I just plain dont understand how hacking works.
Maybe im stupid as hell but I cant get past the hacking tutorial...

Bad.
Not just bad, it's insulting. This is literally culture rape.
But as slowtrain mentioned it will all be worth it to see the look on the kids faces when they pick up the book and expect it to be anything like the game.

Really? You've never run into MMO players who run with female characters (despite frequent sexual overtures from other players) because they'd rather stare at a female model's ass? People pay attention to these things. That's why the most popular mods are flesh mods.
I'm run into dozens of men who've claimed they prefer to watch a female toon over a male one. I'm not sure I trust their word, but I've encountered it many times.
Prefering to look at a polygonal representation of a female is certainly part of the reason why I tend to play female characters in games. But since Im usually also picking female characters even if im going to play in a first person perspective it is probably not the entire story.

No, it doesn't. You simply aren't playing the rogue right. Sorry, but it's true.
Then by all means please enlighten me.

"Some game areas really made me wish there was a Turn Undead spell. "
Yeah, but no doubt certain undeads would be immune or highly resistant anyways.
Rogues are evry sueful; but I think people wnat them to be as super powerful as warriors and mages but the class isn't deisgned that way in pretty much any game as the name suggests. A rogue should be treated as a SUPPORT class. Like that, they are pretty awesome.
Except the mage vastly outclasses rogues in support while dealing as much damage as the rogue.

Check out the 'Respec' mod Virumor mentioned, I'm playing with it at the moment and you can start Morrigan up as an excellent Arcane Warrior from day one.
What is it that makes arcane warriors good?

Yea, unfortunately the clan stuff is the cool stuff.

Im getting these wierd enemy level shifts.
Im lvl 9 on my new (VH) alchemist and the enemies im fighting are like level 7-8. Then I go to town, do some stuff and come back to find all the enemies are now level 4.
-
I was stupid and picked medium for my vanquisher and it is mindnumbingly boring (This is comming from someone who played a fair amount of diablo and hc diablo 2).
Im gonna try VH and see if thats any better.
The thing that bothered me the most on my vanq (lvl 18) is that im really only using 1 skill (explosive shot, and dumped everything else into passive damage boosting skills) and with the skill structure the way it is I have a really hard time seeing that change on a harder difficulty.

Just adding to the chorus that MotB is fantastic and one of the best rpgs since BG2 and PST

Not only does it save money, it's also somewhat more effective than complaining about it on the internet.
For maximum effect you do both.

The only benefit from not completely sharing exp between all members of a potential party (ie keeping all NPCs at equal levels) is that solo runs become unfeasible. Otherwise its just an enormous relief that reaching an NPC late (under leveled) wont stop you from being able to utilize him.

Am still playing Company of Heroes, mainly online and can't really see that changing until Dragon Age is released (which for me is 6th November).
Company of Heroes is the game to which all others aspire, and I am living a more wholesome, manly life by playing it. When will some of you lot join me online for some WW2 akshun?
Cheers
MC
Have you tried men of war?
Its pretty much CoH but more realistic.
For example the chance of penetrating armor on a shot is determined by caliber, range and angle of incidence.
For me this is probably the most overlooked game that is still fantastic of the year.

Y'see I agree with the point about saving per se, but I also like choice... choose to re-load and play the battle or choose to take a loot / XP loss. In almost every CRPG I've played there are times where I'd happily do both. I think a lot of players would be the same.
Cheers
MC
The problem is that this kind of design can lead a bad player into a death spiral that he is unable to escape. Constantly having to take the loot and xp loss because he lacks the required loot and xp.

Considering about every single RPG released in the past decade is stupidly easy, I'd appreciate if people stopped complaining about the game's difficulty. It's not like they don't have any options. Not every game has to appeal to the same people.
In any case, I seriously doubt Dragon Age is any harder than, say, BG2.
Difficulty levels are your friend.
There is no reason for a game to be overly hard on the easy setting as long as there is an option to have it be hard on the appropriate setting.
Having a game that is to hard regardless of setting is just a way to make less money.

They gave Oblivion the same score afaik.
Seriously, good news about the game receiving a good review obviously, but...
The only gaming magazine worth anything these days is EDGE. Most are barely alive as it is.
Wanna bet EDGE reviews it on a 360 and completely misses the point?

That's just another way from Bobby Kotick to say "Don't buy the PC version, go for the console version!". Something along those lines.
How is he saying that?
Granted the PC version just got less superior but that doesnt change the real reason for playing an FPS on a PC compared to on a console: the controls.

The Sun Mutant is a new enemy introduced in CoP. He cleverly disguises himself as the sun and proceeds to fire lasers at you.
Has this game been released or am I missing something here?

Game play is just one piece of the puzzle for me, it is functional, but the other stuff is what has made it a great title.
Thats what makes it such a wierd title for me, I like it alot but then I dont...

I love metal and I adore the world and everything that happens in it. But just like many of the reviews have said, the actual gameplay isnt really doing anything for me.

All of Jagged Alliance series. Freespace. All of Shiny games.
This (2 obviously)

Not sure if it has been mentioned yet but Men of War is one of the best and most interesting games I have played in the last few years.
In many ways it is sort reminiscent of an unscaled Company of Heroes. There are loads more units than in CoH and every single unit has an inventory, can carry multiple guns, grenades, mines and limited ammunition. Whenever a unit dies it is possible to loot it for its gear.
The way armor is implemented is fantastic with shells having different penetration depending on everything from angle of impact to if the specific area it hit has been damaged by previous hits.
Infantry greatly benefit not only from cover but also from concealment and you will be able to mess up any tank that comes rolling your way if you are properly hidden. Meet it on an open battlefield and the terms are quite different.

I haven't played in a long, long time but I would be up for a game sometime if anyone is interested.
Not much of a comp-stomp fan though.

So correct me if Im wrong.
Publisher forces the game out before its ready: Bad publisher, you should have given them more time!
Publisher delays the game to get it polished for relase: Bad publisher, we want the game now!
Granted it could be the Aliens treatment but considering how far along AP is that seems pretty unlikely to me.

Yea I understand how it is supposed to work now but I cant for the life of me gain control over the block of characters controlled by the mouse. Even if I know right from the start where to place it I dont think I would be able to navigate there in time. The mouse controls for this minigame are just horrendous.
I think im going to just not play until this is fixed.
