  1. It's funny but as things go GTA or any other big city game get off easy. For example i live in a big city and despite all the things that happen everyday my existence is strangely unaffected, hell i haven't even felt the economical crisis, or anyone i know. On the other hand the small isolated communities developers love so much look painfully artificial because C&C is vital there. Usually we get something like "Thank you sir for freeing us of slavery, curing us of ebola and helping us stage the easter play. BTW now you can buy more military grade gear from our shop." We never see psychological implications, reevaluations of ones goals, love, hate, not to even mention the more subtle ones unless they affect the PC. Take Dead Space for example, great mechanics, level design, mood, sound etc. Then look at the big trio arriving on Ishimura. Sure we've all seen enough bad movies to just go with it but seriously, wtf, who doesn't break down in a space graveyard full of thousands of little spawns from hell... and a few of it's lieutenants. Well a marine ofc, because he is bad and efficient, a comm officer because her double life gives her focus and an engineer because he needs to save the woman that picked her job over him. Now sure i can shut the brain down and "tactically dismember" everything, i can even enjoy it but realism, immersion, C&C, nah. The reason i mentioned dead space is because it was highly acclaimed and had a very small number of characters, if they can't even get that right and yet everyone turns a blind eye and hypes it i wouldn't hold my breath for the future. Loved dead space btw.
  2. From my point of view all movies should be allowed a highly improbable, bordering ironic premise. Just look at it as choosing the more interesting premises as a start for your movie from the million scenarios that happen everyday in the world. The threat depicted in the movie is real and no it doesn't matter that she was rich as someone said, they just needed more meat. Him taking on an army is also quite reasonable, he is a highly trained government serial killer while the members of those organizations typically are not. Not only they have no combat expertise whatsoever but the requirements of joining are usually as simple as being just another compatriot. They are not dangerous because they know kung fu, they are dangerous because they have no problem with killing. The only thing i would have grips with are his motives for going on a killing spree just because he can, and thankfully this movie actually gives a plausible reason. It doesn't matter who agrees with it, fact is there is nothing we would not do for our children if it was in our power, especially for a poor sob like him that lost her before he even "had" her so to speak. That being said i didn't much like the movie, it just didn't click for me. I liked the new take on some old lines though, some funny stuff. I guess watching Oldboy spoiled me for this type of movies.... whish i'd never seen it. :D
  3. yea Sihilus and Nion <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nihilus and sion you mean <{POST_SNAPBACK}> you are slow aren't you
  4. it never ceases to surprise me sow some people ca miss the point
  5. Oh , it just highlights one of the major differences between real life and game life thats all. Your point was that in real life you can manipulate people into your way of thinking right? Well you can do that in the game too. So just what are you complaining about? What exactly do you expect from the influence system ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> how can you not get it??????? in real life i can lie to them, i don't have to mean everything i say. I can be a child-molesting priest (no offense to priests or child-molesters)
  6. the point Kreya is the betrayer the deceiver and so forth what yous saw doesn't have to be so
  7. You were aware that you could open up the conversations through negative influenve I take it? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> for the love of me i can't understand whi you pple always jump in extremes ..one chance in life at romance. WHAT IN GOD"S NAME does that have to do with anything. If i were in a turkish prison right now i'd be happy to be still able to count my teeth but seeing as i'm not...... and seeing as that is just a game i was simply talking of balancing things and creating a certain level of immersion. NOT ensuring the continuation of my genes
  8. they could have started it to cure cancer for all the difference it does now
  9. loooool.......... that was rich the point is not for them to be stupid but for you to be smarter than them
  10. it saddenes me how we all write without saying nothing, how we miss the point because is easier that way, how we come to hate someting simply because someone else loves it lol i'm kidding of course but think about it
  11. Well you can look at it two ways. 1. You tell people what they want to hear. It's suprisingly similiar in real life ya know. Tell people what they want to hear and they open up to you. It may require that you put aside your own beliefs but it works. 2. You agree with people because that is how you feel, people who are friends usually agree on a wide range of things. Rarely will you be buddies with someone who has a totally opposite world view than you do. There are a couple of places you can use pursuade, but that will lose you influence since most of the characters are too smart to fall for that. So in effect you are critisising the system for mirroring real life too closely, which I find rather funny. The only thing missing in the game is you cant buy influence with gifts <{POST_SNAPBACK}> you would be surprised. In real life if you really know what you are doing, go opposite of what they belive and still convince them. you own them. roughly put
  12. yea Sihilus and Nion
  13. ................to Althernai now that is an informed oppinion although... with me you just gained influence with others... i hope you persuaded them But, if we would love only perfection, We would be lonely indeed So go kotor #
  14. allthough crudely developed i find the ideas behind them quite striking you are not bound to forghet them easily i wouldn't mind eaven playing as sion you know heal an repent or break the galaxy in your image that beeing said i REALLY hope we meet again, so to speak seeing as how Traya is the betrayer, and quite a manipulative *****, you could easely consider they're "deaths" simply another test. Or at least i hope someone DOES, cause they were quite the "be careful what you wish for" villains. by the way about Traya now that is a true sith lord. My respects i was becoming somewhat bored with the simple-minded, war-mongering, "I crush you" type. Death is not defeat Submission is
  15. not all things apply for everyone i like roleplaying i liked beeing revan on the other hand a new weapon in counterstrike leaves me totally indifferent my favorite colors are blue and black, although they obviously have no merit over others, they simply are. not all things are right or wrong it is a matter of taste ...much like HK-47 :D
  16. If HK-47 doesn't bore you I seriously wonder if you've met real people. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> hmm... i fail to see how that applies nicely put though
  17. Hmm... I'm afraid i'm being missunderstood. This is and the first kotor are the only games that left me feeling like i wanted more. I mean i eaven got bored in the middle of half-life and abandoned it. I never eaven red forums before, let alone post. That-s how mutch i like them. But the first kotor had pride and awe building moments, like becoming a jedi on dantooine, like realizing YOU ARE REVAN, i mean how cool is that. This one had influence, and i like that, for me is a breakthrough, and if i didn;t appreciate it i wouldn't have bothered with this post. However a great idea is not enough, you have to make it work, to find balance at least. When you take something with so much potential, implement it only half way, and use it to coerce people into playing the game again it's just sad. (imagine if at key moments, choices in the game certain party members left or turned on you if you didn't corrupt or enlighten them by that point, and by the end you would stand alone) As for just ignoring it. I can't, i don't play the game because i'm a Star Wars fan, but because it's a great rpg. As for HK 47 i personally find unnatural the fact that i can change his allignment by example. HE IS A DROID. I would rather do it with a screwdriver and an interface. But i gues some don't, and that's that.
  18. he's submissive? and a droid who LIKES to kill and torture doesn't have personality? i gues we really do think differently
  19. Influence... The most stupidly annoying and desirable shiny coin in this game. WHY, WHY, why in all that is sacred on this earth do i have to cuddle and protect a Visas who has hit dark mastery to gain some lousy influence an an LS on top of that. I would think in my inocence that once she (or anyone else for that matter) attained the desirable state of enlightenement called dark mastery she would come to admire some healthy verbal 'impunities' , but noooooo, i have to hold her hand, brush her hair and make it all better. influence totally destroys my mastery be it light or dark, and it does it in a most cretine way. And in case that is the point, well... some one else is the idiot for not thinking of a better way to balance things how can a light and fuzzy Hanhaar eagerly count the secconds between random murders?????? IT ANNOYS ME
  20. Peace! :D But seriously, I think there's something wrong with HK-47. In the original KotOR, he already was a lousy shot, a mediocre translator, and a terrible comedian ... and now, in KotOR II, he still reiterates the same joke over and over again. Okay, he shoots better ... but he talks even more ... and while he talks I get drowsy ... and I can already tell that the final pun line will be something about 'atomizing meatbags' ... once more. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> looooooooooooool... no offense but if HK 47 bores you i seriously wonder how you can possibly stand real people i mean i expected people to say he's too violent, too "driven", maybe eaven too..... red. But BORING CHRIST do oppinions differ or what???
  21. Yes. But only in the way a man can love a robot hmm... considering the cost of one of those i would probably love him more then my liver
  22. yes i do, and pretty much by his definition but still love is love (and even if by some freak chance you're gonna hold my nick against me, don't) HE IS GREAT, not quite as great as in kotor 1 but still... hmm... let me put it like this if the next kotor is all about him i'll buy it, if hte next two kotors are just about him i'll buy them, if the next three kotors are called All About HK 47 i'll buy them, if... well, i'm probably exagerating, but how much i wonder? i love that big, red, backstabing, homicidal, egomaniac. That beeing said. DO YOU? I would really like to read his memoires
  23. MANY... Most of all Gaetano Vega it has a certain melody...read right that is oh yea, and Torquemada, nice fellow fit for a DS As for ladies... well... Brittney Spears, i could just see her standing before the council They say there is power to be had in names They say they make us, or break us ... i say a thumbs up for god-fathers
