  1. But it looks like it is(?) - otherwise it wouldn't be listed under "Weapon Proficiencies" in the character sheet.
  2. But both of these suggested solutions disregard the fact that a Devoted is only able to chose ONE proficiency by definition. You cannot put "Devoted" and _proficiencies_ in the same sentence. With the Unarmed proficiency absent from the proficiency selection during character creation it's currently NOT POSSIBLE to play a Devoted who's strictly and single-mindedly focused on "Unarmed". This kind of Devoted will always end up with the (currently automatically assigned) Unarmed proficiency plus a second proficiency that must be chosen from the list as shown above but an Unarmed-focused Devoted obviously does not make use of.
  3. I'm aware of that but think it's imperative that "Unarmed" should (also) be actively selectable from the list of proficiencies, mainly for the 2 reasons given in the opening post.
  4. Thought I give this a shot since some of these requests seem to get granted/implemented: So... basically what it says on the tin. Not including "Unarmed" in the proficiency selection creates the following issues/contradictions: - a Devoted set up as solely focused on "Unarmed" actually ends up NOT being solely (and primarly) focused on "Unarmed" but on the proficiency to be chosen from the proficiency list during character creation which at the moment DOES NOT include "Unarmed" as a selectable proficiency. Quite the glaring oversight if you ask me. - the "classic" Monk (strictly focused on "Unarmed") is forced to chose proficiencies (since the proficiency selection CANNOT be skipped) during character creation he DOES NOT make use of. Which doesn't feel quite right obviously. This is not ideal at all and I really hope this gets fixed either in the gold build still or via the obilgatory (day one) patch. Official word on this and why exactly it's currently implemented in this stilted "quick and dirty" way would also be greatly appreciated. "UI problems" doesn't really sound like something that couldn't be taken care of in a timely manner. Adding "Unarmed" to the proficiency list to chose from can't possibly be that hard, can it?
  5. Which would be correct since you can't seem to skip the proficiency selection screen unless you pick something? Sure, I could do that, but this would leave me with proficiencies an Unarmed Monk build gets absolutely nothing out of. Which is irritating, to say the least. Isn't that quite the contradiction to the concept of the Devoted who "are dedicated to the pursuit of a single weapon to the exclusion of all others."? This single weapon being "fist" or "hand", in case of a -purely- Unarmed-specialized Devoted (even refraining from using backup weapons)? Having to pick another proficiency in addition to the Unarmed one completely goes against this bit of official(!) definition of the subclass. Maybe it's just me then who's bothered by the fact that (also from a roleplay-perspective) you won't be able to make neither a -true- Unarmed-focused Monk nor a -true- Unarmed-specialized Devoted. You'll always -have- to pick additional proficiencies you'll never make use of. Was it ever mentioned why the Unarmed proficiency isn't available from the list of proficiencies during character creation? Would solve one half of the issue if this were the case. I get why selecting proficiencies during character creation and leveling up is mandatory (so that most people do not accidently skip it I guess?) but if this too weren't the case and you actually could skip that part it would solve the other half of the issue as well. IF the Unarmed proficiency would also be added to the list to chose from, of course.
  6. Are Unarmed-focused Monk builds still forced to chose (2) weapon proficiencies during character creation and leveling up? What about the Unarmed Devoted? Is the Unarmed proficiency still absent from the proficiency list during character creation? Thanks.
