This quest made my head hurt. To resolve it peacefully: - Perception check on Lilith. - Find Log book. - Most important, and reason why it took me way too long to compete, READ the logbook in your quest inventory. - Talk to Niah - Convince Maervith to talk to Lilith.

I thought it was my imagination but my save-times have gotten increasingly longer. Glad to know I'm not alone, and hopefully a fix will be coming soon. I'm getting close to Act 3 now.

I got that shield too, but it didn't give me any active skills to "bash". I did notice however that my paladin hits twice and has two accuracy modifiers on the character screen. So I'm assuming "bash" means you can hit with the shield... like dual-wielding but you get a deflection bonus.

I'm using Lucas, playing on Hardcore and it went pretty easy. I got lucky on some drops though, but I mainly stacked Vampire. With that going and your graceful repose, him summoning minions is actually a good thing. Since you can just eat their health to refill yours while doing a hit and run on the boss. I've yet to die with Lucas on Hardcore, while at this point I probably reloaded a dozen time using anajali. If you're not using it yet, vampire at the beginning levels .. kind of overpowered.
