I'm a former college athlete, and also a certified genius.I don't look like what you'd expect the stereotypical roleplayer to look like, nor do I act like it.
Oh?
However, I've played RPGs for about 20 years. I enjoy them. And earlier in life, I enjoyed more difficult games. But I have a job, a house, car payments, etc. I don't have as much time to dedicate to gaming as I used to. I don't mind more challenging aspects being available, but gaming isn't just something children with no responsibilities do these days. There are plenty of people with more demands on their time who enjoy playing games. Options. Options is where it's at. Let players customize their experience to the difficulty level they feel is appropriate. So what you're saying is: "In my very limited time away from my very busy life I want my entertainment to be unchallenging." In that case, have you considered purchasing an xbox?
And for the record, adding "No offense" to the beginning of a sentence does nothing to mitigate an offensive comment. No offense but I think your request for the watering-down of challenging gaming for your own casual interest to be a selfish and shallow one.
Your comment leads me to believe that you think you know what people should play what gamesSmart people should play challenging games. Exercising your brain should be rewarding.
and that certain people simply -shouldn't- play them.Stupid or perhaps busy people should maybe stray from challenging games.
But the fact is, companies make games because they want people to play them. Now wait just a second here...
They want a LOT of people to play them.Hmmmm...
jumpstarterSo telling people, or insinuating to people that they -should not- play this game because they don't share the same opinions as you is not only short-sighted, but likely unwelcome by the devs themselves. My guess is that the devs are going to attempt to make this game interesting for people who enjoy challenging games.

ITT people find new ways of whining about new things to whine about. #goodmorningamerica

the whole discussion is futile
Yes.
-
@TwinkieGorilla that's why one can't argue on the internet.
Actually it might have more to do with you not answering any of my questions.

Yeah, sorry, reading comprehension is still failing me here. I sense some kind of dig, but I must be too slow to grasp it.
I think he's saying its slightly obvious how proud you seem of your own posts.

Annah in PST? That was nice
Really, it was nice? What was nice about it?
and it wasn't nor obstructive nor forced.Oh. I see. You have a lot of relationships that go like this then?
You: Hi, you're a demon?
Demon: Yeah.
You: You like me?
Demon: Yeah.
You: Don't be mad, I want to kiss.
Demon: *kiss*
Yeah, seems reasonable and unforced. I mean, why wouldn't a demon have the hots for an irreparably disfigured dead guy mere minutes after meeting him? Right?
And I think it wasn't that expensive (time\resource wise)Oh, ok. Good to know you think this. Insider knowledge I presume?

Really? People in favour of romance subplots are-
-a little sad and more than a little annoying?
-
this topic will probably remain alive
WHY.
"I want kissykissy in muh gaem!"
"No, that's dumb."
The End.
Seriously. It's been discussed to death. To death.

How often is it necessary to visit the forums?
You should at least be visiting the forums on the last Sunday of every month. Should you choose not to, the fabric which makes up the existence you believe yourself to be a part of will begin unraveling and you will suffer unending madness.

You gotta be kidding me. This ****ing **** is still going on?!

but what is point with this thread and more importantly what does it have to do with the game and hoe does it bring luck?
Dude. Don't be rude.
You seem to have captured "overwhelming elation" perfectly, Prosper. Great job!
So are you the lead designer for Project Eternity, or what?
We should be so lucky.
for those who need better perspective view
Love it! Are you any closer to getting this dungeon finished?

The look of "Oh god what is this going to be about..." when the words "RPG Codex" are uttered.

Admit it, there's a lot of Codexians who actually love the fact that the games they want to play will never be made again.
Why would I admit that? It's not true.
-
Oh cool well then I'm TOTALLY for it. I mean, I'd hate to infringe upon a company's ****ing marketing research.
-
Aside from a little button which reminds you about the things in the game you just accomplished what good are achievements? No. Waste of time, money and resources.
-
The problem with this campaign as I see it is the lack of far reaching and visionary stretch goals.
Agreed. I've already addressed this concern here: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/60739-project-eternity-bagelhead-stretch-goal/
I think I'd personally pledge at least another $100 for this.

You start the game and play a Human fighter named Jim with brown hair and a mustache, then press "continue"? That sounds terrible.
I dunno, man. That actually sounds pretty awesome.

I suppose an SoZ-style converation system would be too much to hope for in this kind of game.
Oh but it t'would be grand!

Can I interrupt just to say how much I love that there is a thread titled as it is titled...in this ****ing forum?
-
1. Nothing.
2. Money and the ability to continue making this type of game.
Have you seen their Kickstarter page recently? Which reminds me of that "niche" comment you made earlier. If Obsidian were that invested in gaining the attention and adulation of the aforementioned stereotypes...going out on a limb here...they wouldn't be a niche company in the first place.
-
I said they very much want those people to get the game.
Ok, then. Piece by piece here.
* What has been suggested on the last few pages in order to appeal to the "Sims-playing girlfriend" or the "Game-hating brother"?
and
* Why is Obsidian, in your mind, concerned with these people?
-
I never said they should compromise anything at all.
You insinuited it by claming Obsidian would very much like the business of people who do not understand, enjoy or are unfamilar with this type of game.
