I wanted to share a creature suggestion that I think would fit perfectly into Grounded 2: the recently discovered fluorescent Crowned Crab Spider (Smodicinus sp. nov.) from Angola. What makes this spider stand out is its incredible blue fluorescent markings, which give it a unique appearance unlike any spider currently in the game. Its coloration already looks like something straight out of a sci-fi survival game and would make it instantly recognizable to players. I understand that this species is not native to a North American backyard setting. However, Grounded has always balanced realism with creative and memorable creature designs. The spider could potentially be introduced as a rare exotic species, escaped specimen, or special encounter while still fitting within the game’s world. I also think its crab-spider body shape could create unique gameplay opportunities. Unlike wolf spiders or orb weavers, it could rely on ambush tactics, sideways movement, sudden pounces, and UV-themed attacks. Its fluorescent blue markings could also inspire unique armor sets, weapons, mutations, trinkets, or status effects. The species was only recently discovered, which makes it even more exciting. Including a creature based on it could introduce many players to a fascinating real-world spider they may never have heard of before. Thank you for creating such an amazing game and for considering community suggestions. I would love to see a creature inspired by this spider appear in Grounded 2 someday.
