Great narration. Barbedbeat, are you a writer?
-
I think you'll need to find someone who has read all the books;)
There are already a couple of POE lore vids on youtube. But its still early days. I think the lore will really start to get juicy once POE2 is released!
I couldn't find some dedicated to the lore. Yes, the books are strong point of the lore.
Is some loremaster interested?
-
Would anybody like to make lore videos ? Basically, talk about everything connected to the lore, locations and their opinion on the world, characters etc.
-
Inxile announced that the beta version of the Tides of Numenera will be available to Kickstarter backers on January 17, and will go live on Steam Early Access on January 26.
-
EDIT: @Cyseal: I've never said we would fight a living giant/titan/whatever died there. Just that we would see more "larger than life" things in the future.
I know. I tried to put a witty answer. I would like to see titans in PoE2. But non-human ones. Otherworld titans.

Thoughts on the skeleton?
The seemingly mundane, down to earth setting of Eora, reveals more and more of its fantastical side as the devs get bolder.
I have high hopes for PoE2.
No, way. They wouldn't fit the screen if alive You could just fight with their feet.
-
I approve of this news.
Is that an affirmation or submission?
I think he just gave the greenlight for "The Pillars Hype Train Tyme" to commence.
Does the title "The Pillars Hype Train Tyme" need to be present in fanart ?
-
I voted for PoE2 but right now I would like another DLC after the WM part 2.
-
Should we sign our fanart or without the signature?
-
No idea about the narrator, but presumably those creatures are the eyeless giants that are referenced at the end of The White March Part I.
Than, I'm sure this DLC will reference PoE2 in some way.
First, so there will be more?
Not saying more to that. The good thing about more expansions is that it will give more fun in the late game when all talents are in place and we can enjoy our build fully. Also each expansion gives time to improve basic game, stuff like talents, stronghold, etc.
At first, I thought there will be another unannounced second DLC. :
-
Do we know who are theese creatures and narrator from the trailer?
-
If you come across to the new engine, you will struggle as developer. Do you know how many scripting hours in C# you have to spend to actually have a decend game mechanic ? It's a process for couple of years.
Now they have the engine and their own tools, PoE2 will be another story for the production value and post.
If you come across some complaint about bug or how the game works, just start implementing your game. For example, ask yourself, how could I program that part ?
If you do, you'll see there are tousands of solutions and finding the best one or the optimized one is not an easy task.
Also some of the bugs were caused by Unity 4.5 issues which are now fixed in workflow.

So to me it sounds like he realizes that it's the creative hands on tinkering with individual writing aspects of a game (or novel) that he enjoys the most. And he climbed the ladder too high at Obsidian to be able to continue to do it (and maybe got into a position where, despite being a founder, didn't allow him to force any of his creative ideas, for better or worse). This whole situation might indeed explain why we saw him a lot and joked about him appearing as a living stretch goal. He seems happy with his decision to actually follow that career. I'm eager to see what becomes of his new endeavors
Does he have now some major role in writing for Divinity :OS 2? Will he write some parts of a main quest ?
He will create characters for sure. Can he stand out in Larian to implement his ideas in the game or he must do as the game was planned?
-
I'm all in for PoE2. I'm also all in for a Baldur's Gate 3. I believe Obsidian can do it.
Obsidian can only do spiritual succesor of BG3 which PoE is in some way. I think that buying the licence from EA and Bioware is not a wise bussines choice.
Furthermore, money deal for that licence is huge but not sure how much.
It's far better to develop and improve Pillars of Eternity, their own IP and create similar.

For PoE2 I wish it would have more magical environments like in Torment Tides of Numenera and that would overall feel more otherworld.

-
Same here; and I already *only* buy games from GoG or through Humble Bundle.
- Torment: Tides of Numenera
- Bard's Tale VI
I think Inxile developers have some rules not to release the 2 games in a year. But I could be wrong.
-
I'll jump with you.
- Divinity Original Sin 2
- Witcher 3 Blood and Vine
- --> Dark souls 3 <--
- Quantum Break
- Siege of Dragonspear
- Doom
- Mass Effect: Andromeda 2017???

There won't be any similar game mechanics like Bed of chaos. Fromsoft confirmed that. I think that the next boss phase after the fall is in the abyss.
-
Well, Bed of chaos is one of the most unique bosses ever. Altough, I have headscratches every time I get there.
But, the boss from footage is also a ancient tree, almost like an ent.
Bed of chaos is actually a witch inside the tree,so this DS3 boss reminded me pf it because of a witch-like hand appearing in the end.
-
This boss reminds me on Bed of chaos.
-
I think CP3 won't come out this year even it's says so in release date.
Btw, how do you like the game comparing it to PoE?
-
In what way crazy?
Story, environments, characters ?
Probably story and setting. Maybe the scale of whatever threat is coming the way of the White March, as he compared it to the relatively low stakes of part 1.
Great! Will WM p2 be integrated in main story or will it be separated world with own world map?
-
Sawyer implied that part 2 of the White March might get a little bit on the crazy side, so I'm curious to see that happen.
Although I guess that simply focusing a little bit more on the Vithrak might be enough to fulfill the "crazy" part.
In what way crazy?
Story, environments, characters ?

Max von Sydow has probably most inefficient role. We don't know anything about him before.
Saw it, thought it was a mediocre transplant of A New Hope with most changes being for the worse and heavy handed mary suing and shipping.
Will watch the next one for Rian Johnson though.I watched Looper, the film of his and he's quite story teller and has well shot scenes. I wish he brings core sci-fi elements in SW not just mainstream.

The same here. Barbedbeat, your writing provides rich visualization of words. I like that in prose.
