  1. I think respawnable enemies are good to a very limited degree. Only certain places, and only upto a certain number of spawns. I personally thought the wave of enemies on the Star Forge was sufficient for it locale in the game. I would not have wanted to see that elsewhere in the game, though. There was some respawning critters on Kashyyk, if you recall. After you left Wookieville (or whatever the name of that place was) the first time, there were new critters to do away with along the path you had just cleared. That was adequate, although I never understood how the Wookies and outsiders roaming around didn't come in contact with them before me.

  2. If they ever do make a Max Payne game, Michael Madsen is the only real choice. He does work on games as it is, and has the perfect voice and look for the character. He'd just need to slim down a bit. A lot, actually...heh...

Good idea for a movie, but I would recommend Hollywood stay away from known talent. Machael Madsen definitely has the look to pull off he part, but I'd like to see a no-name talent.

  3. Don't know how thins comes across in the translation, but;

Dare il benvenuto a bordo. Per favore di tenere i braccii e la gamba nell'automobile a tutto volta, e per favore non si alza.

  4. Europe was Christianized through the sword, and through pressures of economic trade.

Monotheism is in no way linked to the prosperity of democratic ideals, if anything it served to hinder them.

Pagans were for the most part always democratic, the althing in Iceland is an example of this.

You make it sound like Westerners were christian by choice, they were never christian by choice, more than anything folk were christian out of fear.

Christianity hasn't ever been responsible for anything good. I don't believe Christianity has anything to do with why democracy was embraced.

    Monotheism & Freedom cannot co-exist.

Couldn't have said this any better. Just look at the Southern Baptist church in the US and you can see today the attitudes that prevailed in early Christianity. "Our way or die..."

  5. I'll second or third or whatever number we're on the idea that PCs should not be trapped in spaces by the party members (staring at you with a stupid look on their faces like "what do we do now, George?"). That was a frustrating issue with KoTOR.

More interesting fidgets. Maybe your character can scratch his butt or pick his nose or something....no seriously!

The ability to whack one of your party members if they annoy you.

Ability to throw objects using the Force.

Rideables: Vehicles, mounts, whatever, as part of the story.

Blood. At least the option to turn gore mode on/off.

When encountering foe, I'd like to see more r less than 3 all of the time. In KoTOR, until you met the Rakata, your foe always came in threes.

  6. 1. Take it into the garage and place it in the center of the concrete floor.

    2. Go over to the tool box and find a large hammer.

    3. Return to the Xbox in the middle of the floor with the hammer in your dominant hand.

    4. Raise the hammer over your head.

    5. Bring the hammer down onto the middle of the top of the Xbox forcefully(MS has conveniently shaped it in sort of an "X" shape, so finding the middle should not be difficult).

    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until the Xbox has been sufficiently rendered into thousands of tiny pieces.

JK. Seriously, I have no idea. Maybe BestBuy? They do PC repairs, maybe they can do Xboxes as well. After all, an Xbox is just a limited use pc. I do suggest that you invest in a (better) surge protector, especially living in the the worst place for lightning in the world.

Was it plugged into a surge protector already? If so, the warranty on the surge protector might cover the damages to the Xbox.

  7. Hey, all. Just got back from a 2 week trip to EU. Looks like I have a lot of catching up to do, what with Obsidian getting the NWN2 gig and all.

Anyone have any recommended reading? Or should I just try to catch up?

  8. I was under the impression that there were 9 original stories. At least that is what Lucas said way back when before ANH premiered. He decided that, given the technology of the day, and the waning attention span of the average movie goer, it was best to film ANH first because he felt it had the most action. If it went well, he'd go for ESB. After RoTJ, when asked if he'd go back to make the first three stories into movies, he said that they were too boring, and people wouldn't have the same respect they have for Ep 4-6. Now he says he won't do the last three...ever. I wonder....

I know of someone who worked for a publishing company that saw all 9 original stories. If you ask Lucas today, he'll deny he ever wrote them, but age and time have a way of altering your perceptions, I guess. I never got to see the original manuscript, but I understand it is/was very different from what ended up in the movies, EXCEPT for ANH.

  9. If everyone would send me $25.00, I can assure you that you will receive an Xbox for not one penny more.

    The "$25.00 Xbox scheme"

    This is how it works:

You send me $25.00, and your name goes onto the bottom of the list. The list has no more than 25 people on it. As new people sign on and send in their $25.00, the person at the top of the list gets their Xbox, and you move one step closer to the top. 25 transactions, that is, 25 new people sign on and send in their $25.00, you get your Xbox.

People fall for this one all of the time. Most of the scammers who do this one will give out 2 or 3 Xboxes to establish their credibility, but after that, they keep all of the money. Some never send out an Xbox, and when asked will get you to refer people you know to "get the list moving".

If the scammer actually does send out the Xboxes when he says he will, he is still pulling down $480.00 (based on the current street for a plain Xbox) for each 25 suckers he gets to buy in. Do this 10 times in a month and you'll end up with a nice pay check every month.

  10. 1. The military is a training ground for future medical professionals. Many doctors have done time with the military. The military will pay 100% off all medical school costs in trade for an obligated length of service.

    2. Military personnel commander must approve the leave for the surgery, and subsequant light duty period there after until the soldier is 100%. None of the military commanders I know would grant that time off for that reason. Nor would they willingly subject the rest of the unit to having to pick up Gena's slack because she wanted bigger tatas.

    3. If it is a "perk", tantemount to the GI Bill, I would think it is just the right thing to attract more women. There are always quotas to meet by recruiting commands, and anything they have in their arsenal (most of if B.S. by the way...or at least VERY overstated) the easier it is to attract those needed groups.

    4. If the military started handing out free **** enlargements, I'd volunteer! I'm not shy!! Just small!! Oh, wait, shouldn't have said that.......

  11. Nope. Just twist the knob and push. Doors open pretty much the same as any other...

    HAHAHA!!!

Sorry. Just being a smart-ass. I really have no idea.

The best way to find out, to be honest, is to call the admissions office and ask who to speak with in the department for the major you're interested in. That person should be able to tell you:

Average/expected/minimum high school GPA, SAT scores, etc.

If transferring credits, prior college GPA requirements, transferability of similar courses, etc.

If you're of a minority group, you can ask about programs, diversity initiatives, etc, that might aid in improving your odds of acceptance.

One thing about colleges, they expect you to take the initiative. They expect you to make the calls and seek out the people you need to talk to. Knowing college officials (friends, neighbors) they all say that they are more likely to accept a go-getter with a lesser SAT score or GPA than a "smarter" person who blindly applies and flies.

  12. Earlier this week, the town council in Cow Head on the island's Northern Peninsula passed a bylaw forbidding the removal of any material from the local beach, including small rocks.

Mayor Pat Bavis said the move was necessary because interesting rocks, including fossils and aboriginal artifacts, are part of what makes the beach attractive to tourists.

"If we lose it, it's not a renewable resource that we are going to get back," he said.

That's a little strange. I grew up on a beach and if its subjected to ocean surf, the beach continually changes. Sediment gets covered, exposed, washed out to sea, and brought back to land. Besides, how do you enforce that?

"Turn your pockets inside out. Where did you get that pebble?"

    And what about skipping rocks?

Shhhhh! They aren't in politics because they're smart. Don't tell them anything more than they need to know!

Another movie I found surprisingly under done was Daredevil.

  13. Yup. Free "Get Out Of Jail" cards when it comes to mishandling classified documents as well! Sam Berger's buddies are all sticking up for him. Now, these same people, Sandy Berger included, would be calling for the head of any low life military officer or enlisted person should they as much as accidently shred a piece of classified toilet paper. Every year, dozens of military personnel are jailed (30-60-90 day sentences...some longer) for mishandling classified documents (like forgetting to shred and leaving lying out IN the secure space). This @**-clown takes the stuff with the apparent motive to destroy it to keep it from betting into the hands of the 9/11 committee, but that's ok, because he can be absentminded sometimes (his friends say).
