  1. I've stopped playing until a patch comes out (which will probably never happen anyway, at least not any time soon)
  2. I'm at the "Endgame" mission already. expected more, meh.
  3. TimeMarginSlack might have something to do with it, no? someone try changing it to +2.00 or something and see if it makes a difference. I'd rather someone figure out a config hack to make walking work properly though
  4. Well, I hope they are listening to what is being said. It's really only small, frustrating problems like this that ruin what is an otherwise enjoyable (albeit unpolished) game!
  5. True. Not all games work with antialiasing forced in the control panel anyway. Oh well, you could probably delete this topic if you like.
  6. yes, just noticed that. *sigh* just one more broken thing about this game I'll have to deal with I guess.
  7. I don't think anyone's listening. I don't blame them - if I had worked on this game I would probably be embarrassed to show up around here too. Seriously though, a good patch or two might actually redeem this bull**** if they can get it out quick.
  8. Honestly, how could anyone possibly be stupid and inept enough to miss a game breaking bug like this? Did ANYONE actually even test this game AT ALL!? Ugh.
  9. this seriously pisses me off. where are the game devs? what's the official word on this?
  10. Do any of the developers actually read these? can we please get a fix / patch to add the option to WALK in the game for pc users? seriously. This is more evidence of bad console porting - how hard is it to forget to add this? It's even in the config files FFS. Apart from that I actually seem to be somewhat enjoying the game - had a few awesome "Jason Bourne" type moments. Nowhere near finished though.
  11. unfortunately it means you might have to restart the whole mission though maybe... dunno...
  12. hey bro, you buy them from the black market. I forget what catergory they are under, but have a good search and you'll find them. Make sure they are equipped in your inventory before going out on the mission. They work automatically when you have them in your inventory, you don't need to do anything just use the terminal as normal and the EMP will do it's thing. otherwise why can't you do the hacking minigame? it's not that difficult.. Good luck
  13. You can take the EMP gadgets in with you that automatically bypass the locks... apart from that, not sure..
  14. maybe not, but coupled with all the other problems it certainly is. Maybe after 3 or 4 patches this could actually be a somewhat decent game..
  15. You can walk in both Mass Effect 2 and Splinter Cell (the latest one) have no idea about Far Cry but that's an FPS anyway :/
  16. Uninstalled game, removed it from my harddrive, will see if I can get a refund. Absolute crapper of a game, I expect it will be in bargain bins within a matter of weeks.
  17. Exactly. It's nothing but lazy console porting. There simply is no excuse for it.
  18. There must be some way to tweak one of the config files or something - COME ON SOMEONE. The ability to walk is obviously in the game but it just needs to be set to a key or something, but I have no idea how.
  19. yeah, and I get what you're saying, but it's still just idiotic and lazy and absolutely ruins for me what seems like could be an otherwise somewhat fun game. even in the safehouse, when I simply want to turn around he does a semi-half-jog-walk kinda thing, it looks freakin' stupid.
  20. Nope, you can't walk in the ****ing safehouses either. HURR DURR I NEED TO RUN IN MY OWN HOUSE FOR NO APPARENT REASON.
  21. OF COURSE. Think about it, does ANYONE actually jog or run EVERYWHERE they go in real life? No. Why should it be different in a game? Did the other NPC characters in Fallout 3 or Oblivion run everywhere constantly? Except jogging isn't walking, it's just a slightly slower paced running. It looks stupid, and the only reason there isn't any option for walking is because the game developers who port the game to PC are too ****ing lazy to implement that simple option (they done the exact same thing with Bioshock 2 and had to later patch it in after complaints) sick of these stupid ****ty lazy ass console ports.
  22. This is unbelievable. What a rubbish game.
  23. I'm guessing Alpha Protocol is actually a console game ported to PC right?
  24. Again, did you read my first post? There is a separate run mode (LShift), which is considerably faster than the default jog/walk. Practically speaking, the normal jog/walk simply looks like he's running so that we don't have to take seventy hours to move everywhere. It would help if you made your case clearly - so you just want to be able to walk for immersion rather than gameplay purposes? I want to be able to walk because it looks utterly ridiculous to have the character run everywhere for no reason whatsoever. If I don't even have the simple option to be able to walk if I want to then I suppose I should take this as a good indication of the laziness invested in this game and just give up now.
  25. I found these in APInput.ini but meh: Bindings=(Name="LeftShift",Command="Walking") Bindings=(Name="Walking",Command="Button bRun") I remember there was some kind of hack that you could do in Bioshock 2 to force a walking toggle button that was similar to this. Anyone know?
