  1. Oh my...thats something I really will be avoiding. Imagine the " white, male " hating that will be occurring

And its not that I don't think harassment isn't  a problem  in some places on the Internet its just I'm so tired of the pointlessness of these types of events. What possible new outcome will we get from this....." okay guys lets not be sexist/racist/homophobic"  ...its not nice ?

I wonder what Wu will be saying?

Here's hoping GG panelists would have something interesting to say. Depending on how ballsie they are, it can be really interesting.

  2. Out-of-the-blue question only because I saw this thread at the top of the forum:

Anybody have experience running this game on a machine that precisely matches the minimum specs for CPU & GPU?

I'm probably still going to hold off until I get around to an upgrade sometime next year, but I could be tempted into jumping in before then were I convinced that it would run smoothly on the rig I've got.

I have I7 2700k and 570 and i can run it at 30 fps on medium settings, though with most fancy effects turned off obviously. Of course it's no guarantee that it will run on your machine, but chances are it will. :)

  3. I haven't read the gentlemans book nor anything to do with the controversy surrounding it, though a lot probably stems from the clickbait inflammatory title, but i'm going to go out on a limb and guess that Mr Owen wants games to be: More "filmic," shorter, streamlined, dumbed down and accessible, and that therefore of course he should not have to learn how to play the game because he should simply be catered to, never challenged or in any way impeded. After all no other games force you to learn the rules and play by them, we all know that Chess and Poker are sit down and play passtimes.

TB made a video about it. It would seem the at least some part of that book is not that bad. And i kind of agree with it as is TB. :)

  4. I'm reading it as "We weren't serving the public good or pushing a political agenda, so we weren't doing journalism."

A bit of wonky wordsmithing on his part if that wasn't his intention.

Oh, i read it wrong, my apologies. :) Though i do still feel it's a bit of a stretch to say that he "defines" journalism as pushing a political agenda. There's more than enough that's already there, no need to ascribe him something that he didn't necessarily say.

  5. The harassment since these articles has been vile.  And since we're talking about ethical journalism, by not going that extra step to work with police to determine that something did/didn't happen I think the articles have been irresponsible IMO and encouraged the threats and harrassment.  YMMV.

I would say they are more than simply irresponsible. Milo knows exactly what he's doing, and this whole situation is not really about pedophilia, Nyberg, or her alleged victims. It's about outrage and clicks, pure and simple. And maybe a bit of politics.

  6. This entire srhbutts drama is leaving an incredibly sour taste in my mouth. From both sides.

And now a child is being used as a weapon. There aren't any winners in this whole mess... Only losers.

GG and aGG appear more and more like different sides of the same coin in this.

More or less. I would say with GG maybe 20, 30% tops are actually good people, who genuinely care about the issues they say they care. But the rest are there simply to fight who they see as their enemies. Everything else is basically irrelevant.

  7. To be honest, I don't think CD Project Red needs Chris.

I've actually cared for some of the stories in The Witcher 3, they have managed to frighten me by setting the mood just using dialogue, they've managed to make pixels on a screen sexy and they've made me laugh out loud from surprise when their understated humour has been more clever than I expected from a video game.

Bethesda on the other hand.. I feel they have the skills to make really cool video games technically, but.. An experienced writer would certainly help them.

Oh no CDPR knows how to create great stories, that's for sure. But with Chris they probably would be even better. :)

  8. Not really surprising, considoring the rumors about his disagreements with Josh and all that. In any case, all the best wherever his path takes him. Hopefully we'll see more awesome writing from him. His companions were my favorite in PoE. :)
