I would like to start over again. I would really like to, but I am just not in the mood anymore. So, the game will probably get real dusty on my shelf before I play it again. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree. I was SO excited when I brought it home and started playing for the first time. But now even KoTOR I is tainted by the failure of this game. KoTOR I was probably my favorite game, ever. It was just... perfect. And they've ruined that for me. You come to a forum, every day, for more than a month, to check on a patch. You've pretty much given up hope. Then the patch comes, and I rejoyce. I'm saved. The patch fixes nothing, however. I'll probably never play this game again.

I'm considering starting over, but I'd like some assurance that I won't encounter the same crash bug again.

Patch did nothing for me. I shall continue to wait for an effective patch. By the way, Brothers in Arms is a GREAT game. Bug free too. That's what I've been playing.

Alright, I finally had some time to wrestle with the patch, and I figured out a solution. If you're getting an error message that says "the old file cannot be found" or "checksum does not match" here's what you do: Locate that file on your installation CD(s) and copy and paste it to your kotorII directory. Then run the manual patch, not the auto update. It worked for me. Now I'm about to start the game and see if I get the same crash in the same place at the same time. I'm betting that this patch does nothing for me.

I get an error saying that the old file can't be found at 96%.

I have the same problem.

I'll buy the next LA game that comes along.

What are you people talking about? Where's the damn patch already?

I had no choice but to stop playing the game. I can't do anything BUT wait for a patch.

I have the exact same problem. Even by editing my savegames and warping elsewhere in the universe, I will always crash when returning to the main nar shadda area. I crash at the 1/3 point, where it appears to be doing the auto save. It comes up and says that the program needed to close, blah blah blah.
