  1. I got to wave 40 and quit because the difficulty hardly increases between each wave. I played the first 30 waves and it felt like it doesn't get any harder.

I understand making a game start off easy, but why slow down the progression?

The difficulty does continue to ramp up (when you get a few of those mothership types coming in). But the game tends to crash once I get past wave 40 though (i have gotten to wave 42 and 45, and then FF crashed).

  2. Ah, so what I am reading here you made a decision based on what you thought was best at the time, and the road you've gone down turned out to be less awesome than you had figured, so you feel you made the bad choice?

  3. What hyperbole are you talking about? ME2 shipped without an inventory system, and BIO has been selling DLC to compensate this, somewhat.

I haven't picked up any of the DLC for ME2. Is it actually an inventory, or just additional guns you can swap out (which did exist in ME2).

  4. There's been a lot of talk in the daily blog about 'ones that got away'. Those romantic flings we now regret and miss every day.

However, as you may have noticed I spent yesterday receiving a barrage of texts from one of mine. And after the intensified regret and general increase in temperature, I suddenly realised something. The correspondence got to a big enough level where I started seeing, and remembering more than the obvious pleasant features. Submerged habits and character traits which more than destroyed the positive, like a stone in a slipper.

Long story short: don't regret the ones that got away. They didn't get away. It didn't work. You moved on. And for bloody good reasons, if you trouble to think about it.

At least that's how I feel. Thought I'd bring it into the open so maybe we can all cheer the **** up.

Sorry dude, but in my case, it wasn't like that.

I blame myself for who I was, I wish I was me now - then. In which case, she wouldn't have got away.

But for the most part I like your sentiment.

Who you are now is the sum of all of who you were in the past.

You being who you are now is a result of who you were back then with her.

  5. I'm currently in 5th place (16 games into the season play) and sitting in 5th place of Blue Bet South. 3 points out of first! Also made it to 1st round of the FA Cup (lost to Oxford, a team from npower 2) and just qualified for 1st round of FA Trophy. I have a game against a Blue South Premier team for that one. Will be a good test for sure.

    Having a blast so far.

  6. I still cherish the memories! laughing.gif I mean, taking Leyton Orient through 3 divisions, winning the Premier League the first year, winning the champion's league and scoring a domestic hat-trick in the second year, and all that without reloads was so satisfying!

I started off a game with Boreham Wood :D

It's a good thing I don't know anything about who is good in soccer (or soccer in general) so it doesn't matter if I start off with Chelsea or a Blue Bet South team

  7. How many references to the past life were in New Vegas?

I liked New Vegas more than FO3, but apparently not for any of the backstory parts (I in part came to check out this thread because I was looking forward to some raging about the guy liking FO3's story structure more than FONV hahaha)

  8. Now you just sound like Volo. :)

Me not using it doesn't make it any less gimmicky and stupid.

It makes it irrelevant. Or at least it should.

You guys are the ones sounding like Volo. Seriously look at yourselves. A whole ton of bitching and whining about something I figured you wouldn't even care about. God forbid it be something you DID care about.

    Yes, it would, actually.

I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised. I guess you do care about it. God forbid the entire title not cater entirely to the whims of Oblarg. I'm sure I'll regret asking this, but if it's not something you care for, then why do you actually seem to care? It's something trivial and probably not even that difficult to add. Or is it just because it's not something you wanted?

  9. I know many that would be all over it then! XD

I think the idea for this stuff is just little gestures to encourage those not sure if they want to buy, or just to create some buzz.

    It's gimmicky and stupid.

Would it make you happier if it just wasn't there?

Because if it's gimmicky and stupid, it's easy to not use.

  10. As long as you, the customer, come away feeling satisfied with the experience, does it really matter?

I'd much rather play a 20 hour game that is 20 hours of fun than a 60 hour game that is 15 hours of fun.

  11. Played Football Manager 2011. I didn't want to play it, but seeing my brother play it got me curious. I'm now hooked and can't stop playing it. It's like a drug.

I was considering picking this up. I have downloaded the demo. The only thing holding me back is my complete lack of soccer knowledge haha. Despite that, I still love being a sports manager.

Have you by any chance found any newb guides that will help for soccer newbs too? The idea of bringing a poor team up from the lower leagues just sounds tooooo appealing haha.

  12. I thought my post was very clear.

Your post seemed somewhat random without any context.

I was assuming you'd have some sort of reason to suddenly bring it up.

  13. You really think that a piece of armor it's going to make anyone buy Dead Space? :)

Me:'Hey you there, random person #1. Why did you bought Dead Space?"

Random person #1: "it was because of that nifty looking armor for DA2"

    :x Yeah, I don't see that happening.

I do think it will make people consider getting the game to get bonus stuff. I think it also serves well to advertise both games.

Considering that I will be getting Dead Space and further in time DA2, I am the target demographic. Point is that both games have nothing to do with each other, It's like getting mints with your newly bought AK. Doesn't do much for you.

Not every marketing tool is going to be equally effective across the entire demographic. Considering the offer has an expiry date, I suspect you aren't actually a part of the demographic since you certainly don't indicate any interest in picking up DA2 while it's still expensive.

  14. The "you" is very specific. You as in Orogun.

This marketing campaign didn't work on you. You're someone that is pretty outspoken about not being all that keen on preordering Dragon Age 2 in the first place. You even stated how something like this doesn't make you want to reconsider. Since you're not even considering it to begin with, it's not all that surprising that adding this hasn't pushed you over the edge.

I'm not sure what's so hard to follow about Gromnir's point.

I'm a potential customer, if the marketing strategies are not directed towards potential buyers then I don't see the point of it.

This is just an absurd statement. Not all marketing is going to be ideally directed to every potential consumer perfectly. Because it hasn't been successful specifically to you, does not mean it's an effective campaign. Unless you're seriously arguing that every other RPG advertisement ever made was perfectly targeted to you.

Considering that I'm an RPG fan, I am DA2's target demography. They don't know me, they don't know if come release date I might buy the game in the next 10 days, I'm a faceless number on a company board. If this marketing ploy it's not to broaden their audience; attract people that might not be all that interested in survival horror or RPGs to their product. Then I'm completely missing the point here.

Believe it or not, there ARE people in DA2's target demography that, in fact, like both franchises. It's also an easy cross promotion since both games are made by the same publisher You're not one of them in this case. You're not the target demographic of this particular promotion. Stuff like this happens all the time.

Given you've already stated you aren't interested in getting the game outside of the bargain bin (weren't you also the person that said "May God of mercy on your soul BioWare, because I won't" after seeing some screens/videos), I'm not entirely convinced that you were in any way seriously considering a preorder of this game.

  15. Again, the bonuses schtick depends on the wording of the contract, if the contract states "Infinity Ward" gets the bonuses, then the employees who left don't get squat and it's their own damn fault.

Eh... if the bonuses were written in such a way that it only went to people that remained with the company rather than as a reward for their hard work, then it does little to endear me to Activision and makes me hope they lose out simply out of spite. Because actions like this are a huge problem with the industry as far as I'm concerned.

Especially considering the employees are likely going to be removed from the negotiations of such a thing. Kind of like a boss that hopes you quit so that he doesn't have to pay you severance.
