  1. Thank. I'll do that.
  2. I'd like to know if there are better versions of the following mods, restorations that are more all in ones of restorations than the ones I have, and if these will work with each other and not overwrite or conflict with each other. Also, the Peragus Harbinger issues mod I remember one of TE's mods ended with a tslpatcher for one of their mods that would make 3 or so errors after installing and I just want to make sure that Peragus Harbinger mod doesn't do that. Here's the restorations I have: M4-78 M4-78 add on 1.1, 1.1a patch, and version 2.0 movies GO-TO's Yacht GO-TO's Yacht Restoration and 1.1 patch Tienn Dialog Restored Kreia's Arival Restoration Prolog Peragus Harbinger Issues TSL Un Restored Content tsl un restored content, 2.0, and 2.3 patch Pleas also let me know if I don't need an older version for example if the urc I don't need the original and just need the 2.0 and 2.3 for example. Of coruse given that it doesn't have errors caused by its tsl patcher installer. Thanks.
  3. Ah I see. Thank you very much. For the graphics card so I can prepare for the future of getting the driver updaes ca you please give me a link to the drivers page of that card? Also, when there is a new driver update will I always have to uninstall hte prior driver, run driver sweeper in safe mode, and install the new driver? Or just update and not uninstall the prevous driver?
  4. Thank you. As for the SLI Motherboard, what was complicated abotthat? I don't remember what SLI was?
  5. Like this?: Monitor: SVA 2400w 24" 1920x1200 LCD Power Supply: ENERMAX MODU82+ EMD525AWT 525W ATX12V Ver.2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Processor: Intel Core Duo E 8400(or something in the 8 series) Motherboard: eVGA LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 750i SLI RAM: 2x2 GB Corsair 800MHz Graphics Card: NVIDA eVGA GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 Superclocked Edition 896MB DDR3 Hard Drive: Spinpoint F1 1TB (1000 GB) Drives: Samsung DVD/CD Drive and Flash Drive Case: Antec Sonata III O/S: Windows XP Pro (32 Bit) SLI though remember we thought was kinda well complicated in that I told you I know little about hardware. Being visually impared that is why I am getting a tech of mine to assemble it. You also said NVIDA or something that will be compatible with the rest of it. It doesn't have to be NVIDA. But a motherboard that will work well and be compatible with the rest of this. I've taken the lits of what you said I should combine and combined them. I hope this is a good setup. Again I don't know thatyou guys do.
  6. Well where is the recommendation list. I was showing you my list on what I added to it from things I saw throughtout the thread that were recommendations that were by concensus.
  7. Uh Hello? Respond to my last message.
  8. So what specs and links to specs do I still need? For example I know I still need the case. Now that I've told Quiverur that I'm simply wanting to get the specs and links to specs together so that when I'm ready to buy I can. And afer doing so get the independent tech to put it together. Now he's tahnkfully not going to rush me. Yes I'kl stick with your plan. However, to help in case it might help with our final build I thought I'd give you his specs as well: Monitor: SVA 2400w 24" 1920x1200 LCD Monitor, $259.99, $246.99 after Live Search Cash Back. I'm sure you've never heard of the brand, and it's very likely that neither has anyone else (it's actually Sylvania), and you're probably wondering why I'm recommending it. Well, it's because this monitor is the least expensive 24" 8-bit VA (as in PVA or MVA) panel that I know of, as opposed to the other 24" monitors in this price range that are all 6-bit TN panels. A 24" Dell monitor with this type of panel would be at least double the price. What's the difference between an 8-bit VA panel and a 6-bit TN? The VA has far better color representation and a much wider viewing angle so that the image doesn't wash out when you're looking at the monitor from any angle other than straight on. Motherboard: ASUS P5Q PRO CPU: Intel E8400 Memory: We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. As long as your motherboard supports it you've got nothing to worry about. Hard Drive: Western Digital WD6400AAKS 640GB CD/DVD Writer: I can't really make an educated recommendation here. I've always used LiteOn, myself. Video card: Nvidia GTX260 Core216 -The best deals around are on these right now, and contrary to what I said above, they are worth the extra cost over the base GTX260 because they're only about $25-$30 more. Of course, this is subject to change at any time. Power Supply: Once again, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. It should have ~40 amps on the +12v rail. I prefer those with long warranties of 5 years or more. Monitor: See my above post. Case: The only recommendation I can make here is not to go overboard. You can get a very decent one for $50-$60. Peripherals like keyboard, mouse and speakers: You can't go wrong with Logitech. Depending on the deals available when you're ready to buy, all of this should come to around the same price as the Dell system and components listed above, give or take $100.00. Expect to spend around $1000.00 for all of it, including a copy of Windows XP.
  9. I know I won't be doing the I7 since you suggested I shouldn't. Here's the current specs we've got to this point guys: Power Supply: It should deliver about 500 watts of power and be of a trustworthy brand (such as Enermax, BeQuiet, Corsair ,or Seasonic. Monitor: Samsung T220 22 or 24in wide wide Processor: Intel Core Duo E 8400(or something in the 8 series) Hard Drive: Spinpoint F1 1TB (1000 GB) RAM: 2x2 GB Corsair 800MHz RAM Graphics Card: NVIDA eVGA GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 Superclocked Edition 896MB DDR3 Drives: Samsung DVD/CD Drive and Flash Drive O/S: Windows XP Pro 32 Bit Motherboard: Intel P43 or P45 The links I have: Processor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819115037 Hard Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16822152102 RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820145184 Graphics Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814130400 What other specs and links to specs do I need? Please provide them. Finally, the guys on LF forums have offered up some suggestions to this. I just wanted to show you their suggestion post and see what you think of the lang paragraph they gave. Ignore the first thing he quoted on about the graphics card. I know and agree with you guys that it wouldn't be good to do a I7 processor. As for the rest he seems to want to rush me into signing up on this newegg because he's going to start throwing offeres at me. I simply for this whole specs getting wanted to get a computer plan together so that when I and the family have time to get a new computer that we'd be able to then. Right now I'm sure we all are preparing for Thanksgiving. Plus with us we are doing other home projects and even thinking about redoing the kitchen soon. So there are other priorities before this. But I simply wanted to have this al down spec and link spec wise so that we'd be able to persue this when we were ready. The great thing is my family will have their computer. They know a guy from Chruch that where he works at his business they get in computers that they have that are used. They wipe them, refurbish them, and then send them out to those who want them. The comptuers are about 3yr old ones usually. So they are set. As for me this computer that you guys are helping to design is for me. This way they get their computer and I get mine. This way they'll no longer have to bump me off my computer to do their stuff because we'll both have our own computers. Here's the suggestin link of LF. What do you think does it change any of the plan, or should I stick with this plan that you guys have made. By the way I am leaning more towards you guy's spec list anyway. I jsut wanted your thoughts on this link: http://www.lucasforums.com/showpost.php?p=...mp;postcount=24
  10. I understand that that is the order and stuff. But, since you guys gave your recommendations, and since we were all working towards a final build of the entire specs I showed what I have. And then I asked what's left to add to the final specs that I do not have yet. So I was asking for the final specs of what I need to add to the list. I showed what I have as far as newegg and specs I have so far. And then I said off the top of my head the last things I need are the case and a couple other things. I mean we came up with most of it. Processor, RAM, Graphics card, O/S, drives, monitor, and I think that's all of it. Finally, I was asking them what's left with concern to the LF forums suggestion and well look at my two posts before my last one. In otherwords look past this post and the one before and look at the two before that. So yes I understand your supposed to start with this and that, but they've got most of the specs its jsut were down to the final stuff. I'm still waiting for their response.
  11. Thank you very much. So in reference to my last two posts, what's left linkwise and spec wise for the new computer? I know for one I don't have the specs for the case. Also, what is your response to my last post regarding the suggestion from LF and their pushing me to get registered on newegg and such. What shuld be my response to them. Like I said I'm not sure what to respond to him with. I don't want t柸o come off as rude. But I'd like for him to understand, we do have ohter projects we are doing home wise before we get to this. They''ll get their refurbished computer, and I'll get the new computer you guys are designing spec wise. Thanks for that.
  12. I really wish these posts had an edit post feature. Anywya, I just got this suggestion as well I got from LF: http://www.lucasforums.com/showpost.php?p=...mp;postcount=24 I'd not want to be so rushed. Right now it's soon to be Thanksgiving, and I'm just trying to get this whole specs and plan together so that when I and the family get around to spending the budget we have for a computer that I can do it. It almost seems like this guy wants me to sign up and do it now because he's going to start throwing deals at me. Like I said your plan seems great. It's just I thought I'd show you his response and see if that does anything towards the current decision. I'm not sure what to say to this guy. I don't want to be rude and say dude don't rush me. I want to be able to have like I said a future computer plan so that when we get done with other projects we are doing like buying better curtens, redoing the kitchen, things like that when we get around to the computer we'll already have a list of specs. Thing is I'll have my computer which will be this one. And the family will have theirs for their pictures, e-mail/internet, bill paying, etc. They'll get theirs from this one fella they know from church that gets in these computers at where he works. They take in these used computers, wipe them, refurbish them, and give them out to those that want them. The computers are usually about 3yr old. Still great for them. And I get my awsome computer thanks to you guys. The best part they won't be bumping me off my computer to use it. They'll have theirs and I'll have mine.
  13. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the last thing to decide on now would be the case right? This is what I now have: Power Supply: It should deliver about 500 watts of power and be of a trustworthy brand (such as Enermax, BeQuiet, Corsair ,or Seasonic. Monitor: Samsung T220 22 or 24in wide wide Processor: Intel Core Duo E 8400(or something in the 8 series) RAM: 4GB Hard Drive: Spinpoint F1 1TB (1000 GB) Flash Drive Sticks: 2x2 GB Corsair 800MHz RAM Graphics Card: NVIDA eVGA GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 Superclocked Edition 896MB DDR3 Drives: Samsung DVD/CD Drive and Flash Drive O/S: Windows XP Pro 32 Bit Motherboard: Intel P43 or P45 The links you guys have agreed on are: Processor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819115037 Hard Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16822152102 RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820145184 Graphics Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814130400 What items and links are left for me to grab to add to the links and specs list? Great job guys. Thank you.
  14. Let's recap what we have so far at this point: Monitor: Samsung 2220WM 22in wide wide Processor: Intel Core Duo E 8400(or something in the 8 series) 4GB RAM 9800GTX+ graphic Card Hard Drive: Spinpoint F1 1TB (1000 GB) 2x2 GB Corsair 800MHz RAM NVIDA eVGA GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 Superclocked Edition 896MB DDR3 Samsung DVD/CD Drive and Flash Drive Windows XP Pro 32 Bit NVIDA Motherboard Yeah I might be able to get the independent tech I know to assemble it. After all, he did for this computer put in the nwe hard drive he cloned into a 23GB, he doubled the RAM to 1GB, and he was the one who put in the ATI card. So what's left to pick for the specs? Quiverur from Lucasforums saw this thread he said and he offered this suggestion for the graphics card. I think the one you guys have agreed on is great, but what are your thoughts on this though: ATI corei7 crossfire 4870X2 Finally, I'll add those links you guys gave to the plan for this. Thanks. We're getting there. I guess by the end of this I'll owe you guys. lol. Well let's see. I do have some pcgamemods for k1-2.
  15. What was the monitor and hard drive specs that the consensus is on? Also is this the graphics card you said you now agree on: eVGA GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 Superclocked Edition 896MB DDR3? Also, the flash drive I mean a thing where you put thumb drives into it. Those little sticks that you fit into the little slot for it. They are these flat rectangle sticks that can hold information on it. I currently have a 3GB one. I use to use zip discs which only held MBs now I use these thumb drive sticks. I guess it can get confusing when people call a thumb drive also a flash drive, and call it a memory sticks. But yeah what I mean by flash drive sticks are these items that are storage mediums that you can fit into your pocket and can even fit on a key chain. Those are what I'm talking about.
  16. What is 500W, discret cases, and when I look at my monitor from the side yeah it does fade out so I don't see it from side to side. So I guess that's what I like. So that would be your suggestion which was? Also, the memory sticks thing was that the kind of flash drive or are those recommendations for the flash drive sticks to use in a flash drive? And to make sure we do have a concensus on the RAM right. 3GB for XP and 4 for Vista. For XP should I do a 32 or 64 bit XP? I heard something though that older games have some difficulty on a 64 bit XP, but I simply heard that on komando.com's radio show. But if not what's your opinion on that?
  17. Guys I thought you said SLI was a little too complicated for someone like me who is scared of messing up a ivdeo card with the drivers like I did with the old 1999 computer. But yes my plan is to be able to have a computer that plays K-2, EaW/FoC, and Starcraft. And guys this is very technical stuff. I don't know all tha much about all these cards and this techno langauge for this item or that. Plus with all the different suggestions of specs for me do do is overwhelming. I know little about tis stuff. I just want to be able to have a new computer that can play K1-2, EaW/FoC, and Starcraft 2 and to be able to strike a balance with all of those. I understand for Starcraft 2 they've yet to release the specs for that I just want to make sure I can be able to play Starcraft 2 and also these older games. But guys I know little about this stuff. I'm not sure if or what never cards are too new to play KOTOR and what ones are too old to play Starcraft 2. You guys seem to know. The names of these specs I know little about the jargen. I would like you guys to come to a concensus please because all these different ideas I don't know what to choose becaue I don't know a heck of a lot about it as you guys do. I when I was really young I had an old 486, then a Pentium 2 Win 98, and now this XP Pro P4. So I've obvously know less than you guys. So please let's come to a concensus. As for th sound card stuff I'll just trust you guys know it will be good sound in whatever part it is produced from. Why is Dell not good for coming up with a 21inch monitor? And to others, its not that I'm trying to spend 1500. It's that that's the max I'm wiling to spend. Meaning 1500 is the limit. Anything less than 1500 would be great or that. I'm jut giving you guys what my limit would be. Don't get me wrong I do appreciate the suggestions I just don't know what all of the specs and stuff mean. lol.
  18. Don't the specs I made in my last post reflect planning for the future in that those are newer devices(more top of line)? Also, why have multiple hard drives that big? I never knew you should have 3GB RAM on XP. I only have 1GB. lol. Does it matter if I got with Home or Pro? I currently have Pro. As for monitors I'd like to do a 21inch. Would you happen to know, what flat panels are best against glare? Do you think Dell will be enclined to when building the computer, to put XP in even though its a past OS?
  19. Sorry for the double post, but I saw a few posts earlier I didn't see before. So I have modified my specs I liked from what I heard: Processor: Intel Core Duo E 8400(or something in the 8 series) 3 GB RAM Nvidia 9500GT PCIE graphic Card Good Hard Drive(i.e Coolermaster Elite Tower with an extra fan) Pioneer DVD Burner Flash Drive Gigabyte M-61 Motherboard XP Pro(till Vista gets fixed) So the sound can come from the CPU and graphics card. Never knew that. My computer has a base box thing. It can make a little boom with the sound when I was able to play EaW. It really leped to add to the experience. Is this something that these computers just come with? Base amplifier I think is what it is. Anyway, will the mentioned graphics card in this specs in this post also run Starcraft 2? I know it will run K1-2, and EaW/Foc because you guys play those. Other than that, the monitor should be a flat panel and I currently have a 19 inch. I would like a 21 inch. Do different types of flat panels matter? Or are they all good with filtering glare? Like I said 1500 is the max limit to spend. Meaning I'd like not to spend more than 1500.
  20. So far we've come up with: Processor: Intel Core Duo E 8400(or something in the 8 series) 3 GB RAM I have no idea what you said with regard to the other stuff you wrote. lol. But yeah the flash drive I use for storing mods, files, info like passwords, etc. It's just a storage medium. They are so cool. I never knew you could use them to store so much.I thought zip drives held a lot, but wow these flash drives I guess are the future of storange that is mobile right? Wow they rock. But for Starcraft 2 you saying that is really high end and the card you recommended, which one was the not very high end one. There were two you were speaking of. You said though it was not the really high end one that it still was ages better than my current card. And, is this really high end card the other one, what I would need to play Starcraft 2?
  21. Let me make sure I got this straight. Your not recommending I get the SLI due to the fact yes I am worried about messing something up. But what your saying is SLI would be the way to go to play Starcraft 2, and EaW/FoC, and K1-2 on the same computer? Well that's good that the card your speaking of is ages better than mine. Yes I can hear you. I don't have you on any ignore list. lol. It can get a little technical, and I simply like to be able to when I call up Dell and tell them to build something I[d like to be able to say okay here's what I want the computer to be, this this, da da, and also have this. The flash drive is for the fact I use flash drives and cd-rw discs to store mods, programs, info, and other stuff.
  22. Is that card you have graphics wise better than an ATI 9550? Yeah I hate ATI now. I never had these problems, even with my old NVIDA GeForce MX 420. lol. The ATI card was what I was given by the tech to replace the old NVIDA. He didn't know, and I didn't know at the time that K1-2 work better with NVIDAs. So this SLI is something that will allow me to have two cards, and allow me to play Starcraft 2, and my older K1-2, and Eaw/FoC on the same computer? Wow. Cool. Of course though, when I get it, I'll need some directions, or something to help me to know what I'm doing directions wise with the drivers. Since this sounds like it might be complicated having two video cards. I'm not even sure how that would work. lol. But yeah since I told you I have one eye, other is prosthetic, I don't need it to be high resolution. I usually play on 800x 600 resolution since that's the biggest you can do on these cards. And with my Zoomtext it when you update a driver it tells you it needs to disable secondary display settings to use primary and use the zoomtext. Hey it worked on this computer. I'm sure it will hre. Secondary I believe is the computer's HD capability. Okay, so at this point we have down a Intel Core Duo, flash drive, dved/cd drive, and all your specs sound great. But from what I can tell you guys are saying the RAM, processor, and hard drive space don't matter as much to run K1-2, but the video card and OS are what matters right?
  23. Well I'm asking you guys because this is the forum of the makers of a game that has made by them. So they would know what is compatible and works well with their game. Okay maybe an intel core duo. I was told to run EaW well it should be an Intel Core 2 Duo E6750. It should be able to have an dvd/cd drive, and Flash Drive. I'd like to play K1-2, and EaW, but if Starcraft 2 would be too new for it, what would you suggest I do? Will starcraft 2 be on a console or something?
  24. Darth_Windu is that a NVIDA card? Also, you said its good on performance, but not on graphics. Will it still allow for the max graphic options in K1-2? What's the sound card is it good? I do have EaW/FoC will they work on it? Is that AMD Processor better than a Pentium 4? Because sometimes in EaW when you get up to a high capacity level of units you build in hte galaxy map it gets sluggish on my computer. I was told it was because I have a P4 processor and that I should have better for it to not be so slow. In the future when it comes out I wil also want to put Starcraft 2 on a pc to play it. Wil this computer allow for it or wil that mean a different card? See how it can be a compatibility issue. Because a newer card that runs Starcraft 2, but too new to play K1-2 right? See I'm trying to seek that balance if I can.
