  1. Huh. I kind of liked the card game method - *especially* in a video game format where the game can remember which cards have been removed more easily for you. I wonder if this is related to the current inability to pass on acquiring a boon.

No it's because you can have different parties with the same characters in it, so it would be almost impossible to keep track of which character has which cards removed from their box.

The quest mode is an attempt to make the game work more like a typical mobile game with permanent character progression. Even when that gets patched to work, I'm not sure that is the best way to play Pathfinder Adventures. I am also a bit wary of the fact that currently character progression is only saved locally and not in the cloud (your purchases and gold are saved in the cloud). I'm counting on buying a new iPad later this year, and as it is that would mean losing all character progression.

While we only have the first two adventure decks, quest mode is really the only way to play PA. And given the way things have been going thus far, I'm losing a bit of faith that the rest of the adventure decks will be out anytime soon.

This is even more complex game than Magic the Gathering so it will take some time untill most of the stuff get fixed.

Having played both, I would respectfully disagree. There are more possible weird card interactions in Magic the Gathering than in Pathfinder Adventure Card Game. Having said that, my iPad version of Magic Duels was so bugged that I couldn't connect to any server for two months last year. So in comparison Pathfinder Adventures is doing better.

Did the beta version have the quest mode or only the story mode? The quest mode isn't working for me at all, but apparently its getting patched in the next update.

The last two beta versions had the quest mode. And it was working nearly flawlessly in the last version. That's one of the things that has me so confused as to why its messed up again.

  4. I don't know much about programming either, but I DO know that the beta, in its final form, was actually working better than the release version is so far. So I'm pretty mystified at what could have happened. Like many others, I would love to get the full campaign... but right now I'm holding off.

Whether or not I decide to give them money depends on two things-

    1) Fix the bugs, especially the ones that weren't even in the beta.

    2) Don't take forever to release the rest of the adventure packs.

  5.

Using 1-3 characters doesn't work for fixing quest mode.

exactly, i'm playing with the base 2 character both on ios and android tablets. freeze at loading on both.

how do you fix the freeze screen.  mine will not do anything.

They are working on it, supposedly fixed in the next patch. Which, by the way things have been going, will probably be out... some time whenever or like next month or something. This game is a disaster, so far.

  6. Not sure if this is really the right forum for this, but on the outside chance it could be considered spoilerish I figured better safe than sorry. Anyhoo on to my question-

During the beta test, it seems that characters would level up very quickly and that party level went up too quickly as well. With the release version, it seems that characters still level up pretty quickly, but my characters are level 8 and the party level is still B. Is it supposed to take that long for the party to level up?

  7. Well, good thing it's all a buddy-buddy system for the beta. I'm certain everything will be ironed out by the release date on Mar... no wait, April... I'm betting 2017.

I mean, what could -possibly- go wrong?

I can tell you with certainty that not everyone who is in the beta was a friend or past tester or even past backer. Sometimes all you have to do is ask. Its pretty amazing what being friendly instead of snarky can get you in this world. You should try it some time!

  8. This could just be my misinterpretation of the rules... but when I was fighting a siren, I was under the impression that would be considered a combat wisdom check? The opposite seemed to be the case... Seoni wasn't able to use her Arcane Strike ability to substitute the wisdom check, while I WAS able to play a blessing of Shelyn(two dice for non-combat wisdom checks) for two extra dice instead of one.

  9. Is there any info on the price of the season pass in different regions, namely in Europe? $25 is roughly €22, but it's not like it's uncommon for digital content to cost the same number of euros as it does dollars, if not a lot more.

€22 and I'm in day one. €25 is pushing it but I'll probably pay (and grumble about it a little). Over €25 and I'm out, just on principle.

Please keep in mind that if you were to get everything physically, it would be well over 100 dollars or euros or what have you.

  10. Why are you assuming that we won't get a PC version until after they finish the multiplayer? It's already in Unity which is a universal platform that runs just as well on PC as it does on tablets. So with just a few minor UI tweaks they could turn around very quickly with a PC version. And I can actually say from experience that the tweaks needed to the UI for the game to fit comfortably on a PC screen should be minimal at most.
