I'm not an expert, but I've been playing with a Ranger PC (and with Sagani) with the Rangers in the back row and the Animal Companions in the front row, and I have to say that as I increase characters' Stealth skill, a) it's extremely obvious when a front row character has lower Stealth than the other characters around them, and b) both of my Rangers have great Stealth and the Animal Companions are never the weakest link in terms of alerting enemies. So I am like 98% positive that Rangers' Stealth also applies to the Animal Companion.

I went to Clîaban Rilag to continue Eder's quest, and I sneaked all the way around all the accessible areas (without attacking the Glanfathans or attempting to jump across the bridge, which I'm guessing just lead inside the ruins) and I didn't find anything. I looked it up in the wiki and it says there's supposed to be something at the camp, but the only thing I found at the camp was some camping supplies. Where am I supposed to go? Do I have to enter the ruins to continue the quest? Sorry if this is the wrong forum.

Ok, maybe I'm just being overcautious, then. What level would you recommend for Cragholt Bluffs and Longwatch Falls? Also, which are the best stronghold hirelings, if they come with me to Yenwood Field? I don't know how to gauge how good they are except to see which ones die during stronghold attacks. I actually recruited Korgrak for my stronghold earlier, I'm guessing he's a good one to have?

I headed up to Stalwart when I was level 8, fought off the ogres, picked up Zahua and Maneha, and talked to all the villagers to get quests started. I noticed that there was a bounty-giver there, so I checked the wiki to see what levels the bounties were, and they were level 14 (!) and a bunch of the NPCs seem to be indicating that there are some pretty dangerous areas up there. So I took this as an indication that I should go away and come back when I was more experienced. Some other quests that feel that way are the Siege of Cragholt quest, the Battle of Yenwood Field, and the Searing Falls quest (I went to Searing Falls and had more trouble than usual killing the drakes around there, and I figure there's probably something worse in the cave). What level should I be to do these quests/areas? Also, Geyda has arrived at my stronghold... for the second time. I have searched everywhere in my keep and the grounds, but I can't find her in order to interact with her, but the stronghold screen says she is still waiting for me. Is this a glitch? I don't have any prisoners right now, could that be the problem? The last time she came I sent her to Heritage Hill with 2000 copper and it eventually told me she was successful.

I find fast mode too fast and slow mode too slow. Or rather, slow mode is fine when the characters aren't stealthed, but I try to stealth them as often as possible. Since fast mode is supposed to be double speed and slow mode is supposed to be half speed, shouldn't there be a "normal mode" in between them? I feel like I've hit this normal mode once or twice and the characters move at the speed I want them to move, but then I accidentally hit one of the arrows instead of something else and I can't get back to this normal mode. What do I have to do to get back to it?

I so far have been given the option to do two different quests from the Dozens and the Crucible Knights that will apparently piss off the other party, and I've avoided taking either for the time being. I looked them up in the wiki while avoiding the walkthroughs and I think I understand: the Dozens, the Crucible Knights, and the Doemenels will all give me quests, and they each have a quest that locks me out of the other two factions' quests. So, ideally, I should do all the other quests first and then pick one of the lock-out quests. Only, in another place, the wiki also says that if I "become to involved with the Crucible Knights" Wenan will not talk to me anymore. I have a quest from the Crucible Knights right now involved Heritage Hill that I kind of wanted to do - if I do that quest, will I still have access to the Dozens' lock-out quest? I have already done the quest about Osric's breastplate and the one about the enchanted armor. Will I be able to get a good reputation with Defiance Bay (for Eder's quest) without doing any more Crucible Knight quests? I did glance at the rewards for the three lock-out quests, and I like the Dozens' rewards the best and the Crucible Knights' rewards the least.

15 Gb of assets. Is this normal?
faiuwle replied to faiuwle's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
That's crazy. I didn't realize games were so large now. All of those would actually be fine on my Windows partition, but I set this computer up when there were virtually no big popular games being made for linux. -

There is a 1.5 hour movie in there? Or is that a joke? I guess I haven't installed a ton of games recently, but I don't think I have ever seen one that exceeded 8 Gb. Like, for example, I recently installed Stellaris, which I believe is a more recent game, and it was about 7 Gb. Why does this game need so much space, compared to that? I have cleared out some space, and will probably move my partitions around a bit to add more space to this partition - I didn't originally imagine I would be installing any games on here when I set it up. -
I installed the game on my linux partition, which has only 50 Gb of space on, which is usually plenty. But I recently got a disc space warning, so I checked it out and the main use of space is Pillars of Eternity taking up 15 Gb, mainly in the PillarsOfEternity_Data directory, which consists mostly of a directory called assetbundles. I'm pretty sure I would have noticed if this had happened when I installed the game originally, since I've had it for a while. I just reached Defiance Bay in game, could that have something to do with it? How can I reduce the size of this installation, because frankly 15 Gb is ridiculous.
