  1. Question here. Can you replay a scenario to get the reward bonus? My group of 4 (Valeros, Kyra, Harsk, Ezren) just beat Black Fang's Dungeon to complete Perils of the Lost Coast. The bonus for beating Perils of the Lost Coast was a skill feat for each character. In the process of beating Black Fang's Dungeon Harsk died, therefore he didn't get the scenario reward which was a random item or the skill feat for beating the Adventure. Can I go back and replay Black Fang's Dungeon with the same party of 4 and if I beat it will Harsk receive the skill feat, while the other 3 don't get one? Also, I beat it on normal difficulty. If I went back and beat it again on Heroic will all 4 members of the party receive another skill feat, or can you only get the skill feat once?
  2. I believe they go into your "stash" of available cards. When you open a chest those cards aren't immediately available to you. They go into the available card pile and you are then able to encounter them. You can only encounter cards that are available.
  3. I agree with this as well. I've played the physical card game many times and mostly understand all the rules. There are so many rules and interactions that it's pretty much impossible to know every single one. My group tends to spend a good amount of time asking questions and arguing about what can and cannot be done until we finally just make a decision. In any event, I'm quite well versed in how to play the game and even I have a hard time every now and then following everything with Pathfinder Adventures. While the tutorial does a good job of going over the basics, I fear that a completely new player is going to still be pretty lost after completing the tutorial and might get frustrated and simply delete it. I know I've come across that myself numerous times with board game ports I've downloaded. I play it for a little bit and really have no idea what I"m doing...I might "win" but have no idea why and don't know why I succeeded or failed and then I just get frustrated and quit. I find that to happen much more often when I try complicated games and obviously Pathfinder Adventures is a very complicated game, especially when you're just starting out as a new player. I assume for this game to be financially successful, you're going to need new players rather than only relying on the hardcore players who already know everything about it. All that said, I want to say that you guys did a WONDERFUL job with this game. I think it mimics the physical game very well and there are enough differences and improvements to set it apart. I really hope this is successful because the developers deserve it. I haven't experienced any of the problems that I'm seeing on this board. I downloaded the season pass and everything worked and haven't experienced even one bug. Good luck.
  4. You'll be able to play the game in 2 months. Chill.
  5. I'm almost positive that Perils of the Lost Coast is the name of the tutorial Adventure Deck--Adventure Deck 0 if you will. If I remember right , it isn't necessary to complete that but it's good for new players to get the hang of it. During the tutorial (Perils of the Lost Coast) you're able to upgrade your player and then once you complete it, you move onto Adventure Deck 1 which is called Burnt Offerings. I can only assume that Perils of the Lost Coast aka the tutorial will be released first for free and then Burnt Offerings will be released hopefully at the same time, or shortly after for a fee. Likewise for Adventure 2, 3, etc.
  6. Yup, I see what you're saying. Your second point is exactly what I hope doesn't happen. I would most likely not support this game if that ends up being the case. Freemium is the term I was looking for but couldn't remember. I also agree that your first point would be annoying but definitely not a deal breaker for me. I would much rather just buy the content for a set price rather that something costing 40 stars, or stones or gold or whatever and the only way to buy those things would be like 10 for 99 cents, 100 for $5, 1000 for $20, etc.
  7. I agree completely. Those pay for token games that you describe are just a drain and piss me off to no end. I like games that you buy and are able to play and that's it. And I don't mind at all paying for future content. It's just those games with that stupid pay for play dynamic really irritate me and it seems like 90% of games released today have that dynamic in place because that's what makes the most money. I refuse to even download those games anymore.
  8. Actually now that I think about it a little bit more, as long as this goes how I hope it does, it is a great idea. Assuming they release the "tutorial" which is basically Adventure Deck 0 and consists of 3 scenarios and a few characters and a bunch of low level weapons, armors, spells, etc, for free and then charge for new Adventure Decks and Character decks going forward, I think it'll work great. Like somebody already said, I assume the idea would be to release the tutorial for free in the hopes that people play it, complete it and get hooked and then are willing to pay to continue playing. Kind of like what Big Fish used to do by releasing those Hidden Object games with a small amount of free content and then if you want to continue the story, you need to buy the full game. I don't understand why they stopped doing that, unless they found that people just downloaded it for free, played until they had to pay to keep going and then deleted it and downloaded another game for free. I don't think that would happen with this game because you'd have to keep playing the same short tutorial over and over. So, this could end up being quite profitable for the developers if it's a good game at the start and people get hooked enough to be willing to pay for further content as you'd have to buy a minimum of 6 further Adventure Decks just to complete the game and then certain people would also want to buy character decks and other add-on stuff as well. Say each adventure deck is released at $4.99, which I think would be quite reasonable, each player would be in for $30 just to finish the game. And that's significantly cheaper than the board game. This is obviously a business, so we, as fans of the game, really have to hope that the developers make money, or we're not going to see any more content here.
  9. Along the same lines as the previous post, could you please confirm if this is going to be one of those "pay to play" games? Sorry I don't know if they're actually called somethings else but you know those games where actions cost points or stones or whatever and you replenish those points or stones every 10 minutes or you can pay money to get more stones. Apparently this is being released as a free game and typically that's how those free games work. That's how the developers make money if they don't release the game for an actual price. I completely understand and expect that ongoing adventure decks and character decks and whatnot will cost money but I really hope this game isn't going to be like those games where you have to wait around to replenish your resources before you can do an action or it's practically impossible to progress unless you invest tons of money into it buying better weapons and stuff. I was hoping for the game to be released for a set price. $9.99 or whatever with future adventure decks, character decks, etc being released over time also for a price. Honestly, I'm a little worried about the fact that this game is being released for free. This has been in development for quite some time and I imagine it's been an expensive process. How do the developers plan to make money if the game is free? I really hope this game isn't going to be similar to Modern Warfare, Crime City, Clash of Clans and games like that.
  10. I agree. The lack of communication and updates has definitely been frustrating. I honestly can't wait for this game. I had never been into tabletop games like this, but my buddy convinced me to play Rise of the Runelords. At first I scoffed at it and called him a nerd and the first time I played it I thought it was too complicated and stupid, but by the end of the second round I was hooked. We started playing Rise of the Runelords I believe in July of 2014 and just finished Wrath of the Righteous the day after Christmas 2015, so basically we played pretty much once a week (with some breaks here and there) for a year and a half and finished all 3 tabletop sets, so obviously we all became addicted to this game. We'll definitely play the next one (something about Egypt and mummies) when it's released, but I think I heard that it's been pushed back to maybe even 2017. I think it was in August 2014 when the digital game was announced and it was originally slated for 1st quarter of 2015. I was thrilled with that news because even though I had already come to love the tabletop game, the setup was taxing and it's always difficult to keep track of all the rules, so a digital version was right up my alley. I quickly found this forum and have been checking it religiously since then. I know that delays happen and I would much rather wait (even if it means waiting a year or more) for a proper, bug free game then try to play a game that was rushed and isn't ready, so I don't mind the delays. It has been exceedingly frustrating that we've received little to know updates though. Right on the main page of this forum there's a link to sign up for a newsletter. I signed up and haven't received anything. I didn't even get a confirmation that my signup was received. That's irritating. Next to nothing as far as press releases go. Very few updates here and the updates that we do get are vague. Little to nothing on Obsidian's Facebook page or main website. Paizo has no information either as they've turned over everything to Obsidian. It seems really odd to me that this game is seemingly not important to Obsidian. I know they have Pillars of Eternity to worry about and their other big titles, but it seems like they have like 2 people working on this back in their storage closest or something. If this wasn't an important title for them I wonder why they even bothered to buy the rights and develop the game. If it is an important title in their eyes, then I'm very curious why they're not pushing it. They're certainly not acting like they care about this title at all. All that being said, I guess there's nothing we can do about it, so constantly asking for updates and badgering what few developers there seem to be is counter productive. All we can hope for is that they hit their latest deadline, which, like I said before, would be any time before May 1st in my opinion. I'll definitely be buying it the first day it's released, whenever that is, so at least they can bank on one sale.
  11. What's the point of posts like this? Were you really expecting an announcement on New Years Day? Early next year means just that. Sometime early in 2016. I'd consider anything before April 30th to be early 2016. After that it becomes mid 2016. Just be patient. And seriously these thread bumps and new threads with statements like "I can't wait" or "Where's an update?" Are just silly. Most of us here are patiently waiting for news and since this forum is so slow, when we see a new thread or post we get excited and hope that it's real news. It's very frustrating to open up a new thread hoping for real news only to read a post like this. Sorry, I don't mean to dump on you specifically but it would be nice if this forum had activity that was game related like news or questions or suggestions or speculation rather than just complaining about there being no news or reminding thr developers that their "deadlines" have passed.
  12. I Facebook messaged Obsidian and asked for an update. They responded almost immediately. Below is what they said: Thanks for your patience. We're still hard at work on Pathfinder and it looks great! We have some very exciting announcements regarding the status of the game in the near future. We wont be shipping the game in 2015 but we do have big plans for it in very early 2016. Expect the information dam to burst real soon! Again , thanks for your patience and support. We know the waiting is frustrating. But it will be worth the wait! We promise!
