Hello all! I recently found this helm and am stuck deciding how to enchant it. My gear gets swapped around a lot between party members as this is my first play through. Seeing as I don't really know who will be wearing this helm, I'm unsure how to enchant it. There is a good chance it will be worn on one of my two squishy ranged dps, basically purely for the +3 might. I don't think I've seen another + might helm so far. a.) am i super dumb for thinking of putting Garodh's Chorus on a super squishy ranged dps (when it kind of seems like its meant for a bruiser front liner) b.) if i do put it on someone not planning to get hit a lot, which enchant is less wasted? Thanks in advance!

I'm happy with my current party of paladin, chanter, cleric, wizard, cipher +1. So the option is basically a monk OR a barb. really whichever would be better at flogging into the backline and stunning/interrupting/knocking down an ogre druid or 6 is what i want. If that is obviously a job for a monk, and not so much for a barbarian. i don't "have" to wear sanguine plate at all. I can just stash it?

Would a monk, similar to this one make a good candidate for shod-in-faith and/or sanguine plate? I just got to white march and I'm going to be dropping Eder because he is simply not needed as a tank anymore. Im using your Counselour Ploi paladin + a dragon thrashed chanter and the two of them are more than enough tanking for me even on potd. About the only "hole" in my team is when the enemy has multiple druids (insect swarm spam) or Adragons (dominate spam) on their backline. I had to redo the fight at the end of od nua floor 7 ( 3 Adragons) and the ogres outside the cave for the bounty for the ogre (4 billion ogre druids) multiple times. I have a cipher that i love (ranged), but her cc is frankly too short range for the times I really need this immediate/fast/constant cc. I'm pretty sold on trying out a monk like this, but i also have sanguine plate and shod in faith that just dont get used well on my team. My paladin and chanter barely ever get crit to proc them. I suppose i could just not use sanguine and keep shod in faith on my chanter, but just wondering your thoughts on how often a monk like this will be getting crit? Thanks in advance for your advice!

Hello all. I am using a chanter and hate that my chant damage doesn't get added to my character sheet for comparison to my teammates. I recently discovered that "UPMod" fixes this issue. So i went ahead and installed it ( which seemed to require i install IE Mod first). Now, near as I can tell, I cant launch the game form steam anymore, I have to launch it from their own launcher. The only thing I miss is being able to hit "shift + tab" in game to bring up the steam panel ( talk to steam friends/view achievements). Is there a way to allow me to have the UpMod working, but also keep the "steam functions" of the game active? Thanks in advance for your help! EDIT: I found instructions related to exactly my issue on the IEMod page at nexusmods. I'll copy paste the last (optional) step to install to resolve my above issue in case others are having the same issue, or this post can just be deleted as It is resolved on my end, whichever the mods think is better for the community. FIX BELOW: (Optional step, if you want to launch through Steam for the overlay and achievements) Once the game has been launched using the patchwork launcher at least once, you will find a file called Assembly-CSharp.dll.pw.modified in your Managed Folder, which should at this path Steam > steamapps > common > Pillars of Eternity > PillarsOfEternity_Data > Managed Make a backup of the vanilla Assembly-CSharp.dll by renaming it or copying it somewhere safe. Then rename Assembly-CSharp.dll.pw.modified to Assembly-CSharp.dll You can now launch the game as you would have in the past.

Basically the title. If I am fighting a mob and "turn around" to cast a spell, but don't actually move, am i being penalized? Many games you cannot block from behind, or the enemy does extra damage from other mechanics. Near as I can tell these don't exist in this game, so I am free to turn away from my enemy and cast a spell in a different direction? Thanks in advance for your answer. I tried to search, but couldn't find this.

Thank you very much for the clarification Boeroer. I had seen that Barbarians had "more health" but i never imagined it was by such a gigantic margin! That makes me way more comfortable with the idea. I am almost assuredly going to use this build once I find my first barbarian companion. I just got to defiance bay and opened up all three rep shops. I am currently doing my first playthrough of POE using your Counselor Ploi as a template for my main character on POTD. He is great and I love him. My entire team is fairly sturdy and I don't have to rest very often. My main cause for a rest currently is if a pull goes south and my cleric has to spam all his magic (which is insane how powerful that can be) but then hes left as an auto attack bot until I rest. I'm very happy with my entire team except for Eder. There's nothing "wrong" with him at all, and he "tanks great". hes just kind of boring for my taste.....human/fighter..... we have those irl, lol. His knockdowns are very valuable but I'm eager to replace him.

Hello all! I just got into this game and am having a blast so far! I realize this is a semi necro but I wanted info on this exact build. This build sounds super fun but I’m wondering how does a build like this avoid having to rest constantly from losing health. I’m not a huge fan of how health/endurance works in this game already, but it seems exchanging deflection for healing would make this issue worse. I’m assuming I’m missing something. Thanks in advance for your help!
