Just returned to the game after a bit of a pause (got the new expansions). my computer is a nvme SSD/64Gb RAM/gtx1080 powerhouse and the game takes for ever to load. I stopped playing at version 2 of the game when it it used to load/play fine. Now returning at version 3 and it so slow to load saves/enter areas. Please please fix this. Will starting a character fix this? My current character/game was created at initial release of PoE.

Got it to work!!! If you're an Nvidia user and can't start the game, uninstall the physX drivers that installed with your latest video card driver and run alpha protocol through steam. it will install its own version and run. at least in my case. non nvidia.... uninstall physx in control pannel and see what happens. cheers!

I'm glad it works for you bluegrass, but of all my games and applications only AP does not work. Now i would like to have a solution which does not involve a reinstall. A list of dependencies would be nice for trouble shooting. (so far game relies on VC++, ogg, phisx, openAl and more) Is there a way to diagnose/repair VC++ ?

From past experience, this error is usually to do with terrible software and no quality control.

I have the same problem as Garenth. similar system specs also, except i use geforce GTX285 and i7..
