  1. I'm one of those weird people that doesn't mind a character that mostly auto-attacks. I'm pretty heavy on the AI instructions side of things so it's like I'm a spectator anyway, heh. I've run that tempest combo as well but I felt like it was starting to lag behind from around lvl 14 onward (maybe a little earlier) - although it probably didn't help that I stubbornly stuck to the melee oriented focus I wanted instead of at least opening with some spells first before shifting.
  2. Sorcerer (Fury/Evoker) is actually my favourite caster setup to play at the moment. Admittedly a ways behind a single class caster for reasons already stated, but still more than sufficient for standard POTD in my experiences. I wish his Druid subclass, and to a lesser extent the chanter one, was available to the player without mods. That FoE Chill Fog is something else.
  3. Since hostile summons can also be hostile to the enemy, I guess there's some value in initiating to proc the effect, killing the target and then disengaging via invisibility/other and re-engage once they're fighting? That's far too much hassle for me personally. I don't always get a summon kill (not even the useless pets) but the odd Lagufaeth Mage, Ogre Pirate or Gul definitely helps.
  4. I instilled Eder with some essence, sent him to fight and die. The resulting spawn seemed to be a neutral enemy (red ring, but the enemies and the spawned lesser black ooze were happily fighting each other). Companions with instilled essence are destroyed on death, so I can't recommend doing it to one you're particularly attached to or anything (especially with Trial of Iron enabled.. sorry Eder )
