  1. The best reflector is a monk. He has an ability called Blade Turning that reflects melee attacks back at attackers and he also has an ability called Soul Mirror which relfects ranged attacks. For the first one you need no defenses, it turns 100% attacks. The later needs high deflection. You could then either multiclass with a Wizard for high defense self buffs and Arcane Reflection or with a Rogue for Riposte or with a Paladin for higher passive defenses

I think a Monk/Trickster Rogue might be optimal; how exactly does the gaining "access to select Illusion wizard spells at power levels 3, 5, 7, and 9" work? Do I get to pick the spells or are they selected for me?

  2. Here's what I would start with:

    Abilities:

    Barbaric Yell

    Savage Defiance

    One Stands Alone

    Thick-Skinned

    Threatening Presence

    Heart of Fury

    Dragon Leap

    Barbaric Retaliation

    Talents:

    Weapon and Shield Style

    Veteran's Recovery

Stalwart Defiance (does anybody know if this would modify the Savage Defiance from Dragon's Maw? :)  I'm not an expert on what buffs stack in this game, so this talent might be worthless )

Hold the Line (depending on how many tanks you'll be playing with, you could respec this or Stalwart Defiance out for Accurate Carnage when you get Dragon's Maw)

Weapon Focus (Your style of choice, I'd probably choose Noble and use Spelltongue since it synergizes well with Heart of Fury)

    Superior Deflection

    Bear's Fortitude

    Body Control

Grab a healing amplification item and enough survival for at least healing recovery II, and you're gonna be pretty hard to take down.

The main problem I see is that you'll pretty much need every stat, other than maybe dex.

If retaliation still triggers carnage in 3.0 (haven't tested it so I'm not sure) I'd focus on grabbing as much retaliation equipment as possible.

I believe Heart of Fury procs bashing.

  3. I had really hard time with them as well. In the end I defeated them by kiting one half of the group with the least useful party member on that potion that grants a bonus to the movement speed. The other half was more or less easily dispatched by the rest of my party. I can't imagine how it would be possible to defeat them with a less cheesy tactic. But my imagination isn't the greatest thing there is, so... ;)

This was basically how I beat Thaos the first time way back when.  Speedy run, chant summon, rinse and repeat :)

  4. Here, the combination of 3 to 4 quick switching blunderbusses + Expose Vulnerabilites + Combusting Wounds is very good. If you want to take out one single enemy very quickly, this is a good alternative. I'm playing this variant atm. It's alot of fun and I will post a build about it in the future.

Basically you pile up as much DR bypass as you can and use Combusting Wounds. Then you shoot the enemy with a blunderbuss. This generates 6 Combusting Wounds.

This really makes me wish there was a melee weapon that does damage in the same way as the blunderbuss, like a cat-o-nine-tails or something. :)
