  1. Wait till you encounter the bug that corrupts all of your save files at once, I still have no idea why my 8 files were wiped. It seems like as long as the console port took it should have taken longer, or perhaps not happened at all because the game seems incredibly broken on consoles. I've also had crashes on ship stuff, crashes on loading maps (especially when you enter a small area that requires you to almost immediately walk back out) and during ship battles. Lost hours and hours of progress only to persist only to see my files corrupted arbitrarily regardless of the fact I kept 5 hard saves. Don't even want to start a new game because I'm afraid it'll happen again and have no idea why it happens in the first place, overall definitely regret purchasing, will save my patronage for once the game has been properly tested for the platform and goes on a steep sale for any future purchases, thought since the game was out for so long at least the game-breaking bugs would be resolved by the time it released for consoles, just wishful thinking though I suppose. We're all beta testers these days if we buy a game full price.
  2. I'd appreciate it. Even if you don't have a workable solution for consoles, I just want to understand what causes something like this so that I don't just start a new game and have the same thing happen all over again. Like how can all 8 of my save files suddenly be corrupt? It doesn't make sense to me, been really enjoying the game and will still enjoy it when I start over but I don't know how many times that I could lose all saves and still enjoy restarting so I want to wait until I can at least reasonably understand what is causing the bug before trying to start over. Fully uninstalling and reinstalling the game did nothing, so my current game is probably lost regardless barring a miracle fix update I won't hold my breath for, I just want to understand why this happened and if/how it can be avoided in the future.
  3. I'm having the same problem (just missed your post while posting my own). I can't load any areas though. With a character with 5 hard saves and the 3 auto ranging from the deck of my ship to fort deadlight to neketaka not a one will load, just keeps booting me back to the main menu with the message: "There was an error loading the next map. Returne to Main Menu to prevent save game corruption." Quite irritating really, considering how old the game is and that we paid full price for it and all, bugs I can tolerate, but you'd think the completely game-breaking ones that have been known for years (I've found plenty of topics with this problem and solutions (for pc anyway, involving access to files that console users aren't allowed) would be hammered out before the console release, especially considering how delayed it was to begin with. I don't even care if my character can be salvaged, I just want to have an idea as to what causes this and how to prevent it from happening again when I do start a new game. Guess I'll start by reinstalling and see if that helps me.
  4. I got the game on release, played for about 20 hours (just finished up sneaking into the fort to deal with the pirate who attacks you in the beginning) and when I turned on the game to play this morning I was met with the error message: "There was an error loading the next map. Returned to Main Menu to prevent save game corruption." and returned to the main menu. This happen on every single save file (3 autosaves and 5 hardsaves) for this character. I can start a new game and saves from that character will load still but none of my main file will load at all. I've seen this is an issue that has occurred on pc before, usually fixed by tweaking files that us console users simply don't have access to but couldn't find anything on the issue regarding the ps4. I'm assuming that my file is just lost, but I'd like to know why it happened and how to prevent it in the future if anyone knows, as well as bring it to the attention of the developers on the off chance that they aren't already aware it's a thing on ps4 and will actually fix it in some way. Kinda frustrating paying $60 for a game that's been out for years only to have to restart because of a game-breaking bug, especially when you don't know what caused it or if your new game's files will simply stop loading as well in due time, but that's what I get for thinking anyone is actually trustworthy enough to pre-order from I suppose.
