  1. This is a common problem. For me, it is most likely to happen when I control T3-M4, but can at times happen when controlling the Exile... You can't prevent that from happening. The only way to unstuck your character is the one you use: save and reload. (the loot should still be there after reloading but you can actually get it even when you're stuck. Click on it, you'll see. You can also open footlockers and such...) Fortunately it doesn't happen that often.
  2. I'm with you. But TOR is already produced and set to be released in a few months. It'll kill the KOTOR storyline probably by telling us that our beloved Revan was killed like some punk by the Sith Emperor... I think LucasArts is aware of the fan disappointement but simply doesn't give a damn as long as the game sells and that it pays their secondary residence in Barbados. But yeah, it angers me too. If they wanted to make an MMO that bad, they could have at least created another franchise and left the KotOR story open for those willing to finish it properly. Obsidian for instance.
  3. The droid merchant is just in front of the doc's house. You really can't miss it... He looks like those protocol droid who act as tour guides on some of the planets you visit... As for the glitch, it is actually NOT a glitch. HK units are programmed not to attack each other, therefore when HK-47 is in your party he does not take part in the battle and stays several yards behind (and rejoins the party afterwards) This does look rather awkward but you have to remember that the HK-50 storyline wasn't properly completed and refined by the developers...
  4. I don't have much of a problem with using the mouse... Do you check the radar before aiming and firing? Coz if you don't, yeah you could have a hard time (well, not that much...) hitting them all in time... Do not move the mouse around constantly, chasing them randomly. Pick one, wait for it to approach the Ebon Hawk and fire. Their attack maneuvers are always the same. When you get the gist of it, it becomes piss easy. (you can actually destroy most of them in the first second, since they all start right in front of you)
  5. I'm with you here. But personally, I enjoyed the game thoroughly even without the Restored Content. I also agree that K2 had better writing, better character developement, better immersion, I enjoyed the dark and serious atmosphere, though K1 had a more epic story, more likable characters, and was a finished product. That's why, just like you I would have prefered Kotor 3 to be made by Obsidian. The Star Wars universe definitely lacks this kind of more mature, intellectually deeper material... But K3 will NEVER be made. They might keep the franchise alive and one day release another RPG with entirely different characters and storyline. But K3 as a sequel to K2 is dead and buried, since TOR is expected to close the Revan/Exile (most likely in an unimaginably disappointing way). LucasArts has done nothing but rape the best thing that happened to Star Wars since Episode V... Sometimes I wonder if George Lucas isn't just jealous of a franchise that clearly outshines his prequel movies...
  6. I don't think tech support even exists anymore for K2... Anyway they couldn't help you. This is a bug and since it wasn't fixed in any patch, it isn't fixable at all. As I said, it's only a moderately annoying bug... You won't have to control T3 for more than 15-20 minutes if I recall correctly AND you can actually avoid fighting other droids... It's a bit ridiculous to say that this bug detracts you from progressing into the game...
  7. Scrap that. Just ignore him. It's not that big deal, even though Gerevick does deserve to be killed slowly and painfully...
  8. I disagree. This is a terrific mod, I can't imagine playing without it, if only for the HK factory. The only major bug associated to it was the Red Eclipse glitch. But even that was fixed in the latest version. I'd say it's probably a corrupted save, a missing file or something. I don't know how far back you went when loading an earlier save... Try loading before you even landed on Dantooine.
  9. It's not supposed to prevent the cutscene from triggering. You can't prevent the bug, you can only fix it. Once the cutscene has triggered, save/quit without ever boarding the Ebon Hawk, and then perform the edit... The EH will no longer be under lockdown and all will be back to normal...
  10. This bug occurs when you play with the Restored Content mod... They had this bright idea to add triggers for the Red Eclipse quest all over the Nar Shaddaa Landing Pad instead of just one at the exit of the Refugee Sector... As a result, the quest will re-trigger each time you hit one of those spots... (don't get near the swoop tracks) First, one way to totally avoid this is to download the *latest* version of the restored content mod (1.7), in which this particular bug has been fixed: http://deadlystream.com/forum/showthread.php?t=240 (won't be compatible with your current save, though) Now, the only way to fix this problem if you have it is to edit you save with the KSE... DO NOT ENTER THE EBON HAWK once the bug is in effect . Under Globals > Numerics > locate the line "351Nar_Bounty_Board" and change the 0 to 1. and also 301Nar_Red_Eclipse_At should be at 0. Apply/commit change (always make a second back-up save every time you use the KSE)
  11. Exactly. Really, the game was designed for you to play with lightsabers and force powers. It's almost as if they purposedly designed blasters to be lame and downright awkward to use. They're only there for your companions to provide supporting fire...
  12. You should really focus on feats related to lightsaber/melee combat. Max out Flurry, Power Attack and Critical Strike. Also add Finesse:Lightsaber, and Lightsaber Specialization (but maybe you get that for free as a Guardian) Ditch those stinking blasters, you're a JEDI for Yoda's sake! Toughness/Conditioning really aren't necessary for your main PC, only add those when you have maxed out important feats and are left with spare points you don't know how to use... Only add Two-Weapon Fighting if you're certain you're gonna use two weapons consistently throughout the game, or else it's a complete waste... I don't think there are any *Heavy* Armor that doesn't restrict Force Powers. Armor that don't restrict them have a distinct medieval knight look and it is stated in the description that they allow to you use powers. That said, I can think of only one moment in the game where I actually needed an armor. Most of the time, you'll want to wear Jedi Robes. So Armor feats are OK, but optional. As for powers, Energy Resistance and indeed most defensive powers are completely useless in my experience and a waste of points, especially as the game progresses. Why? Because by the time you reach level 15, your PC pretty much becomes Terminator and wipes out any opposition in seconds... Master Energy Resistance absorbs 20 points, which doesn't make that much of a difference when you have 250 vitality points or more... Add only Force Armor. I think you should get more offensive powers... I mean, they are too much fun to use... and in a room full of Dark Jedi, your lightsaber skills won't be enough to save you. Light/neutral/defensive powers: Force Wave (great for "crowd control"), Stasis Field, Destroy Droid, Master Valor, Master Heal, Master Speed, Battle Meditation... Force Immunity can be useful at the very end for a light-sider. Don't be afraid to use those
  13. When the game crashes on start-up, it usually involves a problem with the mss32.dll file. You need to replace the mss32.dll file in C:\Program Files\Lucasarts\swkotor2\ with the same mss32.dll from KotOR 1. If you don't have KotOR 1 installed on your system, you can download a mss32.dll file from plenty of sites... Now, I answered you, but I probably shouldn't have since this is a fix you could have easily found yourself had you searched this forum and others...
  14. Look: http://www.google.com/#sclient=psy&hl=...2188ee12107320c Some other people encountered this glitch. Apparently "I'm broken, so very very broken" is some kind of message the devs put into the game to warn you that the game is... well, broken. Going back seems to be the only solution...
  15. I don't think it's possible to fix this using the KSE. The game files themselves are likely to be corrupted. And unless you know what you're doing, you could create other problems by trying to fix this one. Why don't you just go back? As I said, it's not like you have to replay the whole game... It's only: warehouse> Jekk Jekk Tarr> Goto's yacht> chatting with/killing Mr. Moustache. It can be done in a few hours...
