Hi everyone, I encountered a very strange thing. For example I have Wayfarers hide armor, which gives me 14 pierce, 14 freeze and 6 corrode DR. When I enchant it with slash proofing, which is suppose to give me 3 slash DR, I gain 14 slash DR instead. To make this even more crazy, when I put the Hiros Mantle on, it gives me additional 14 crush DR (instead of 3) according to its description. Similar thing with my Argwes Adra armor. It gives 20 slash, 20 pierce and 8 shock. When I enchant it with crush proof it gives me 19 crush DR instead of 3. Then I put on Cloak of Comfort, which is suppose to give me 3 slash, 3 pierce and 3 crush DR, however it only raises slash and pierce DR (by 3 points, like in the description). If I dont enchant the Argwes Adra with crush proof I have 0 DR against crush overall, but when I put on the Cloak of Comfort it instantly raises the crash DR to 19 (instead of 3 like in the description). Similar with other armors. It seems to be multiplicative, but it doesnt make sense to me, I cant figure out how is it calculated, but do I understand it correctly that its just always better to go for the proofing which is absent in the armor, as for example when I enchant Argwes Adra with crush, I gain 19 crush DR (from 0-19) and when I enchant it with slash, it gives me 4 (for some unknown reason), so thats only from 20-24. The final calculated bonuses from cloaks make no sense either to me. Can anyone shed some light into this please? Thanks in advance

I was trying to wrap my head around it, like why do I have to chose different stat bonus on each item?...and I just realized that, after having 3/4 game completed that the attributes from different items do not stack. ****, I am stupid xD Ive completed many RPGs in the last 15 years and never seen one with the same mechanic where no bonuses stack, thats why it never even came to my mind lol

Thanks a lot for the answer. I am also trying to figure out which armor attribute enchant should I give to my party members. What would you say are most important attributes for: 1) Support/tank paladin (basically your Councilor Ploi build) 2) Saber dual wield barbarian 3) Fighter with 2H sword (Rumbaldt/BoTEP) 4) Priest (classic ranged caster, lots of buffs and damage) 5) Wizard (classic ranged build, lots of cc and dps) 6) Cipher (classic gunmage build)

Well the Gwisk Glas is superb, it has might enchant (I assume I wont be able to add another attribute enchant to it since it has that already?), and second chance, which is rly nice. I am using the Rainment of Waels Eyes on my cipher atm, it surely is nice armor . So if we have 3 armors, Angio, ROWE and Gwis Glas and 3 glass cannon backliners (wizard, priest and cipher), what would be ideal armor for each? I assume Angio on priest (so he can spam the buffs in hard fights easy with DAOM), ROWE for Wizard and GG for cipher? Also what attribute enchants would you use on the armor? Priest=int, wizard=per?, cipher=per/mig?, dps barb=per/mig?, dps fighter = mig, support/tank paladin = ?

I was actually thinking about that armor. Does the -10 recovery actually stack with durgan enchant? I assume not though. I dont understand from the wiki description what Wicked Briars actually does, can you elaborate? I used the MaxQuest speed calculator and with both durganized sabers and armor, gloves of swift action, bloodlust and frenzy, I can be at 0 recovery even with vulnerable attack, but I guess its still beneficial to rather use lighter armor since we cant keep the frenzy and bloodlust up all the time. Another option would be to duplicate the Sanguine plate, that way I would have 3 frenzy per encounter (I assume it stacks?)

Well I dont necessarily have to decide between those two. You think there is some better option? Originally I wanted to pick the Wayfarers hide and then use the unique helmet with -50 to knock down/prone to compensate for it, but then I realized that I cant wear a helmet since my barb is fire godlike:) I am just trying to decide if the -knock down and prone duration + defense when knocked down or prone is better than higher DR + stun/hobble/paralyze protection + the special ability (not even sure how useful is that) Also what armor do you think is the best generally for casters? (normal back line glass cannon casters, specifically priest, wizard and cipher). I was thinking having the Angios Gambeson on priest (since DAOM on more difficult fights is very useful cos he can spam the buffs) and then on cipher I would use Gwisk Glass once I get access to it, but not sure what to use on my wizard...maybe even use the helwax mold on the Gwisk Glass, since it rly rly good, but I was rather thinking about using it on Shod-In-Faith. Meh, too many choices:)

The biggest problem with this kind of paladin (or any kind of pure tank) is that the enemies will just ignore him altogether, and since he deals no damage, other than providing some aura and healing he is completely useless. Idk, I just want to deal at least some damage, otherwise I feel like its wasted char. And ye, the game NPCs have just horrible stats. I wanted to play with them though cos of the story and I found perfect solution to this problem:) https://www.reddit.com/r/projecteternity/comments/490vwk/good_news_everyone_theres_a_way_to_permanently/

Also wanted to ask, when using The Hours of Rumbaldt, are there any good specific enchantments? I assume it would be better to use the Accurate 3 version rather than exceptional, but what about lash and slaying enchantments? Just go Kith slaying and corrosive, or something else? I guess its also beneficial not to use only 1 type of lash on all party members and rather have a mixture of 2-3 and also while dual wielding not use the same one on each weapon?

Do you think PoTD is doable without scrolls, potions and food without pulling all my hair out? Not solo, talking about 6 man min-maxed party, of course. I just dont like using the consumables, as for most of the encounters you dont know if its going to be just random easy one or actually a very though one. I mean getting into every encounter without this knowledge, without consumables, just to find out after few minutes that ure fighting a lost battle so u gotta load all the time so u can use the consumables before that fight doesnt sound like fun to me xD

Perfect, thanks again guys! little Off topic: I think I will try to enable the PoTD and see if its doable. Its my first playthrough, so not sure if I should play PoTD, but since I am min-maxing I dont want to steam roll through everything without even microing (which is kinda happening right now). I kinda dont like using scrolls/food though, so if its necessary for PoTD, I should prolly play on hard. I am lvl 9, I wanted to start WM1 with scaling enabled, should I wait on higher lvl, enter it without scaling or just go for it? I am 1 main quest off finishing ACT II atm.

You guys are awesome! Thx so much for the detailed answers! So I will respec the paladin and will use small shield+some one handed weapon (the ones that Boeroer and Max mentioned (Shame or Glory / Strike Hard / The Vile Loner's Lance / Drawn in Spring). Or maybe Unlaboured Blade or Vent Pick? How much res and con can I dump with the paladin to still be able to survive? What would be a good stat distribution? Obviously high might, high int, what about the rest? I am playing on 3.0 patch so the Unblaboured blade wasnt nerfed, right? I will respec the fighter to use 2hander. Should I keep high int with the fighter, or just dump it completely? I mean the high int is useful for prolonged knockdowns, but other than that, is there actually anything else? Wouldnt it be better to just dump the int completely so I can max dex and per, or what stat distribution would be ideal? Obviously dump res, as I am gonna use Sanguine plate with him. Also, Tidefall vs. Hours of Rumbaldt vs. Blade of the Endless paths? Barbarian is pretty clear now, seems to be specced optimally, will respec and lower the dex once I get the HoF. thanks again

Thanks everyone for the answers: Just for the clarification, I am playing on 3.0 patch, so the latest nerfs to Unlaboured blade doesnt apply to me. Also, the main reason I gave the Sanguine plate to paladin is that fighters have naturally much higher deflection and I thought its going to be difficult to get the frenzy to activate. Maybe solution to this would be, as Livegood1118 said, give it to fighter but massively lower his RES attribute and put it to dex/per? Belfaldurnik: Ill try to describe it more precisely: I am playing on Hard, but past the lvl 7-8 the fights are getting ridiculously easy. I killed the dragon in Searing Falls on lvl 8 while he did basically 0 damage to any of my party members, At this point I am considering changing the difficulty through console to PoTD. Your point about the res is absolutely valid, Ill definitely change that. I am using Blaid Gholan, dual saber and shod in faith, if he takes any damage he heals it super fast, in case of emergency my pala heals him LoH/or just use savage defiance/second wind. He doesnt go down at all at this point, even with such low deflection. He deals by far the most damage from my party and has the most kills (2nd best damage dealer has 1/2 damage dealt compare to him). The Paladin deals nice damage with FoD, but other than that nothing special, he just attacks too slow. If I made him a 1handed+shield, what attribute distribution would you suggest? Should I use Outlanders frenzy with him/or the respecced 2h fighter? And the Fighter deals even less damage despite picking pretty much only offensive talents, although I am mainly using him to just knock foes down (with his high INT, it last quite long). But I would like him to deal more damage, so as ppl suggested, I guess it would be better to respec him to 2-handers, increase dex and per and lower RES to minimum, so the Sanguine plate that I give him will actually proc?

How exactly does this work? Basically, lets say I enter a dungeon and there is chest that can spawn random loot. Lets say I want to get the gloves of swift action from Durgans battery. I go there on day 15 and get some item, which I dont want. So I load it back before opening the chest, go to town and wait for day 17 for example, which is suppose to spawn them, then it should be there? Doesnt matter that I entered the location before? thanks in advance

Hi everyone, after reading countless of topics on this forum/reddit/steam I am still unsure what would be the best itemization for my frontline. I know its not necessary to have everything "optimal" to beat the game, however I love min-maxing so I would like to know from the experience members what they think is optimal. I am using pretty much a balanced party: lvl 9 party, just about to do WM1. My main is a tanky DPS paladin with 2-hander (currently using Tidefall and Sanguine plate), then I have 1handed weapon+shield tank (using Argwes Adra + Oidhrecht, somehow trying to spec him for damage) and pure DPS barbarian (dual saber, shod-in-faith, Blaidh Golan). For my backline I have DPS/CC wizard, buffer/debuffer/dps priest and dps blunderbuss cipher). My main concern is not the backline, but the frontline. I would like to keep 1 char as dual wielder (barbarian as it is should be best for it I assume?), then 1 char should be using 2-hander and 1handed weapon and shield. Some questions: 1) I am unsure if I should use the 2-hander with paladin and 1handed weapon+Shield with fighter or if it would be better the other way around. What would be the best talents/abilities and attributes for such builds? (currently I have those attributes: 2H paladin 18/10/12/10/15/10, 1handed weapon+shield fighter 18/10/10/9/17/12 and dual wield barbarian has 16/14/9/15/16/5). 2) Is it possible to do a solid damage with 1handed weapon+shield? If so, how? What would be the ideal setup? 3) Who would be the best to put the Sanguine plate on from my frontliners? 4) What would be the best weapons to dual wield for my barbarian? Should I stick with resolution+purgatory/bittercut, or are there some better combinations? 5) Who should use the Unlaboured blade? Would it be best to dual wield it with some other weapon with my barbarian or just use it with the shield char? Much appreciated
