  1. I wouldnt know sorry someoen who know should stumble upon this maybe
  2. That could work if I get you right. So what you mean is for example: You have just been in a battle then after there is a countdown. Say 10 minutes, in those 10 minutes if you speak to someone the choices of speech which you have would be different because you had just been in a fight. Also say if you had just lost someone close to you, you would be upset and frustrated therefore when you talked to someone you would have different options of things to say. Maybe even after battles your walk and movement is different. And so on. I might have misinterpretted what you said but i thnk I was right. That may work. But there are a lot of different ways in which this could be gone at. There are many ideas of different systems what could be put inplace to do what you have been discsussing. If it happens it would give games a lot more depth and the player would feel more immersed. Keep it going I want to see more ideas, now.
  3. Yes I know what you mean but I have tried getting 3ds max 7 from "the other sources" and there is a slight problem. I require a serial number and I appear to have "lost" mine. Also a "legit" program to make a random serial code appears not to work. Damn all this. I hate copyright laws. I shall have to sneak into discreet HQ like a ninja  and "obtain" a copy of there software.
  4. Ok now, I have a question. Hopefully someone who know a lot about game companies or a moderator or developer or someone like that might come along. If for example someone ( me ) went to college and got a HND ( Higher National Diploma ) in a course like animation or 3d modelling etc. Then I toddled off to university for 3 years after that, and got a degree in animation or 3d modelling etc. Then I would have had 5 years studying one of those areas. Then when I was trying to get a job am I more likley to be picked up by a big company like Obsidian. Or would I most likley be working for a smaller company. In other words, after I have finished both college and university. Would I still need to get some experience working before I could possibly work for companies such as Lucasarts, Bungie, Obsidian etc. And if that is true then how long...
  5. I have a question. Software. Software such as Discreet's 3ds max 7, or maya 6 or whatever. I know you can get trials, but 30 days goes pretty quick. People like me who want to go into a career involving making games but before they do would like to have a play with some programs, but can't because of the huge price tags. $3000, $7000, whatever. I would like to be able to get my hands on some software ( 3d modelling ), like the software used to build worlds in games. Does any one know of some software what I could have a mess around with which is either 1) Not to expensive or 2) Free. I know free software won't be any good, but its still something. I would then be able to learn my self to use this software and get a little head start before I go to college. Also does anyone know what type of software colleges and universitys use. I know no one knows what type I mean, I meant would they be more likley to use really expensive software or really crappy software.
  6. Yes, everything you said is right, and I did know some of that already. Oh and thanx for all the advice you have been helpful. Yes I am going to college this september then I will be going to university after. From there I will keep working my way up. And work for gaming companies, then later on in life I hope to start up my own company. So in the future remember the name Joe Kelk. Because I swear I screwed up school and I am not going to screw this up. So in the future I hope to see my name on the credits of games. Thanx again for all the advise aoh yeh and please repply. So would you say just keep expanding on my ideas and keep designing and keep them safe till the future, because even thuogh I am young I think this idea would bring in big bucks for lucasarts. I have level designs, for every area and I am working on a completre story line with everything from start to finish. Only 15 pages as of yet thuogh. Anywayz please reply as you have been a help cheers. :D
  7. I am 16 years old and an extremley interested in computer games and making them. I am going to college to study Animation and 3d modelling, then hopefully going to university. Now I have a question. I have been designing a game on paper for a few months. I have some quite good ideas in the design and I have loads more which I plan to put into the design. Now on other forums people have told me that if I plan to make this game pulbically available then I will need approval from lucasarts. I have 2 ideas one is for me and a team to make the game and only the people who made the game have a copy of it, and not to sell it or make it available to otheres. This way I have been told that I will not need approval by Lucasarts. Or I could get a team together and make the game and get approval from lucasarts then market it and whatever. Only thing is a few problems 1. what would be the best idea get approval from lucasarts, or make it just for the people who made the game. 2. I need a team of people who are foing to help me on this, who I can trust prefferably people who live near me or in england, so we can meet up and stuff. 3. I am finding very hard to get a team someone please help me. I have no skill in making computer games at the moment, althuogh I have been experimenting with software such as 3ds max 7. Although I have a head bulging with ideas and am not too bad with a pencil and paper. Please reply thanks Kelky If you have got msn address then reply and maybe we can swap addresses and use msn chat. Thankx again
