any time i am in a battle and my charcters kills an enemy they just freez in their place doing nothing untill i say them attack another enemy. how do i make them to auto attack new enemy?

each time any of my characters kills an in enemy in combat, instead attacking the next one they just stand in their place and do nothing until i say theme attack another enemy. how do i make them attack automatly closest enemy?
