realize that Nathaniel is the Lead Designer for the game, right? Nope. So then it's confirmed that the definition of Ability DPS in the help topics is BS then? I just am going by what the game tells me, and I think it's stupid to go by anything else, unless it's extremely obvious otherwise, and not just "Hey look at my crits they're high and I have lots of Will." So because I'm not a "hardcore player who will figure it out", I've been adding too much Attack (instead of Will) for no reason? So does this mean that since Will is equal to Attack, since it compensates? See, I actually was doing just what he was saying in a way to calculate which is better. What I would do is say OK, it takes 3 normal attacks to build up Focus for this ability, so that means that 30 Will would be equal to 10 Attack in that circumstance (might be 40, I can't think right now, but something like that). So if that's done automatically, that means that Attack and Will are equal? Ugh, frustrating, fail on the help topics. I guess it is a single player game, and this technical stuff "doesn't matter", except to those who it does, because that's what they like to do in RPGs.
  7. I spent HOURS grinding the same areas over and over, saving and loading, just so I could get to 30 by the end of the game (trophy). I just looked down for the 2nd or 3rd time, and realized I haven't moved a tick past 25! Are you serious?! How do you get to 30?
  8. So I just now noticed that distance matters for damage, at least with Katarina's dual stance. I happened upon this shooting crystals in the mines, noticing that it takes a few shots to knock them down from distance, but they go down in 1 hit up close. Had I known this, I would have stayed away from the dual stance entirely.
  9. I've taken over 100,000 points of damage, and I even got the Deed for it, but my PS3 trophy hasn't popped yet, anybody know why? And what other trophies are bugged that anybody knows about? Because that's pretty much why I continue to play.
  10. So you're saying that Ability DPS really has hidden compensating damage? No. If you have 30 Will, and you have 30 Attack, your abilities will be doing 60. There is no difference how you distribute your Will and Attack when it comes to abilities. This is why Attack > Will, not including talent multipliers. This is why I don't choose Will unless it's significantly higher than Attack, because all those times you're attacking using normal attacks, you're wasting damage (if you chose Attack over Will), so it damn well better be made up when that ability comes along. Saying that 10 will = 10 Attack is like saying that 1% greater crit damage is the same as 1% greater damage overall. Obviously 1% overall damage is way better than 1% overall crit damage. One is used all the time, one is used sometimes. Simple as that, Will is used only part of the time, Attack is used 100% of the time. There are plenty of people out there who say Will rules all, but they can't prove it, only say they built some awesome build and it does lots of damage. I'm trusting Obsidian, which could be a mistake, I dunno, but it's all we have.
  11. Although I've only played Anjali and am now mostly through the game with Kat, I notice the opposite. Her rifle and dual wielding have been side by side the entire game. But then again, I choose Attack and Agility over Will, unlike most people (who think the game is lying/broken about just exactly how lesser Will is compared to Attack, with any character.), so maybe that's why.
  12. I'm talking about if somebody joins your game. If they do, they can totally mess up your game. They can buy tons of ****, waste all your gold, and screw your companions up. Trust me, I've seen it. So what I'm saying is, don't ever host your own game unless 1. You trust the person and they know what you want done 2. You don't care, just messing around.
  13. Anybody notice that Ability DPS isn't really used in this stance? Every other character uses it in both stances (I'm assuming), except for her. Caress Of Suffering, if it uses Ability DPS, it's over 13 seconds. Warding Ritual, if it does, you have to max out Painful Rebuke, else it does no damage. Black Hound Familiar, does that use Ability DPS? See what I'm saying though? There is nothing like Heartseeking Shot in this stance, which flat out just adds Ability DPS to Attack DPS and boom you do lots of damage. They're all effects. This is why I'm choosing Attack over Will on my gear, and on the dual guns, I'd choose even 5 Attack over 20 Will, since I see no use for it on the dual guns.
  14. I didn't even play the first 2 DS games, so I'm not biased at all. With that said, it's hilarious to even compare this game to D3. This game's multiplayer is a complete joke, which disqualifies it automatically. It's like comparing any single player RPG to WOW, it just doesn't work, no matter how similar the fighting or whatever may be.
  15. So basically, we don't know **** because Obsidian won't tell us. If you're going to make this game even remotely compete with other action RPGs, we must know this. It's not like we're asking for a formula for some non-RPG game that it completely doesn't matter in. The point of RPGs to many of us, is to sit there debating and calculating what to use and spec. I had a friend who would just "try" things in games like Diablo 2 and WOW, but I explained to him that as nerdy as he wants to make me out to be, he's probably in the minority, or he at least should be. It's more than just button mashing with random weapons and skills, and this game proves that, but yet Obsidian completely failed in giving us more info on things.
  16. So nobody knows anything about this? I just read that the multiplayer and single player characters are separate, at least that's what Obsidian said right before release. I can say this is false, as my Lucas is still ****ed up. According to what Obsidian said, if you join somebody else's game, the money, gear, spec, etc. all stay with you when you leave, so when you join somebody else's game, you will have that same character. I say this is false based on what I'm witnessing. Just messed up that I can't let people join my game for fear that they will do the aforementioned.
  17. So, I was having major trouble beating Rajani. I even went back to an earlier save, leveled up 2 levels, then went back. Still couldn't beat her. So I enabled "multiplayer". I then finally beat Rajani (by myself). Well, the stupid "you must spec your character right now" screen popped up, and while spec'ing, somebody joined. I rushed so I could boot him, but it was too late. He completely ****ed up Lucas for me, somebody whom I wanted to use when I finally got him. (Which BTW, I can now magically use somehow, even though in story I haven't gotten to him yet.) So, how can any of you play like this? Letting people join your game, just so they can spec your characters, buy/sell your items, and make choices for you? Is this really what the game designers had in mind? There's multiplayer, there's co-op, but this is "Hey, come play with me, and I hope to god you don't **** my game up."
  18. I must be the only one who thinks this game is not replayable much due to the fact that there is no true multiplayer, but rather just the ability to join somebody else's single player. I see all these posts, reviews, etc., with comparisons to D3 and other games like that. Um, this is slightly better than a single player game, so not sure how people are talking about this game as if they're gonna play it 100+ hours.
  19. That's probably because of a talent. Your talents do factor in to your damage in the DPS section. For instance, Lucas's Will talent maxed out will add 50% Will to your Attack DPS. The question is, will it then in turn add it back to your abilities, since Attack + Will = Ability DPS? Who knows, but it at least adds it to your Attack DPS, thus being worth it to trade equal Attack for Will. Basically, unless you're saying that what the game says in the help topics is not true, then 40 Attack > 40 Will, ignoring talents.
  20. Why should it be about ME? The forums shouldn't organize themselves after my own desires. The reason why it should stay I named before: For organisational purposes. It looks better, relvant threads are easier for others to sort out. Clobing everything together into a big pile helps nobody. My argument is that the pile is small though. Obviously you'd divide it up if there were posts being made every hour. I'm just thinking that if a section has less than one post per day...
  21. First off, I'm aware you're playing in somebody else's single player game (there is no true multiplayer), which might not be obvious by the questions below. 1. Does difficulty scale with amount of players? 2. Are gold drops increased, or is it the same amount of gold? 3. What if I buy something in somebody else's game, did I just use their gold that they may have been saving, and they could get pissed at me? 4. Do you only get to use what the person has equipped/spec'd? For instance, if they've only been using Anjali as their sidekick, and I pick somebody they haven't used, does that mean I'll have to spec them on the spot, and also gear them? Which brings up question 3, bigtime. Makes you almost want to be able to tell people, hey, if you're gonna play, make sure you choose the character I have geared.
  22. This has been already discussed on the forum many times in many topics. Basically, Obsidian Entertainment crossed the delicate line from streamlining over to dumbing down which impoverishes the game. I guess they think people are not very smart or literate or something. Also the randomness and lack of uniqueness of chaos statistics is a problem because you then can't make specific builds out of them, like lightning build or fire build, since chances don't stack. Hopefully all of that and more will be addressed in the upcoming DLC. This game is certainly too good to be abandoned, pretty much has the most fun combat system of all ARPG games. Really? The only thing I know about this forum in my experience is that it's dead. Wish I played this game when this forum had people on it, if it really did. The people who aren't very smart, and the people who just don't care, both of them won't pay attention, regardless of what's written, so who cares? I can't see how giving a more specific description, with numbers, would be bad. Think those dumb people or people who don't care would see a number and say the game is too complex, but yet they're fine with "does damage over time"? No.
  23. Technical Support, yes, I agree that should be separate. But the rest of them? Seriously, are you gonna go into The Chapterhouse and talk about builds with yourself? Or are you gonna come in here, where you might actually get a response? Look at the total posts made in all the sections, and tell me the others need their own.
