  1. Hello all! I know this post is a year old, and the info is out of date due to all the awesome updates (THANK YOU OBSIDIAN!!) but I figured I’d give some updated information for anyone like me that found this page searching for answers: For starters, the original post and the first comment is still factual and is a LOT of help for those unfamiliar with the game. Thank you both for the great write up after your testing. It helps a lot of people out even if it doesn’t feel like it, so thank both of you if you ever see this:) Second, I’m not sure if this worked in the original version of the game or if it was part of an upgrade, but upgrading your weapons or armor to 3/3 but NOT upgrading it to the next level will cause dropped gear to have 2/3 upgrade levels. Why this is important is because the bottleneck for upgrading is always going to be the herbs. Note on this below Obsidian dev team* And an item with 2/3 or 3/3 will break down into herbs AND Adra if unique. So, there is certainly a formula to obtain all the herbs you need to get to superb in Dawnshore. I have not done it yet, but I’m sure someone will. If I don’t see any posts about it soon I’ll run a few tests and figure it out, and then I’ll come report. If someone else wants to do this before me, then your goal is going to be getting one piece armor or weapon (whichever has more uniques in Dawnshore) up to either fine 3/3 or exceptional 2/3 to 3/3 (whatever is possible) before looting all uniques. Keep in mind that each stage of upgrade gives 3x the amount of parts. Common gives 2-3 Paridisan ladders… but fine gives 2-3 Talons, which break down to 6-9 ladders. Good luck! Note to devs The way you prevent players from upgrading gear is really bad… I LOVE your game, but as stated previously, it makes the game feel lame. I go from exploring and fighting and enjoying your beautiful world to just running around trying to find herbs all over the entire map. It sucks and is boring. I have over 10 days of playtime at this point…. 250ish hours playing, but I honestly dread trying to find herbs to upgrade my gear. Please stop this and stop worrying about players wanting to become powerful. That’s the entire reason we play these type of games…
