    Hey there,

It looks like there's a bug with the card that's making you discard a card to play it.  Can you roll the dice if you discard a card after trying to play the weapon?

    Thanks for reporting!

  2. Device: Hudl 2

    OS: Android 5.1

    Pass & Play: OFF

    Permadeath: OFF

    Mode: Quest

Party Members: Merisiel, Seoni, Harsk, Lem, Lini, Amiri

    Turn Order: as party

    Scenario: any with Gogmurt

    Difficulty: Normal

    Wildcards: N/A

Trigger: encounter Gogmurt, use Lini's Beast Form

Although discarding a card (in this case a Blessing) should give a D10, I could only get a D4. I get it that I can't use the D4+n bonus power, but surely Beast Form should work?

    Hi Mccrispy,

Do you happen to remember what the scenario power and location were when you fought Gogmurt?  Also, was her Beast Form upgraded at all?

    Thanks!

    Also:

More specifically, you can use Animal Trick as this is 'playing Lini's power', not 'playing an ally card with Animal trait" (Revealing an Animal for its own power DOES count as playing that card)

Longshot, as usual, is correct.  We like to think of the cost of player powers (Backstab, Animal Trick, etc) as "fuel".  The game doesn't care what kind of fuel you use, so the restrictions don't apply.  Only when you're playing that card for one of its powers does it matter. :)

  3.

Augury: Shows 2 in Gallery, I had 3 at one point before banishing one on accident. Have not encountered a third since.

Strength: Shows 1 in Gallery, I had 2 at one point until switching out one for a different spell.

Find Traps: Shows 1 in Gallery, I have 2 and actually encountered the card while I had the Find Traps in hand.

Masterwork Tools: Shows 2 in Gallery, I have 3.

So a quick update: I forgot to check the C deck for extra spells. This is where the extra low level cards come from (MW tools, strength, augury, find traps).

We should definitely take a look and see what we can do to lessen confusion here - not everyone will think to check Deck C for these extra cards, and thus confusion ensues. :)

I currently have a character at level 40 in quest mode, meaning I have does many scenarios. Below are cards I have not seen in quest mode at all. I know that this is hard to prove because lack of evidence does not equal evidence of non-existence.

Haste: AD2, A member mentioned this was confirmed to be a mistake in the quest mode AD for this card.

    Scrying: AD3.

    Swipe: AD3.

    Jakadros: AD3.

    Vale: AD3.

In Story Mode, we're sticking to the physical game's format and you'll find cards from their respective physical boxes.  These boxes are how you see cards ordered in the Gallery.  In Quest Mode, however, we've modified when certain cards appear - for example, Yap the Pixie, a deck 3 Ally, can be encountered in Tier B in Quest Mode.  Similarly, Augury, which was deemed too powerful for the early levels, was bumped up to a higher Tier than the Story Mode equivalent.  So, the deck numbers you'll find in the Gallery will not 100% correspond to the Tier in which you may find a card in Quest Mode (although they do continue to match in most cases).

That being said, we'll look into these cards and make sure they're showing up when they're supposed to.

Below are cards that are AD4, and not Treasure cards. Since I hit level 40, AD4 treasure cards have been appearing in quest mode.

Lizard: This showed up in my 20s with an AD2 on it. Now that I hit level 40 the AD has changed to 4

Greater Luckstone: This appeared in my 30s with an AD4 on it. It changed back and forth between AD3 and AD4 several times, but is not only showing AD4. I did not think this weird be cause the Cloak of Elvenkind is in both ADB and AD2 and changes depending on where you are in story/quest mode.

At level 40, you've hit Tier 4 in Quest Mode, so encountering the Tier 4 treasure cards is correct.  However, you won't encounter cards found in Tier 4 from story mode until Deck 4 is released.  In Quest Mode, Lizard should be Tier 2, and the Greater Luckstone should be Tier 3.  We'll take a look into the deck numbers swapping.

    Thanks for reporting! :)

  4. Hey Everyone,

For those of you that have noticed this issue, can you please provide the following information when possible?

    - Game Mode (Story or Quest)

    - Difficulty

    - Size of party

    - Gold (How much did you have?)

    - PFID

We're actively looking into it - but it seems that it's not a 100% issue, so the more information you guys can provide, the sooner we can track it down and resolve it! :)

    Thanks!

  5. I had two separate bugs with ogres make me have to forfeit quests since the patch, so I thought I would post them here.  These are both with a party of 4 (more party info at the end) in Quest mode on Nightmare difficulty on an Android device.  I am trying to include any relevant details that I remember here, more party and device details at the end.

Bug 1 - Graul Ogrekin don't do their encounter roll to modify the henchman after the scenario modifier to increase ogre difficulty by 2d4.

    Hey Sighence,

Do you by chance remember the map that you encountered this issue on?

    Possible ones:

    - Magnimar (Very large, busy city)

    - Sandpoint (small town)

    - The Lost Coast (wilderness with water at the top left, mountains, plains and many rivers)

    - Turtleback Ferry (wilderness with a large lake in the middle and large forest)

Also, can you tell me the version number you're on?  You'll see it at the bottom of the Settings window from the main screen.  I just need the first three numbers.

    Thanks!

  6. - Revealing the Sankeskin to add +1 to your Dexterity combat is *playing an Armor card on the check*

    - this mean, on a failed check, you shouldn't be able to play Armor card again to absorb damage (arguably, Shields may be exception to this)

    - instead, player can Recharge/Bury the Snakeskin to negate damage on the check that it was Revealed on

Longshot is quite correct here.  One card per type per check unless the card states otherwise.  I'll make sure we get it addressed.  Thanks for bringing it up! :)

    Hi Weskingofscots,

That doesn't sound right.  I have a couple of questions to help me figure out what's going on:

    - Were you in story mode or quest mode?

    - Did you have other characters in the party?  If so, which?

    - Were you able to select a new power for Harsk (the dwarf)?

    - Were you able to proceed from the rewards and return to the scenario select screen?

    - Are you on Android?  If so, could you provide a copy of your save so we can investigate? :)

    To acquire a save:

    1. Connect the Android Device to your PC.
    2. Open Windows Explorer and open the device
    3. Open the Android Folder, then data -> net.obsidian.pacg1 -> files
    4. Copy the PACG1_SAVE_GAMES folder to your PC
    5. Zip and send!

    Thanks!

Edit: Something else I thought of recently - did Harsk complete all scenarios in that adventure?  Its not currently very clear, but you must complete all Deck 3 scenarios successfully before you can acquire Roles - which are the adventure reward.  You can view his completion on the character sheet under the completion tab.  If there's anything in Deck 3 that isn't marked as complete, run that scenario and you should acquire the roles after it's done.

I've been playing the game for a week now and just hit my first show stopping bug. I've completed the first two missions in Burnt Offerings and just started Trouble at Sandpoint. Regardless of what I do now--any number of characters, any locations, and now even going back to any earlier scenarios (e.g. Local Heroes, or even the original scenarios in Perils of the Lost Coast--I encounter this bug, which renders the game unplayable.

The first exploration card is always the villain Elyrium . The cut screen opens and shows a blank card with flames around it, and then there's an infinite loop where she generates a Wrathful Sinspawn. Before I can interact with anything, I get the cut screen with the blank card. When I click continue, the process repeats. If I'm quick enough, I can forfeit or quit the game. This now happens with the first encounter at any location in any scenario in any adventure set.

    Hello thergenrader,

Thanks for the report!  We're looking into the issue to see if we can reproduce it.  I do have some questions - when you say that it now occurs with the first encounter at any location in any scenario - is this using the same party, or does it also occur with new ones?  If it's just with the same party, you can delete the party and reform it with your experienced characters to resume where you hit the bug, and you should be able to avoid it.  If it's with all parties, that's a bigger issue.  In that case, could you PM me your playfab id?  You can find it under Settings on the main screen. :)

    Additional questions:

    1. Did you play in quest mode prior to encountering this bug?
    2. What locations are your other characters at?
    3. Did you happen to exit the game at the start of Trouble in Sandpoint prior to encountering the issue?  If so, at what point? (Location select, villain encounter, etc).  Did you exit via quit game or by force closing the app
  9. Hey guys!

Any chance someone on Android would be willing to provide a save file when the issue with the general store is encountered?  We've tracked down some of the other issues mentioned in this thread, but this one remains elusive for us, and the save would help immensely!

    To acquire saves:

    1. Connect the Android Device to your PC.
    2. Open Windows Explorer and open the device
    3. Open the Android Folder, then data -> net.obsidian.pacg1 -> files
    4. Copy the PACG1_SAVE_GAMES folder to your PC
    5. Zip and send!

Whomever may provide a save, please PM it to me. :)

    Thanks!

  10.

At this point, Obsidian can't say anything further on the matter without losing face, so I doubt we'll hear another official statement on the Impaler soon (or ever) :(

It's evident that Paizo wants the Impaler to have proficiency. For your home game, play the printed card as is. In the digital game, you get to choose. :)

Well, not really. I can only guess that there's a lot of people involved in this project, and it's not always sure who had talked with whom. Sometimes things get lost along the chain of communication, it happens. So maybe Obsidian talked to Mike at Loneshark games (who, I guess is more involved with the game design), while maybe Vic (more responsible for the general design and consistency, far as I can tell) goes by Mike's last statement few months back. Or maybe it's something else entirely.

We get text updates from Paizo and update our cards accordingly.  I suppose the difficulty text was lost somewhere in transit.  We treat it as word of law unless something stands out as particularly odd, and given that the Impaler is a spear and other spears don't require proficiency, it seemed legit.  In the process of double checking on this with Paizo, I saw Vic's ruling in the same thread: http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2syxi?Does-Impaler-of-Thorns-really-require#19

    Vic:

The change was accidental. Weapon proficiency is desired.

As good as it is to not require proficiency for casters, it turns out to be a bug after all.  My apologies!  We'll get this rectified. :)  Good catch!

  11. Evasion is my favorite ability.  Merisiel is always in my party, and I frequently play her solo.

You can evade all summoned monsters and they banish (not ideal for closures or hordes that require them all to be beaten, but still has value - particularly if your team member failed a check).  It's wonderful against Justice Ironbriar and Erylium - why fight summoned monsters that you don't need to prior to a villain fight?  It's also glorious fun in the General Store.  Evade your way to items/armor/weapons, discard to explore and evade to more goodies.  Always evade the Shadow and Spectre if you don't have magic weapons, and why encounter the Enchanter unless you have to?  Maybe you're in a group and you run into the villain early - evade and close the other locations off then burn the deck for the villain.  Start of Turn Bandits at the Guard Tower are a non-issues with evasion, as well.

In my solo Merisiel games, I evade-to-win.  I'll encounter all boons, and barriers I can beat.  I'll frequently evade monsters until I get the villain/henchmen shuffled up to the top of the deck.  I'm more likely to evade monsters in locations that are a bit tougher - like the Waterfront or Glassworks, and will encounter less threatening monsters in safer locations.  You have to keep an eye on the timer when you do this - but solo you have 10 turns per location, and if you can find and close in less than 10 turns you're ahead of the game.

Then you have characters like Ekkie, one of the promo goblins in the physical game (and they're something I'm excited to get into the digital game).  In Wrath of the Righteous, there is a location where the difficulty of checks to defeat monsters is increased by the number of people playing - so, in our 6 player games monsters there can be pretty rough.  Ekkie has a special evasion ability that evades and throws the monster to a random location.  Great fun, and if you don't mind the risk that you'll just throw them back into your current location, it can be great for moving that tough creature, or the monster that's pointless to fight elsewhere.  Giant Fly, I'm looking at you.  (For those unfamiliar, the Giant Fly will be shuffled into a random location when defeated).

  12. So, today during a quest I encountered the villain and was going to close the Swallowtail Festival

    1) Encounter Villain

    2) Temp close Swallowtail Festival

    3) Encounter Wrathful Sinspawn as part of the close and defeat it

    4) Get a chance to permanently close the location (seems wrong somehow, but sure)

    5) Fail the check to close the location (Failed combat against Goblin Warrior)

    6) Jumps straight to villain encounter without any other chances to close

In any case, 6 is definitely a bug.  Whether or not 4 is a bug is something I'll have to use the rules to clarify.

EDIT: 4 is not a bug, as Hawkmoon points out.

6 is definitely a bug.  Thanks for the report! :)

  13. @ Obsidian: Guys, it'd be greatly appreciated if you can check your code and post here the ACTUAL requirements for Unlock. Once we know EXACTLY what you're tracking, at least we can stop reporting it as bug, and start working on getting the bonus cards.

As is, the text of the Unlocks suggest that each scenario must be completed once, no matter by which party, while in fact other factors are obviously involved (which I'd call a bug, but I guess it could be design).

The intention is that once your account has completed legendary difficulty for all scenarios in a given adventure, you receive the samisen/shield/mask/etc.

Obviously, it's not doing that.  It appears that current functionality is that if you use the same party slot to complete all legendary difficulties, even if you use different characters, then you will unlock the reward properly.  However, if you start a new, separate party, and they complete some of the legendary difficulties so that across multiple parties you have all legendary difficulty scenarios complete, then you don't receive the reward.  This is a bug!

    We're working on it. :)

  14. Side not, I have noticed a handful of times that some times the Collapsed passage will be ignored and I will be able to just draw the next location card anyway (when this happens, the collapsed passage card is to the right of the location deck and not on top of it.)  Figured I would just mention that as I am guessing that this bug has to do with that card.

Side note to your side note:

Collapsed Ceiling is designed so that it's only encountered on the first exploration of that turn.  That's why it moves to the side the way that it does - so you can continue exploring that turn without encountering it again, per the physical game's rules. :)

  15.

This is an omission on the digital card; the physical card mentions the proficiency requirement. I just ran into this myself when giving the spear to Lini.

I was kinda hoping they changed the design, as the want for proficiency on this weapon sucks. First, it's a spear (and no other Spear requires proficiency) , and second, its the only halfway decent Melee weapon that weaker caster character can guaranteed get their hands on for support. It's basically perfect back up for a solo Ezren, and I had the feeling they slapped this arbitrary requirement just to spite the poor mage :(

This bug is actually the result of a change in text - while the card in the physical game states the difficulty increase (and was originally implemented to match this), it was later modified per Paizo to make it more in line with other spears and not require proficiency.  Text is correct; functionality is not!  However, this is also already fixed internally. :)

  16. Also (since this is the last post I'm allowed to make today I should report this too) I'm often not able to play the Sanctuary spell in situations where I should be. If Lini is by herself at a location it seems like she's usually not allowed to play it to evade a monster.

    I'm using a Nexus 7 tablet with Android 6.0.1.

Which monster(s) were you trying to evade?  Sanctuary is a mental spell and cannot be used vs Undead - they're immune to the Mental trait, which Sanctuary has.

  17. Situation: Asus TF101, stock installation, runs Android 4.0.3.

Play Store won't show the game, and also says it's not supported on this device when going there directly. At the same time, the Play Store says that Android 4.0.3 and higher is supported.

Is this an off by one error? Is the TF101 not supported at all?

Unfortunately your device isn't supported due to hardware.  Our game runs on Unity 5, and this version of Unity requires that Android devices support an extension called NEON.  Your device's chipset does not support this extension.

If you were to update to a new device that runs the same type of chipset (yours is a tegra), chipsets of Tegra 3 or higher are supported.  You can look up the specs for your device, and most others, on GSM Arena. (Link goes directly to specs for your current device).

    Sorry for the inconvenience!

  18. These are all the files that were in that folder.  For some reason it removed them all out of the SAVE1 etc folders.

    https://www.dropbox.com/sh/3g3kezk8cssto0r/AADtqsFXJasoYqCXX9DLyh63a?dl=0

Hoping to not have to restart a 3rd time so I'm waiting before I reinstall to see if there's potential other fix.  I've tried clearing the cache and will try the tutorial again.

Quick update, after clearing the cache and doing the tutorial again I was able to rebuild my party and get my content back!  For some reason though it showed 2 Harsk under the experienced tab.  I haven't looked at the main page tab to see if I still have the 6 merisiel issue.

Thanks for the save!  We'll look into the cause right away.

Glad to hear you were able to resolve the issue. :)

  19. I was playing with 2 out of 5 locations still open. With characters present at both.

I encountered the villain at one of the locations, got the option to temporary close the other location, which was successful.

I then successfully defeated the villain.

I would have expected the game to end at that point (villain defeated, no other locations open at that moment).

Instead I got the shuffle and hide-the-villiain animation, with cards being seen to drop on both locations, followed by the sequence that shows that the location where I encountered the villain is being closed and the remaining cards for that location removed.

Shortly after I lost the game as there was only one card remaining in my blessings deck, so I don't know of the villain really was shuffled into the one location that I had temporary closed, or if, as the animation showed before, there really was a 50% chance that the villain was put back into the location where I encountered him and then thrown out when that location closed.

    A few questions:

    1.  Which scenario?

    2. Which locations were temp closed?

    3. Which characters were there?

  20. To help us track this issue down, can you folks on Android send us a copy of your save files?

    If you're using PC:

    1. Connect the Android Device to your PC.
    2. Open Windows Explorer and open the device
    3. Open the Android Folder, then data -> net.obsidian.pacg1 -> files
    4. Copy the PACG1_SAVE_GAMES folder to your PC
    5. If you have winrar or other file compression software, compress the file (Right click and "add to PACG1_SAVE_Games.rar" if using winrar)
    6. Send to a cloud storage location such as dropbox and share the link

The saves will help us track down the source of this issue.

You may be able to work around it by clearing the cache for the app or replaying the tutorial, but the only for-certain fix is to reinstall.  Reinstalling will cause you to lose your characters and progression, but difficulty levels will remain unlocked.

For example, if you reinstall and start fresh, you'll have to play Brigandoom before you can play Poison Pill, but you'll be able to play Heroic Brigandoom right off the bat (and if you completed Heroic Brigandoom, Legendary will be available right away).  Quest mode will also be available if it was unlocked.

  21. Game Center name: Corpselocker

For your card issue, you should have the following:

Robe of Energy Resistance (Deck 4 Armor)

    Great Club (Deck B Weapon)

Flask of Magic (Deck 4 Item)

Frost Sling +1 (Deck 1 Weapon)

    Dilettante (Deck B Ally)

Flask of Firestorm (Deck 6 Item)

    x2 Chevalier (Deck 5 Ally)

The game is playable on multiple platforms, but the accounts are platform specific.  There is currently no way to access the features from an iPad account on an Android.
