  1. Yes it isn't what i was hoping for (a better sacred2/diablo styled game) and that DOESNT make it a bad game just a DIFFERENT game. Some will live it, some will like it, and some will hate it. Everyone has different tastes in games as previously stated. There is nothing wrong with that. But this is an important thread (even though there is a tad bit of bickering like all forums) for people who have played the demo and are able to share there honest experiences and be able to compare it to other games so others can decide if it is something the will like or not. Please understand I am not trying to be rude or mean about anything.
  2. It's up to you what kinda people you play with it and how many different groups you play with... and there's always the single player to keep you busy if your friends don't want to play as actively as you do. your right and that is exactly what i said .. the game will make a good single player not a good online game .. and with the ammount of people that play online they are really missing a huge market and fan base
  3. TBH, I wouldn't play with a friend who'd do that. Besides, I doubt they can sell the stuff your char wears. Can others even see your cahr specific loot? You can check the AIs gear AFAIK, but I doubt you can redress PCs, especially when they're offline. ok let me ask you a serious question .. do you know what "henchman" coop is? im not trying to be rude i just want to know Nope, but it sounds familiar. Something to help players on different lvls play together? Or am I confusing it with something else? lol you are definatly confusing it with something else...what your talking about is a leveling system type play much like sacred 2 ...if u n i were to play co op, i would get all the loot all the xp all the coins id level up id make all story desissions (you as a henchman can "suggest" dessicions but ultimatly not make them) and you wouldnt get anything or get to do anything unless i joined (your game) so the insentive to play co op online is not there cos who wants to be just a meat shield really.

  5. Because a: story is their strong point b: it makes DS3 unique among rogue-likes. ur missing the point ... but i guess ull be the one who will buy it then complain later on some forum about how the coop sucks edit: see the guy above me understands 100% .. tahts the point im trying to make... not that its a bad game just it feels a bit outdated No, I was just answering your "question". And again no, I'm going to be the one who won't give a rats ass if there's co-op or not. I survived Gears of War without it, I survived Freelancer without mp, I managed to play through Alpha Protocol without mp, I won't have sleepless nights 'cause of DS3. ok so what this whole thing was about was that th coop was and now your saying you dont care if it does or not casue u wont be using it... what was the point of talking about coop if u werent gonna bother with it?
  6. Because a: story is their strong point b: it makes DS3 unique among rogue-likes. It doesn't make it unique. It makes it a throwaway title instead of a classic that can stand the test of time. yes and that is really sad.. i knew several people that were looking forward to it.

  8. Umm to play it with your buddies like once a week continuing the game you started together? Yeah if u intend on not playing it until your friend comes back in one week ... that falls under the casual gamer i was talking about and i said that the casual gamer will like it... in another post
  9. And I absolutly will .. just giving my honest review so people can read about it and decide for themselves.
  10. halarious and true... I was never expecting anywhere close to that... maybe im crazy but when i think of drop in and out coop i think of borderlands and sacred 2 .. where if i drop in and then drop out i actually get to keep the stuff I worked hard for.. Lets be honest .. there is no incentive to play it online
  11. out of all that ... that is all you have to say? Whether they created the hype or the fans created it, that doesnt matter. The point of the matter is: you shouldn't be going on about an "intriguing coop system, that we think everyone will like" and let down the hardcore gamers. I said it will make a good single player game, But NOT a good online game; maybe for the seriously casual gamer, but not for the majority
  12. Level 30 Cap, predefined charachters, highly limited customization (It has more depth though but that doesn't really matter here) No, it wouldn't have lasted on online basis and it wasn't designed that way. Do you work for Obsidian? Level caps can be raised and all of those other points were just bad ideas...so I guess it was meant to be a single player rpg-lite and not a arpg like the previous Dungeon Siege games. Bad ideas all around. Oh, thanks for your generous insight of how games or an rpg "should" be. Truly I'm amazed. Not an 'RPG' in general, but that is how Dungeon Siege should be. You have to be careful taking an existing series and drastically changing it, especially if you are going to remove many of the elements that made it so successful (from a fan base perspective) in the first place. Obsidian took a risk by drastically altering what Dungeon Siege is, and from the response in the forums many are not happy about it. This is one thing you seem to be missing in many of your posts C2B, you are not looking at these arguments from people who really enjoyed Dungeon Siege, and the key features that made those games so great for them. You are looking at it from an 'this is how Obsidian do it, too bad' perspective. I mean if a developer is going to get our hopes up by reviving a series, they could at least stay true to it, and not create a 'sequel by name only' game. I have downloaded the demo and gave it a good 20 minutes or so before i turned it off. I have played the other installments and i have to say i am really dissapointed in this one. I was expecting an epic co-op with some emphasis on a great story line. I had friends from all over the world waiting on this game to play over LIVE and really have a nice dungeon crawler like Sacred 2. BUT ohh boi was i wrong .. All i can say is I cannot belive that developers didn't learn form the FAble 2 era ... i mean reallly???? All of this aside. It will make a great single player game and should be considered as one NOT an online RPG. Mechanics are good. I like the different stances and the awesome amount of abilities. I was dissapointed to see that the armor and weapons system was a bit lame ... none of it shows on your character (a bit like the out of date arcade and previous pc title Torchlight). I had hihg hopes for the game, BUt i am not paying full price for a game that doesn't live up to what it was hyped up about. Sorry DS3 u will loose many followers as did the Fable series
