For me, I would do this quest only when making a darkside character. And when doing darkside, there is no reason to dance around and try to be elusive with sabotage. Just walk up to them, tell them they are done and slice 'em. -
Well, if this hasn't been brought to light yet, I would like to add to the KOTOR3 rumors. This was found on N4G, posted by 'The Round Peg'. He was the one who had images in his photobucket that was believed to be concept art for the 3rd. He is speaking about the differences between PS3 and xbox 360. So, for people who love Western RPGs, 360 is a much better buy, and it's also "future proof" for people who want to play KOTOR 3 or Jade Empire 2, which may or may not be on PS3. Don't tell me they will be 100% sure to come to PS3, because we know for sure that KOTOR, KOTOR 2 and Jade Empire are not on any PlayStation. (Posted almost a year ago) Linky - http://www.n4g.com/up/14312/commentsPage-53.aspx Ahh, this just makes my pants wet thinking about it. But I REALLY hope its not a MMO. The game was meant to be played as a movie; to be thralled by the amazing story line. Nothing will make it suffer more than a nine year old schmuck with all the time in the world just making the game miserable for others.

yeah... nothing like a slap in the face at the END of the game... what vid card you running? Nvidia 8x00 series? I just bought a GT8800 a few months back and it has caused more trip ups in this game than I can justify trying to fix. but if its just one section you need to get by, i suggest that you grab another (maybe lower grade) PC and run the save from there just to get past that point. then, copy the savegame and take it back to the PC you desire to play it on. This has a good chance of fixing the problem (if dealing with a computer that kotor2 is happy with). I have played this game on both xbox and PC with no problems what-so-ever. I was running a gt5500 (laggy) that was able to make it from start to finish of the game. now. I have issues entering areas @ iziz and have lost the ambition to fix obsidian's faults (stability of kotor 1 still intact). i know alot of people don't see it as obsidian's fault, but I do... when they can easily push out an update patch to fix the problems. but it seems they have given up completely in this area. If anyone from obsidian checks this forum any more, please look into this re-occurring issue. It will gain you more 'influence' than you could understand...

Game keeps crashing on onderon, any tips?
drivethrubuddha replied to misternugg's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I attempted that, in incremental steps backward, and it did work. But, i had to downgrade so far into the past that i started getting issues with my other games again. It wouldnt be a problem if swapping drivers was as easy as a batch file or something (which is probably possible) but for now, I am kinda having a hissy fit with the backward compatibility of KOTOR2. Kotor1 had no problems, even on my new system. well, i think im just complaining because I have come to the realization that PC gaming is dead. Too much money, too many problems... Sadly, us PC savys are getting fed up our selfs. -

I have experience with this game on multiple systems. I never had this problem before, until now. The only thing I have changed is ive upgraded vid cards to a GT8800. With all it's beautiful defects, the driver series is probably causing the problems. Well, i really wanted to continue this game so i installed it on a laptop and brought my save game over, just to get to the merchant quarter, and it worked! my laptop had a ATI express 1100, and it struggled to make it through the gate, but it made it work. put it back on my beast machine with the gt8800 and continued. then, i needed to go into the iziz cantina. Same problem with the crash on loading screen. Looks like i'ma have to transfer my save to my laptop EVERY time i need to enter or exit that cantina or merc quarter. Great. Well, if anyone from Obsidian still checks these forums, I want to let you know that you have a pretty dissatisfied customer. Game incompletion aside, I just have too many issues running this damn thing. And to me, I drop 50 bucks on a game when it comes out, i want to be able to play it for at LEAST five years before backward compatibility becomes out of reach. With the last update patch now years old, I think it's time to consider devoting some man power to fixing the problems in a potentially amazing game. I'ma have to point out the fact that KOTOR1 has had NO glitches with me so far. I've played that game on xbox, 5500, gt7900 and the gt8800 without an issue. And it put in so much respect for Bioware in my eyes, that I bought Mass Effect without a second thought. This is a business and we are customers. Don't leave a customer, who paid for your product multiple times on multiple platforms, high and dry when he can't make it to the end due to programing issues. Anywhere else and the customer would be asking for a refund! -

Just ran into the same problem last night. I have tried miscellaneous suggestions found on the internet like adding swkotor2.exe to the Nvidia 3d utilization thingy... someone else said to resume your saved game from a linux system... i dont have that option myself. Anyone got ideas? 8800gts -
man i love this game. it's been a while since i ran through koriban. in either 1 or 2. i remember when #1 came out; doing koriban was ORGASMIC... those were the days...

Vid Card Upgrade - KOTOR2 Crashes!
drivethrubuddha replied to drivethrubuddha's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well, i couldnt access the AA controls from the config menu (before entering the game) but i turned everything down and still didn't get any results. I downgraded the forceware a step and... BAM! Works like a charm! (Ill post the forceware version i downgraded to soon so if anyone else is running into the prob...) I DO notice the low FPS problem i have been reading about with the 8800 gts users... It lags with the smoke shaders. Thanks a lot for the help guys, I was ripping my hair out on this one... Seeing as i am a huge fan of the Kotor series, and people here seem to know what they are talking about, I should check this place out more often! -
Vid Card Upgrade - KOTOR2 Crashes!

so far, the only resolution I have tried is the native 800x600, just to see if i can get it going. My standard res is 1680x1050. Drives me crazy; I can run Crysis at 1680x1050 with max settings just fine, but i cant get KOTOR2 to work!? i am really bummed out about it too. I love the kotor series. Was lookin forward to some good ol' exile mayhem last night. So far, I have not seen anyone with the same problem; where they are unable to get to the main menu screen. The main screen is the first screen where the game is actually rendering and not playing video. Is there directx or opengl issues with the 8800 that might be causing the dump when rendering? -
Vid Card Upgrade - KOTOR2 Crashes!

You are getting more than I though. I can't even get to the opening menu I'm at work right now, but I have an idea. think that setting the affinity to only one of the two cores would work? (Probably not because it worked on the two cores before with the older vid card) ill try and post my results -
Hey guys I have been able to play both kotor games on my pc before. i had... core 2 duo 2.4gig @ 1066 fsb 3 gigs RAM 7900gt XP Sp2 lots of steam to run this game recently, i upgraded vid cards to a 8800gts. When i went to launch kotor2, i can see the opening videos fine, but then, instead of giving me the opening menu, it plays the music for a short second before crashing to the desktop. Every time. i have tried alot. changing compatibility mode in XP, updated vid card drivers, updated kotor2, messed with out of game settings menu, even crashed and reinstalled XP fresh. I still cant get to the opening menu. I am not a complete PC idiot, but I have looked everywhere and can not find a similar problem or solution on the net. Any tips?
