Had same issues with mixed level group being unable to claim level up rewards for the higher level party members because they would fly up off the screen. The work around that worked for me was to select a party member who was X ( the higher level heroes unavailable for that portion of the reward) so the boarder was glowing around them, before hitting continue. My thanks to who figured that one out.

Playing from iPad 2 On normal difficulty On successful completion of questing with a level 3 dwarf archer and level 9 assassin chick, cleric chick, Mage chick, the black crusader, and beast girl. I am able to select any of the rewards available for leveling my new archer up to 3, then whichever character I pick next to receive their card reward ( level 8-9) the card flies up on the screen and is uninteractable. Also the front card reward I had received for the archer disappears and leaves behind its pulsing background animation.
