  1. The only reason they were afraid is because the only Jedi that has ever been able to do such a thing was one who sided with the other team, Revan, and were therefore afraid that such a power could be used against them. If a loyal Jedi had such an ability, it would have been studied and mystified over, not reviled as it was by the vengeful Jedi Council. In the end, the Council wanted a face to put the blame for the defection of so many Jedi to the banner of Revan on, and that face was the only Jedi who returned from the dark ranks to face judgement--- the Exile.
  2. One way you could encourage the "taking off" of cloaks etc. during battle is by introducing an Agility score. This would also allow Force Users to wear heavy armour- it would not impede Force usage (except with Mandalorian armour and some Sith Soldier armour) but simply decrease your ability to move quickly and perform acrobatics, as well as hand-to-hand combat. This would also make the Echani custom of fighting in the bare essentials make a little more sense as well... By the way on the Council's accusations that the Exile's "wound" was somehow responsible for Nihulus was simply evidence that they were scared of the fact they had no idea how or why the Exile was able to "cut himself off" from the Force, or what exactly the "wound" was anyway, as well as how he could still weild and feel the Force whilst having it cut off from him. So they just figured it meant something bad.
  3. That's what the Council would have him believe, but in fact the Exile severed himself from the Force to protect himself from the destruction that was wrought upon Malachor V and all the Jedi there. He was able to exert his influence over others, but fed off nothing. In the end, the Exile healed the wound in the Force within himself just before he left in search of Revan.
  4. What about this idea: What if the thing that Revan left the Galaxy looking for wasn't actually a horde of Sith, but a Sith artifact? I had this idea last night that wouldn't entirley fit with my Secret of the Savartii storyline but it would still be cool: Revan has heard of an artifact called the Mask of Nihulus, a powerful midichlorian amplifying device that is imbued with the spirits of the thousands of dead Sith who once wore it, and passes on its immense power and darkness to the next user. Pretty much the entire wisdom of the Sith is contained within it, and they who wear it will cease to exist as a person and simply become a conduit of power for the long-extinguished Sith race. In this way, the Sith has survived through an artifact, a Mask who turns each wearer into Darth Nihulus, Harbinger of Destruction who will bring about the rebirth of the Sith. Revan has gone looking for it, but unbeknowest to Revan, the one known as Darth Nihulus came to Telos, seeking to destroy what he percieved to be the Last of the Jedi, but was struck down by the one known as the Jedi Exile, who now took the Mask and now wears it him/herself. The Jedi then left in search of Revan, believing Revan to know the whereabouts of the remenants of the Sith race, but eventually the Exile is driven into darkness by the Mask and becomes yet another Darth Nihulus reborn, more powerful than ever. And the ensuing cat and mouse chase that will take place between former Master and Apprentice will shake the foundations of the very Galaxy... come to think of it I prolly will incorporate this somehow into my storyline, it seems to good to waste... btw. if ur interested in reading it then you can check out the updates I've made here: http://forums.filefront.com/forumdisplay.php?f=999 cheers! spiderspag
  5. Bah it'll come along eventually they prolly just want to invest a lot more time and effort in K3 than K2... the engine, the storyline, etc. And there's no way they're gonna tie this series up with KOTOR 3... it totally revitalized the Star Wars gaming industry and solidly mounted it in the RPG industries hall of fame, in my opinion.
  6. If your interested in reading my (detailed and as yet incomplete) suggestion for a KOTOR 3 storyline which would involve the child of some (as yet unrevealed) Force Sensitives who is caught in the middle of a war between the Jedi and the Sith and a newly emergent group of Shadow Jedi called the Savartii (whom the Jedi and the Sith will eventually secretly unite to fight against) and the Jedi Exile who has become corrupted by the power of the Mask of Nihulus and has united with GoTo and the Exchange in the continuing quest to restore Balance to the Galaxy, then click here: http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=40985 Unfortunatley it was closed to flamers who didn't like where it was posted spamming like hell, but if you like it then I'll edit my post as I have time to write more ideas... cheers, spiderspag
  7. Dudes chill out! I just wanted to know what u gamers thought of the storyline idea, noone gets any comments on the KOTOR3 ideas thread coz there is too many of them, if you don't like it, then cool, but don't rip me to peices... and if you have the time, some constructive criticism would be nice!
  8. Lol what do you mean? And will people PLEASE stop unneccesarily quoting my storyline idea? This thread is about it, so there's no need to quote it. and if you've done it before, please take the time to delete the quotations, (just so its easier for people to read this thread.) thanks. spiderspag
  9. Thanks dude but can you try not to quote my entire idea as it takes up waaaay too much space... quote a relevant part if you want, or not at all. But thanks again! And I did post it there but it wasn't looked at at all, as people are posting random gameplay suggestions at machine-gun pace. If I get asked to move it by a mod I will but otherwise, enjoy reading this just where it is...
  10. The Secret of the Savartii (possible KOTOR 3 storyline) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A while back I was in the process of developing a storyline for a Star Wars novel, but perhaps it would work just as well as a game, possibly as a sequel to KOTOR 2. I'll get around to writing the story one day, but let me share the idea with you all. Please don't copy it without my permission. It is called the Secrets of the Savartii and begins around halfway through the events that transpire in KOTOR 2. BACKSTORY: Even though the Jedi have mainly vanished without a trace, the war between the Republic and Union of Liberated Systems under the control of the Sith rages on. This chaotic scene provides the perfect breeding ground for the seed that will eventually bloom into what would be the greatest threat to both the Sith and the Jedi Order... a league of powerful Shadow Jedi known as the Order of the Savartii. The Savartii is led by a Zabrak called Salturnn Dexx, a rogue Jedi Knight who abandoned the Order when he became frustrated with the percieved weakness within the Jedi Order. Like so many before him, Dexx's thirst for knowledge and power threatened to take him to the Dark Side, and for a time, Dexx existed as one of the Sith. However, his frustrations with the limitations of a bipolar Force philosophy enabled him to do what was thought impossible- free himself from the Dark Side, and walk among the Twilight that existed between both the Light and the Dark. It was there that he found undreamed of power. Wandering the Galaxy in ponderance of the true nature of the Force, he took on several Disciples from both the Jedi and the Sith who, like him, fell from their paths and chose to walk not along, but between them. Among these Disciples was Darth Trayus, who became Kriea, as well as her powerful apprentice, called Revan. As the War dragged on, more and more Force Sensitives became frustrated with their hollow alliegences and were recruited by Dexx and his Disciples to be one of the Savartii, until it came to be that the Jedi and the Sith, locked in a mortal battle, unwittingly had a new enemy who had no alleigences to any world or either side of the Force, as well as a deadly purpose- to enact the dissolusion of the Jedi and the Sith, and the creation of a Force-sensitive nation who neither served nor ruled anyone... And so it came to be that the War became an instrument of Dexx's machinations. Both the Jedi and the Sith became infiltrated by the Savartii, who sabotaged both from within. Savartii agents posing as rogue Jedi went on personal crusades and demanded more control over the Republic, intensifying the animosity between the two parties. Following KOTOR, the Sith Lord known as Revan bowed out from the war and dissappeared to rejoin the Savartii. When the Savartii agents within the Jedi Order betrayed them, the Order collapsed, and the remaining Jedi either changed sides, fled into hiding, or were hunted down and killed by the Sith. Which was precisley the Savartii's intention. Without a well-defined enemy to face, the warlike Sith stagnated and became weaker, and more fragmented. The events of KOTOR 2 saw Kreia seduce a fallen former General of the Mandalorian Wars onto the Shadow Path and kill her former master and apprentice, Darth Sion and Darth Nihulus, as well as orchestrate the death's of several Jedi Masters. She was eventually struck down by her understudy, who, disguising itself as Nihulus, took the Ebon Hawk and fled the Galaxy in search of Revan. But Kreia's work, and Dexx's bidding, was done nonetheless... with the Jedi and the Sith shattered, the Savartii was ready to strike... THE MAIN CHARACTER begins as a young child who is the adopted child of a smuggler named Albion Nyyar. Albion runs arms to splinter factions and independace movements on both sides of the Galactic Divide, which is the term given to the frontline between the Republic and the LoLW. Little does he know that he is actually the son of two Force Sensitives (a Jedi and a Sith) who fought against each other in the Mandalorian Wars but fell in love and defected to the Savartii. (More on this later if you like this idea.) The child begins to suspect his/her father isn't telling him/her all there is to know about its history when it begins having dreams that cause it to nearly tear its own room apart. The child meets a Jedi-exile (a Twi'Lek male called Zev Seflard) and his apprentice, Andus Damoralein, who are customers of its father, being custodians of a small colony that is being threatened by space pirates. Zev recognizes the Force sensitivity in the child almost right away and, against Albions wishes, tells the child of the Jedi, and offers to take the boy into training amongst a group of Jedi-exiles who will one day restore peace and justice to the galaxy. And this is where the child's story begins. ON KREIA AND REVAN AND THEIR INVOLVEMENT WITH THE SAVARTII On Revan and Kreia and their involvement with the Savartii- Many of the darkest moments in the Galaxy's history during and after the Mandalorian Wars can be attributed to the manipulations of Salturnn Dexx and his Savartii. Darth Trayus was one of the first Sith Lord since the legacy of Darth Bane to break the Sith Code of Two, when she established the Trayus Academy on Malachor V and proceeded to teach Force Sensitives there of the ways of the Dark Side, however she became disenchanted with the chaos that had been caused by the percieved divide between Dark and Light, and was so ensnared by the teachings of Salturnn Dexx who promised her an end to the conflict and the rise of a nation of Shadow Jedi, one of whom would be she, if she wanted. And so Trayus engineered two of her brightest pupils, Darth Sion and Darth Nihulus, to be instruments of destruction for the Jedi Order, and a young, passionate Jedi by the name of Revan (who she introduced to the Savartii) to bring about the Mandalorian Wars which would prove to be the demise of many thousands of Jedi and Sith alike. Revan used the Mass Shadow Generator to destroy Malachor V and many thousands of Jedi, who rallied many Dark Jedi around her only to dissappear, leaving the Sith in a disunified state of chaos. Following the events of KOTOR, Revan returned to the Savartii and there prepared to strike the next crippling blow against the Jedi and the Sith, but this task was appointed to her master. Although they percieved her Shadow-inclined motives and deposed her as their leader, Nihulus and Sion did Traya's bidding nonetheless... Katarr was destroyed and much of the remaining Jedi with it, and Sion established an elite group of assassins to hunt down and kill any Jedi they met. Darth Trayus then cast aside her dark side persona and became Kreia, and found through the Force who would be the next instrument of the Savartii's bidding, the Jedi Exile who fought as a General in the Mandalorian Wars. She percieved a "wound" in the Force within the Exile which she percieved as the key to preserving the Balance between Light and Darkness within oneself, and attempted to train the Exile as a Shadow Jedi. The Exile served her well, and by the end of the events of KOTOR 2, both Sion, Nihulus, the Jedi Council in hiding, and many hundreds of Sion's assassins and dark-side students of the Trayus Academy were dead. The Jedi Exile eventually cut Traya down, but her will, and the will of Salturnn Dexx was done nonetheless... the Jedi and the Sith were broken and near extinct, and the Galaxy was ripe for the taking. ... KOTOR 3 characters should be highly customizable, including their sex, appearence, and temprement. Perhaps a generic name for male and female should be given for the purposes of conversations. Temprement will affect conversation options, as will the Force Aura meter. The player, as aforementioned, will begin the game as a young adult around 16-17 years of age, (although will progress in 3 parts so that in the end the player is several years older and much more powerful.) The game will begin at around halfway through the KOTOR timeline. Although the player dosen't know it yet, it dosen't know its real parents, and is the adopted child of an "independant," a non-aligned spacer and smuggler who's name is Albion Nyyar. His ship is called the Starsprite. The training/introductory mission revolves around a contract Nyyar is undertaking: delivering a cache of weapons from LoLW space to a remote independant colony that was severed from the Republic during the Mandalorian Wars, that has recently suffered houndings from a local band of space pirates. Just as the Starsprite comes out of hyperspace above the colony on Kreegus VII, it becomes accosted by an orbiting pirate ship. In conjunction with the trusty droid, the player must assist Nyyar by repairing damage inflicted on the ship when it gets hit by missile fire, as well as administering medical aid to itself and Nyyar until Nyyar can evade the cruiser and pass through the atmosphere. Upon landing they find the colony under seige by pirates. Nyyar instructs the player to remain on the ship and provide covering fire with the ships weapons whilst he attempts to break the seige, but he runs into trouble and the player must assist him. Once the seige is over, both Nyyar and the player are thanked by the custodian of the colony, a Twi'Lek called Zev Seflard, and his understudy, a young boy called Andus Damoralein. To the players interest, its father seems to be quite familiar with Seflard. Seflard seems very friendly, but his understudy is very quiet. They stay the night, and the player experiences a nightmare of a heated argument, a scream of rage, a flash of red and the glimpse of a face twisted into a terrible mask of hate. When the player awakens, the room it sleeps in looks as though it has been torn apart, and Seflard stands at the door, watching the child, telling it to go back to sleep. Later, the child who sleeps restlessly overhears its father and Seflard discussing the child. Nyyar seems to be worried and is firmly opposing something Seflard is saying. The next day, against Nyyar's wishes, Seflard converses with the player on the Jedi, the Sith, the Mandalorian Wars and how it has torn the galaxy apart. He also hints that the Jedi may not have faced their greatest challenge yet. When the player asks Seflard how he knows so much about it, Seflard replies that he was a Jedi, once. When the player says it thought all the Jedi were gone, Seflard smiles ruefully and agrees that the Jedi are certainly a rare breed these days, but assured the player that the Galaxy still holds Jedi who have the Republic in their hearts. Later, Nyyar announces that Seflard and his understudy have chartered their ship for passage to Telos, although he seems very unhappy about it. During the journey, the player witnesses Seflard instructing Andus in the use of a lightsaber, and Andus seems irritated by the interuption. When the player inquiers as to why they fly to Telos, Seflard reveals that Telos was the location of a hidden Jedi Academy, currently under the custody of a Jedi Master and ally of his, a woman named Atris. It is on Telos that many of the surviving relics and secrets of the Jedi remain. And yesterday Seflard recieved a distress signal by the Echani guardians of the Academy, reporting that their location had been betrayed and they were in need of assistance. Seflard then leaves the two children alone, and they converse together. The player inquires as to the life of a Jedi with Andus. After the conversation has ended, Andus reveals that his master has sensed the Force is strong with the player. Dumbfounded, the player goes to sleep, this time to dream of a tall Irodonian (zabrak, who is actually Salturnn Dexx) beckoning to the player. The player is then awoken by its father. They had arrived at Telos. ... An alternate title for this storyline could be the Mask of Nihulus, because in it the Jedi Exile has taken the Mask to disguise his/her true identity as she/he searches for Revan. Little does the Exile know, however, that the Mask was given to Nihulus by Kreia, and was actually fashioned by the Savartii... it is a Midichlorian Amplifier, and gives the wearer a hyper-sensitivity to the Force that will either drive the wearer insane with power causing it to destroy him/herself and everything around it or prevent them from using the Force altogether. In this game, the main character will end up searching for both the Jedi Exile and the Savartii. The Savartii will reveal themselves and seize all Jedi/Sith significant worlds as their own, led by Revan and Salturnn Dexx; and the Jedi Exile and the criminal organization known as the Exchange (led by GoTO), will become unlikley allies of the Republic... and the Jedi and the Sith watch the battle unfold from the sidelines, afraid to reveal themselves lest they be finally destroyed. But what will become the darkest secret in Jedi and Sith history will soon come to pass, in which they secretly unite to defeat the common threat to each other, the Savartii. The main character is unwittingly being used as a pawn of both the Jedi and the Sith to bring about the destruction of the Savartii, and the only personh who knows of this is the Jedi Exile him/herself... Tell me what you think so far! If you want I'll post more missions/backstories/etc as I think of them. Cheers! spiderspag
  11. Lol I loved K2 and STILL haven't played K1... I heard that the first had a better storyline... but i think I would find it harder to enjoy now that I have tasted the enchancements of KOTOR 2 to have them taken away again...
