Two 500 GB hd's.. What I could do with two 500 GB hd's.. I WOULD RULE TEH UNIV3RSE!!1!
Seriously though, Komplett.se (my favourite hardware shop) still only sells ONE internal 500 GB model.. Imagine buying one a couple of years before now! Let alone two! That must be like buying a new car.
I run on one 120 GB (old one) and one 250 GB (not as old one), but they're always full with review games that I promise myself I'll play.. later.. when I find the time..

Just a quick update on Sundin's eye. It's very positive, and it's only gone two weeks. Still.. I had reckoned he'd be back by now. I've never had an eye injury myself though, so I know nothing about them. Just feels.. weird, to be able to play with a broken ankle and a broken wrist after just a few days and then be gone for 2+ weeks for a puck to the eye.

I'm bored, so I decided to decipher one of Epiphany's more sane looking recent posts.
This one:
The X360 has the best development tools developers have worked with. Many developers have backed this claim, including John Carmack, in a recent G4TV interview - in which they continually tried to get him to claim the PS3 was "better". He simply looked at them and said developing for a console with better tools is superior than developing for a console that has marginally superior FLOP performance. For fun, let's break down what Epiphany is writing in the above quote, shall we?
"The X360 has the best development tools developers have worked with. Many developers have backed this claim, including John Carmack..." - Epiphany
This, I assume, is taken from the QuakeCon where Carmack spoke about developing on the Xbox 360. So what's the real quote then?
"Carmack also praised Microsoft's development environment as easily the best of any of the consoles, thanks to the company's background as a software provider. Carmack said the 360, like the original Xbox, is easy to create games for thanks to a solid set of development tools. However, he went on, Sony is promoting the PS3 as offering more of an open environment for development, like the PC - and Carmack can't see Microsoft following suit." -Carmack at QuakeCon
Not quite the same, huh? Ok, the Xbox 360 is the easiest to work on of the current consoles, but where's the part about it having the best tools he's worked with? I'd say that's a pretty major detail, wouldn't you? Especially as Epiphany words it, as it sounds as developers in general think this. Epiphany also chose not to include what Carmack said about the PS3, which to me sounds like praise too, although in a different field.
(Source: http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=60510 , http://techreport.com/etc/2005q3/carmack-q...on/index.x?pg=1 )
Let's continue on:
"...in a recent G4TV interview - in which they continually tried to get him to claim the PS3 was "better"." - Epiphany
And the real world equivalent?
"On the subject of whether the 360 is superior to the PS3, Carmack described the hardware as "comparable", but conceded: "PS3 is probably marginally more powerful, in terms of raw flops and graphic operations."" - G4tv
G4tv asked John if he didn't believe the PS3 was more powerful than the Xbox 360, one time during the interview. Continually tried to make him claim the PS3 was more powerful.. Right.
Also (the important part):
"He simply looked at them and said developing for a console with better tools is superior than developing for a console that has marginally superior FLOP performance." - Epiphany
Notice how Epiphany in this sentence conveniently 'forgets' to add that John Carmack, programming guru of ID Software, thinks the PS3 is more powerful in FLOPS and graphic operations. Not only FLOPS as Epiphany claims (or, as Epiphany calls it, FLOP...). Guess Carmack doesn't see the Xbox 360 GPU (Xenos) as such a groundbreaking feature after all. Of course, this goes against everything Epiphany has been preaching for the last couple of months, which is why he left that vital piece of information about graphics operations out. Guess the PS3 isn't just all about FLOPS after all..

But hey, reasoning and common sense never works here, so I don't even know why I try.
Oh, right! You mean like:
A console isn't a computer, regardless of what people think, Hades_One.That must be it!

Dropping predictions from 2.5 million units sold in the first year to 1.5 million.
Also, he's calculated that Microsoft is losing $65-90 per Xbox 360 sold. That's bad, but not quite as bad as the PS3, which will apparently lose Sony $94 per unit sold.

Singleplayer is better than Doom 3.
That's not exactly saying much though, is it?
I have a feeling this game will disappoint me. I just feeeel it.

The Xbox 360 preplay article is now up: http://www.spel2.se/artiklar/5.html
I'll quickly translate some of it for the non-swedish speakers among us (hethens!).
"Xbox 360 - The first playing session
This is the first console-generation I don't need.
Nintendo 8-bit gave the people 2D. The Super Nintendo made the 2D beautiful. The Playstatin gave us 3D. The Playstation 2 made it beautiful. The Xbox 360 makes 3D more beautiful, but for whom?
The new generation comes too quickly, and it sort of doesn't matter how many new functions the Xbox 360 has when it has no impact on the gameplay. The new thing about the new generation is that it lacks news. Or if you listen to the PR-presentation there are of course hundreds of child safety news, user friendy news and how great the console is as a media station. But I want to play.
And you can play, it is probably the best games console so far, but it's not a new generation. It doesn't feel like when I took my first cautious steps in Super Mario 64, or like when I was immersed by the sheer speed of Wipeout. Playing games on the Xbox 360 is like playing games on the Xbox, where someone's been fiddling with a super wipe cloth on the HDTV. Because if you look past the graphics, Project Gotham Racing 3, Dead or Alive 4 and Perfect Dark Zero are exactly like their equivalents on the Xbox.
The Xbox 360 is the beginning of five years of stagnation."

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes
Time may change me,
But you can't trace time.
Though I'm sure no one's come here for a confirmation of this, I'll confirm anyways that I have resigned as a designer at Obsidian Entertainment.

Yes, it sure looks like it.
Why though?

Thanks for the info. I am glad Oblivion comes to the PC too. Let's see if Bethesda stays true to their promises and release it first on PC, or if they fall for the Microsoft pressure and delay the PC so the Xbox 360 version doesn't lose its shine.
I love that they msde the combat more twitch oriented in Oblivion! Morrowind's combat was so unbelievably bad that any change is good. Besides, maybe it's more like Blade of Darkness now? I've always wanted a RPG with the fighting system of that game incorporated..
It's still a little odd that they are having framerate problems. It's supposed to be in the stores (for the PC) in a month from today (November 18) and two months from now (December 21) it's supposed to be out for Xbox 360. That means it has to go gold in a week or so for the PC version.. Not much time to fix anything major.

Is Bill on crack ?
in Computer and Console
I get all my CD's/DVD's in envelopes, often without anything else, not even a manual. After a while there are stacks of naked discs everywhere on my desk. Yes, my discs get scratched a lot.
