  1. The folks at GameDreamz are reporting that a third Knights of the Old Republic title may be under development by Obsidian Entertainment. Since nothing official has been announced, however, it should not be considered fact just yet. Here are the few details they speculate on:

George and crew are most pleased with the initial performance of KOTOR, so pleased in fact that KOTOR 3 is well into development! This time however expect everything to be new and improved! An all new next-gen engine is being prepped as is a modified battle system that will place a heavier emphasis on the lightsaber. There are even whispers that the game may be shown in some form at E3 THIS year, though I

  2. Rangers rarely have a high defensive capability; they heavily rely on getting in as many hits as possible first before being hit themselves (or getting mre hits than the enemy, hence the dual-wielding and highest BAB rating).

Rangers are guerilla warriors, and Degan's build certainly makes a nice "finish the job" character. It would be best combined with hitting an enemy from afar with a bow and then closing in for that big finish. That big-damage potential is nice, but it comes at sacrificing a lot of other aspects of the class, I think.

  3. Well, my sister has Zoo Tycoon installed on my PC even though I wouldn't touch it.

Zoo Tycoon is great. I don't have it installed right now as I'm not playing it, and it's not a game I like to keep on the hard drive unless I'm actually using it. For some reason, when I run any sort of system scan (looking for spyware, errors, whatever), the scan gets bogged down in the Zoo Tycoon files and takes forever to wade through them.

I plan on picking up the sequel when it comes down in price and is inevitably bundled with all the expansions that will likely be made for it.

I'd like to get Sims2 sometime as well, I had fun with the first one. I like the idea of sandbox mode a lot as well.

  4. Not really. I'm sure it'll be a must-buy when it comes out, though I'm in no rush for it, really. I don't get terribly excited over strategy game sequels, since the replayability of said games is so high; a sequel doesn't offer the same potential of all-new adventures or that sort of thing.

Granted, I really like the direction the game is going and they seem to be adding some good stuff. I hope they tweak Doomstars though; the patches for GalCiv really toned them down and took the fun out of using them.

  5. The implication there for me is to make it quite hard, and take a heck of a long time, to reach 10th level.

Which should be the case, in my opinion. In the super-fast power-leveling of a cRPG that build would be far too much, but in a P&P campaign where it can take a year or more of playing that character to reach 10th level, it seems reasonable.
