  1. I was referring to your, "Disliked Bethesda games before it was cool" comment, which negates your argument against them. And I'll have to disagree with the "do one well" because the reality is that it's not just a preference for those who have something against first-person perspective. As I mentioned above, I had to disable most of the post-processing effects for it to even playable and even then, I can only play it for an hour or so at a time, due to the strain it causes. But hopefully, as you alluded to, we might see it in a sequel, especially given the success of TOW.
  2. The issues with third-person in Skyrim, etc, aren't implementation issues, though, they're because it's third-person. Any time the camera has to adjust for collision, etc, there will be oddities, especially given how different the player's collisions can be between the two perspectives (eg, you can't use a simple polygon for third-person without issues). Regardless, those of us that prefer third-person will generally always opt for buggy third-person over first-person. As far as NPC speed goes, not sure what you're on about there. Camera position has no direct effect on that. Being able to swap between first- and third-person by scrolling in/out based on the confines of your environment was pretty nice. Even the worst of any third-person implementation is better than being locked in first-person. But then you've already demonstrated your bias, so you're comment is irrelevant. ... In any case, they've already stated it's not going to happen so that's that.
  3. And, you know, Skyrim. If Bethesda got one thing right, it was the first/third person setup. The fact that in 2019 games are still going first-person only is frankly pathetic. Though I can understand budget constraints. As far as motion sickness, etc, tweaking the FoV and disabling some of the garbage post-processing effects (chromatic aberration = developer fail) can make a notable difference.
  4. I agree with most of the OP, especially the first-person height. Apparently, we're viewing the game through a body cam. I would also add: The graphics options need to be expanded. One should not need to edit an ini file to disable motion blur or chromatic aberration (the latter not being disabled by default is a flaw, not a feature). First-person should be optional. There's no logic to a character creator if you don't get to see your character aside from being idle for a minute or so.
  5. The confusion can be easily addressed by limiting the number of quests that be tracked simultaneously and giving the markers for each a different color or number. Multi-quest tracking is something that should be a no-brainer in modern games, like 1st-person being optional.
