i wasnt saying dont buy the game. im just surprised at anyone in this day and time that would plunk down 65 bucks on a game they know nothing about..unless of course $65 is pocket change..
-
why would you preorder a game you obviously know very little/nothing at all about?
-
It looks okay, but unfortunately Alice: Madness Returns comes out on the same day and I'll be getting that title on release. So I'll wait a bit with this one.
pc or console? are you in the usa? cause i think this comes out a week after alice on consoles here in the us..

... and cut scenes are just beyond cheap and lazy...
Strongly disagree. I prefer this kind of cutscenes over the cinematic approach of other games.
Edit: Just to be sure. I'm speaking about those paintings.
thats your choice my man..i dont understand it and i dont agree with with it but thats your opinion..

ive decided im not going to buy the game till its about 30 or 40 bucks..as bad as i wanted it im not going to pay full price for it..i cant support a lot of the decisions made regardless if it was obsidian or square..while i did enjoy the combat and found the graphics and voice acting were ok the mp and cut scenes are just beyond cheap and lazy..not anywhere near worth 60 bucks..just my opinion if you dont like it thats your problem..and im already sick to death of the blatant fanboyism here..its just ridiculous..
oh and that map is just pitiful..

just my opinion here but im betting they were thinking..thinking that the way they did it was a lot easier to develop. a lot of it just seems like they didnt want to do the work maybe due to time or money i dunno..but the mp thing and the cut scene thing just seem lazy and cheap to me..the more and more i think about it the more pissed off i get that they are trying to pass this off as a $60 game when its looking more and more like a $15 xbox live game..
you're talking about SquareEnix, right? because they are the ones calling the shots.
could be..but someone made some bad decisions and its gonna cost them im afraid..

Dungeon crawlers will always be judged on the MP. ALWAYS. So understanding this what the hell is Obsidian thinking?? It would have been better if they had just made it an action/rpg and ditched MP altogether. This is the same as if Sacred/Diablo had come out with lousy MP. Just plain terrible decision to put this game out in this condition.
I think the obvious answer is: Obsidian weren't thinking.

apparently its all for the sake of the story from what i understand..so what i dont understand is why go the cheap route and not animate/cgi your cutscenes if the story is supposed to be so important?
-
the dialog and voice acting in the first two worlds is the most awesomely terrible ever in a game..its really bad..but i loved it..i really didnt pay attention to it in the ds3 demo though..
-
taking all the heat...doing most of the damage keeping all or most of the enemys focus on you and being supported by the others in the group..
-
you mean like the inventory screen on champions of norrath where you see the items on your character?
Yes, It's just like what we see when we press I (inventory) button in Diablo 2 or Dungeons Siege 2.
im sorry i never played those..
-
i paid 20 bucks for two worlds and put over 200 hrs in it..i got more than my moneys worth out of that one..after the big patch of course..
-
i realize that..ive been around a while myself..i actually tried to join this board months ago but could never get the activation email..
i just want a good game worth the money i pay for it..

Is there a paperdoll inventory screen in Ds3 (for pc) like Dungeon Siege 1 and 2? This feature is so critical to me, if the new dungeon siege doesn`t have it I won`t buy this game. I hate classical Rpg style "equipment" screens, you cannot see the whole item with this screen and this makes me doesn't want to get new loot...
you mean like the inventory screen on champions of norrath where you see the items on your character? im not sure about the pc but on the 360 demo you see pic of the items and their stats and it compares them to what you already have equipped..

It's pretty terrible hey... all the Obsidian fanbois going on about how great Obsidian are for this sort of thing and god damn it's so bad...
if you think they are bad here you shoulda seen them at the fallout:nv forum..my god..pretty much the game was golden and anyone that said different was troll..and all the problems with the game were just lies..
-
im curious which "you people" your referring too..i think im a little insulted..
-
i enjoyed the combat..the stances are interesting and will take me a little to get used to but i like it..i saw a lot of complaints about it being slow and not feeling tight which i didnt see at all..
-
touchy touchy...apples and oranges..apples and oranges..
-
as bad as i hate to say it i think they need to delay another few months at least to try to fix some of these things A LOT of ppl have voiced concern over..
-
From memory, you are meant to have different starts, or at least different ways in which the starting bits unfold, depending on choice of character... because of course you're meant to run into the other 3 characters along the way and thus 'unlock' them for that campaign. This unlocking obviously doesn't apply to co-op, so I don't know what happens there, though.
thank you that makes me feel better..

and dont be so defensive its just my opinion if you dont like it dont read it..i keep getting told everyones entitled to one no matter how wrong or obtuse it is..
Yup. I just gave my opinion too.
Also why I went defensive
the more i think obsidains just lazy. You can call me a fanboy, but I have a personality where I'm seeing someone or something getting insulted unfairly I jump on defense for that person/thing. Its a little charachter flaw but I like it. Probably wouldn't have said anything otherwise.
im still stung from my fallout:nv experience..and i want so bad for this game to be good..i just have very little faith in obsidian..

how in what i said makes it sound like i want every game to be the same? and from what i saw in the demo what you said about "personalities/dialog and certain npc interaction" really wasnt present..a little difference in the dialog yeah but wow not really that interesting if youve pretty much did the same thing with another character..
-
i just said how...
plus why make such a big deal about how great the storys gonna be and have 4 different characters if its gonna be the same for all of them..the more and more i hear about this game the more i think obsidains just lazy..well i always thought that but i had high hopes for this game..
I am sad
